Didnt expect another C2 video, but it is still greatly appreciated
Just wanted to do a quick little update on the 4090! Working on new stuff for next week 😄
Another great video man, your presentation skills are really impressive.
Thank you dude! You da bomb 🤓
stop looking up! I've watched a few of your videos so far and you constantly do it.
Dude this video is super high quality, the cam and lights, the editing and the content of it it's top noch, new subscriber here!
Also thanks for the info on the 42" c2, I'm concidering it to replace everything I've got for the ultimate display :D
Happy to hear! Thanks for watching 😎
You just gained a new subscriber. It seems anytime I try to look up a review for something like a 40 inch monitor as a pc gaming monitor, I never get a descriptive answer. But I really thought your review of this was super helpful and gave me alot to think about for sure!
Thank you! Glad it was able to assist!
As someone who just built a new rig with a 3090 Ti and a C2, my hat’s off to you bud. You got all the points!
Ohhh, absolutely awesome combo! Enjoy your new build 😎
I just got the c2 42 2 days ago as a pc monitor and I LOVE IT! I've never seen a 4k display up close, or even a big oled so I was blown away when I first set it up. Sons of the Forest looks amazing on it, especially at night, as well as elden ring. I was a bit worried about framerates at 4k with my 3080 but it handles it surprisingly well
Thats really stupid. The LG C2 is not a monitor, it's a OLED TV. The burn-in from using the TV as a monitor for browsing will increase the chances of burn-in dramatically. Prolonged white screen is bad. It also has a glossy finish, so it's not optimal for reading text.

Great video !!

Thank you! Happy to hear 😀
Once again great video, and I love the shirt!

have you tried the c1 input delay? according to rtings its the same and even faster in some cases
Bro, what are these small desk speakers ?? Cound't find an answer in comments or videos.
Got a DOA C2 Yesterday waiting on replacement. Nice work and video !
Awesome I am totally gonna save up for one hopefully for my Bday in the next couple of months. :)
I just got this for my new rig with a 4090 and it looks amazing. I do have a problem with the vrr that comes with the gsync and how you get some flickering like other have talked about
Hey @SpecterTech ive just got the 4090 rog strix white edition, im currently running the monitor msi 4k mag28urf but it doesnt blow me away, loved this video.
Im currently looking at either the 42" C3 or the odyssey oled G9 or should i wait till next year for a 4k oled montior? Help ive watched so many videos im overwhelmed.
Thanks Joey
For my lg 42 c2 I disabled tps and gsr algorithms from service menu..still while gaming brightness keeps on dimming ever few minutes..any solution for the dimming issue
Hey, how's the text clarity on the C2 when reading reddit and forums? Is it readable or it's a struggle? Also, can you extend the web browser across the screen and actually see the letters, or it's too big for that and have you minimize the browser? Thanks!
Can I know your tv settings please? Also is the gameplay footage in HDR?
The C2 was my first ever oled and I am glad I jumped into this tv technology at this time! I am glad oled displays are becoming more common for the average person. I have a 48 inch C2 mounted above my two monitors connected to my 3080. 4k high refresh gaming is fortunately becoming more viable and I am excited to see the evolution of pc gaming with display port 2.1 in the future!

Thanks Mike! Always a pleasure! 😎
Mine worked for 5 month now the screen goes black or no signal when over 60 hz or choosing deep coler
I bought the c2 42 in germany for 940 € in sale with a cashback from lg. I returned the 1st one cause of wierd black screen dropouts. The replaced oled is perfect. Im absolutely in love ❤
Nice! Awesome price on the C2.
I got it yesterday here in UK for £799.00 + will get 19% cashback from Qudico. I love this display
I had the same faults and had to replace mine yesterday, random turning off, lines through screen and gsync flicker, replaced at costco and they'd dropped the price to £815, save me a £100! Love this panel 🤟, the image quality is amazing compared to any non OLED screen
@@dracidio where did you purchase yours from? I'm in the UK also and costco dropped the price to £815 recently

