Could the magnet for the battery bank cause issues with the Steam Deck fan? The Killswitch case had issues with that with the initial release units

I don't trust magnets close to my console or phone so I will not be picking up the magnetic battery pack is there any battery pack that can be put on the back of the steam deck without magnets?

One thing I like about the steam deck over the rog is that, my steam deck is fully customized, d brand skin. Hal effect joysticks, 2tb ssd, track pad covers, and the 512 screen, ( I have the 64gb steam deck ) custom boot screen and the ui is modified and looks just how i wanted it, where as my rog ally is pretty much stock aside from the joy stick covers and the upgraded 2tb ssd and ui wise I'm just running wallpaper engine wallpapers. Performance wise. Rog blows the steam deck out of the water but still I wish I could personalize the rog ally case and idk have a different ui besides windows.

I have a Shargeek storm 2 powerbank and it does not work with ROG Ally (but works find with SD).

Yes! I noticed this immediately, there seems to be some protocol incompatibility. It’s a great battery bank for the Steam Deck, for the Ally I’ve gotten it to work when you run it through a dock at around 30 watts. Still waiting on a BIOS update from ASUS to possibly revolve this, as of now I wouldn’t consider it for the Ally unfortunately.

IMHO the transparent case for the shargeek battery is not a good idea because it puts it at risk to get hotter easily in direct sunlight, unlike if its case had a white paint.

If you want to go into the science of heat dissipation to that extent. Then the battery is the object most likely to be creating heat in the battery. It's more important to radiate the heat away than to be concerned about where external heat might be coming from.

@@shytut Problem is a transparent case will still prevent the battery to radiate its heat away just like an opaque one. So all the more reason to avoid adding the sunlight as a heat factor.