Will the XFX RX 6800 XT be good enough to play CS:GO, GTA and so on in 4k on that monitor/tv?
Yes
Hola buenos días,está tele la tengo limitada a 60 fps,en el menú juego cuando le das a la tele lo tengo a 60 fps, sabes cómo puedo quitar la limitación ?? Gracias
I just picked up the Alienware Aurora R15 gaming desktop (still waiting for it to be shipped) but I currently use an LG Oled C2 for my HP Omen PC. Do you think i should upgrade my "monitor" since the LG C2 only gets up to 120hz? I want to make sure I get everything out of the RTX 4090. Thinking of getting a monitor with 240hz support.
At 4k ultra settings you're probably not gonna see over 120hz anyway, I currently have a 4080 and a c2 42 and I'm running 90-110fps max in most games, although I mostly play newer single-player games at max settings
Where'd you get that cool screensaver? :)
It's a MacOS screensaver under Drift.
Did you try the ultra wide qd oled from alienware? Iam torn between getting a c2 or the dell
I actually haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve heard really great things. Definitely two solid contenders.
You can use 21:9 with LG c2
32GQ950 and C2 are same price , which is your pick for heavy usage?
What would you be using the display for primarily?
@@SpecterTech I am asking which one worth for primary pc monitor.
I came here to find out which cables you used. I’ve got a 65 LG C3 and a i7 13700k/4090 rig. Thanks for your suggestion, I’ve bought a couple through the link.
Thanks! The Stouchi cables have been super solid.
With the Black Friday deal on these makes it even sweeter so I got 3. Grabbed one for a buddy of mine having a problem finding decent 2.1 cables. I appreciate it!
I bought a 42 inch LGC2 to pair with a 4080. Initially, I ran into issues with the screen cutting in and out when using the display port to HDMI. If you run into this go into the Nvidia Control Panel, Select the TV under the Gsync setup menu, and uncheck the box that says "enable settings for the selected display model." I'm not sure why but when that is selected it seems to send conflicting information to the panel causing flickering and blackouts. Even with that box unselected the GSync works fine. Hope this helps anyone running into this issue...
Fucking life saver.... I just bought a 4080 and couldn't understand why the tv setting had changed... You saved me a lot of time spending hours in the dark figuring that one out..
@@dwhelan88 awesome! It was driving me crazy. Check cords etc. I was like wtf lol. Glad it helped
What cable do use buddy? Mine arrives next week (running a 4090) but not sure on HDMI candle and all!
@@bigarmydave as long as your are using the HDMI and not the display port you shouldn’t run into any issues. I bought the 8k rocket fish hdmi cable from best buy. Little pricey but worth it. I tried one off Amazon and had color issues. That 4090 is a beast, I wouldn’t shortcut on the cable.

Just Ordered 42" OLED C2 42" from Costco, comes tomorrow, 5-5-23 . My new Gaming PC just came yesterday. CORSAIR i7400 Vengeance i-9 13,900 RTX 4090. Haven't even opened it want to wait until LG comes.
What's your experience been like? Getting a 4090, trying to decide between this c2 and Samsung g7
Hunting Black Friday deals for a PC that can run LG C2 42inch! Do you reckon 3080 can run it without issues?
And you got a new sub! Great video
Im running it with the 3060 TI it looks alot better then PS5
Yes! You can absolutely drive the screen with a 3080. That's what I was using before trying it out with the 4090. It's a solid combo.
@@SpecterTech thanks mate! Getting a sweet deal on a custom built at the moment with a 3080. It will change the whole atmosphere of the setup
@@-Mithrandir that's actually good to know. I've never had a system to run ultra settings so I don't mind running lower settings but if 3060i can still run. 3080 shouldn't have a problem. Thanks
So no HDMI 2.1 cable in the box?
Is this screen to big to play first person shooters on a desk with a mouse and keyboard? I need a 4k oled 120hz+ screen but don't want a sore neck looking around a screen during shooting games.
I was playing on a 27-inch gaming monitor and decided to switch to the 42-inch oled. It took me less than a month to get use to it. Now I will never go back to 27 or 32 inch. I play alot of cod mw2 and overwatch. Also, it depends on your desk.
Do you think maybe since its 120hz the 4080 might be a better match up?
Yup
@@IwinMahWay I respectfully disagree. Cyberpunk won't fun at 4k 120. Think of gpu requirements 2-3 years down the road.
@@IwinMahWay No, if you're doing high refresh rate 4K gaming, you get the 4090 if a 4090 is within your budget. And even it won't hit 120fps if you try to max out all the settings in certain titles .
Where did you that sick animated lock screens at 2:31 tho?
It’s actually one of the default MacOS screensavers on the Mini. You might be able to find under “Drift Screensaver for Windows”.
@@SpecterTech Thank you!
Do you experience blurry videos even on 4k with the 42 C2..
I actually haven't experienced any blurry videos so far with the C2. Have you had issues?
Concerned about the autodimming that can happen with c2?
You can buy a special remote to access a different menu on the TV to alleviate that issue, just know it voids warranty. So I’ll leave mine alone for a year lol
I’m having a hard time deciding if I wanna keep this or keep the a90k for my ps5 I only game on console
if you game a lot, keep c2
I just got my C2 yesterday. Have a 3080 and i9 9900k.
I have also Msi 4090 Trio and would like to buy C2
Is it better to go with 42” or 55”? I heard the bigger size is more brighter
did yuh got the answer
I've been using TV's to play my games since 2010, and yes you can say they have too much input lag compared to now BUT it's so much better to play on the TV's, since I don't play competitive like my life depends on that game, I can enjoy the games so much even warzone etc I don't care if I don't win games, I play for fun xD
Sometimes it's just great to kick back and enjoy a big screen!
how to use gsync on pc with hdmi 2.1?
What is the size of your desk
Hello great video ! I bought the lg c2 42 today and with gsync enabled I am getting serious screen tearing and flickering.. screen even goes black momentarily. Any ideas what it is ? Firmware and drivers are up to date. I have gsync enabled in control panel and on tv. I am on a 3080 and limited the fps to 117 in control panel. Works fine when gsync is turned off on the tv. I read some people saying to enable v sync in nvidia control panel ? Any help much appreciated
Make sure you have the correct hmdi 2,1/8k cable . Most people get that issue your talking about when using incorrect cables
Thank you! Sometimes it can be a bit of a hassle to get everything running flawlessly. I've enabled (G-Sync) on the C2 and within the control panel. Might be a possible cable hiccup for sure.
I’ll second the cable as being the most likely culprit. If you can’t resolve it via settings, buy a certified cable even though it will cost more and you’ll probably have solved your problem.
It seems quite amazing to me, that a graphics card that costs €3000 in my country has issues with the connectors? I have a C2 and use it primarily with Xbox series X and S. We all have to understand that this is a TV and not a monitor.
Ridiculous that this is an issue people need to worry about.
Which game is that in the beginning on the review?
High on Life is the background game, + Siege and Tarkov on the monitor examples.
Hi Specter! Great video. I’ve come from a ps5 on a 65” LG C1 to my first ever gaming pc with a 3090ti. I’m torn between displays. Do you prefer the oled or ultrawide. Also what is the ultrawide shown in this video….. the picture quality looks amazing! Thanks!
What you end up going with?
Terrible choice. A PS5 is more than good enough to game with decent to great visuals. It's not worth to spend $2000 for a GPU just to see a tiny upgrade in graphics that you wont notice anyway while playing. In just 2 years since the launch of 3090Ti, it now is the same speed as a 70 series card thats less than half the price...
@@xPhantomxify I didn’t. I paid £800 (around $1000) for the gpu through a sale at the time. Still a lot I know that but a gaming pc was always going to be more than a ps5. I knew that but I now have much more flexibility than a console ever gave me and also makes a huge difference for high end PCVR. I’ve been more than happy 👍🏼. Although thanks for the negativity, always amusing to recieve 🤪
@@BrunoASMR All u need is the plug n playability the PS5 offers on your LG C1. You won't notice much of any visual upgrades, the TV does that 10x better than your GPU. Could've saved the £800 for the next TV upgrade like the LG G4 VR gaming is a novelty/gimmick still, 90% of people who bought it play it once or twice then never come back to it. I don't blame you though, most people don't want to accept they've made a bad purchase.
@@xPhantomxify - I understand your points if it was as simple as that. If I was only gaming I would agree. As for VR it’s only gimmicky on standalone systems like the meta quest where power and graphics capability is relatively low. PCVR is a different ballgame if you have the right system. As for the C2 and 3090ti, I use that purely for gaming and it is stunning. A small BUT noticeable improvement over my ps5. This is the difference though….the GPU I also use for work (design applications) along with a different monitor and for this I needed a powerful GPU, the 3090ti was a breath of fresh air that has significantly improved modelling capabilities. Wether it’s a ‘poor’ choice or not is relative to each individual’s circumstances at the time. 😉
Great vid. Subd
How is the c2 for up close FPS on mouse and keyboard?
I’ve mainly been playing MW2 & Tarkov on the C2 and it’s been awesome. I still believe a competitive gaming monitor will edge it out with FPS gaming on mouse and keyboard. 120 hertz is smooth, but once you start pushing 160+ it’s even smoother.
@@SpecterTech do the blacks of the c2 help in tarkov?
The game looks really good! Deep blacks can make it tough to pick out people in dark corners. But you can always mess with the levels if you want more visibility.
I sold my C2. Too big vertically, hate the dimming and the occasional visual artefacts from HDMI issues. Bought a 38" ultrawide.
It's personal preference for sure. I still daily drive an ultrawide that works perfect for what I need.
Anyone else having issues with it not being bright enough? I love the colors but man the brightness is not doing it for me
What about EL-LED?
Can’t wait to play star citizen on this
Wich game is running on the background when talking?
It's called High On Life, and it's releasing December 13th. It looks great!
what game is that in the intro section?
High on Life is in the background of the video. Siege & Tarkov are the monitor example clips
Can a 3080 handle this tv/monitor?
Definitely capable of driving this display, just not absolutely cranked to the max.
Mine stutters on every frame drop
Looks good
But personally prefer 32 inches then 42...
32” is a really solid size for a monitor
when you have to review gear with a fire extinguisher...this is where we are at 😂😂😢😢
imo this tv is perfect for console gaming when you are in your living room couch.
for PC it's just too big, mainly for playing fps games. i tried and i did not like it.
It’s an interesting size, sometimes a bit too small for a living room - and too big for a desk.
Cool shirt
I just got a 48 inch model. Why does my stand look different then yours? Haha
The 42" has a different stand compared to the larger sizes. The 48" can be a perfect do it all size. Awesome choice!
@@SpecterTech ok phew. Was worried i had an open box swaparoo lol.Just happend to a lian li cable i purchased reasently.Really loving it for games and movies.Any idea how to get rid of the flickering in game menus? It does not happen during gameplay so not a huge issue for me.
Haha yes, you are good to go! I’ve had a bunch of weird instances with open box as well 😂. If you have any sort of flickering issues try using a different supported HDMI cable. From my experience it always seems to be the cable that causes flickering. And of course have the PC settings adjusted for the screen.

12vhpwr connector is melting because people are not pushing the connector all the way in. 0 issues with mine
Absolutely a possibility. Haven’t had an issue yet with the 12VHPWR.
NVIDIA is reporting ~50 known cases for a total failure percentage rate of 0.04%, which is fine. This video really oversells that problem
Lol. This wasn't an issue previously so it's not overblown. It's a legitimate concern for a "flagship" card.
No 4090... wait. They are way over priced.. lol and .. some were hook line and sinker. Nv got them good.
it's so dark, it's horrible.
so you failed to make bfi work and missed that absolutely nothing matters other than it working for gaming >< okay I understand you have never seen it working..because like VR it's not something the brain can guess you have to see it irl, BFI halves the pictures shown so running 60fps or lower will never work right and yes you can absolutely play 120fps I'm playing right now in 120hz trumotion on the c3, forget vrr gsync and all those marketing gadgets that bring nothing, your nvidia needs to be in the 4k 120hz resolution in the PC section below the main one, you will have to disable everything else in game optimizer and keep only trumotion and you will have to tweak the nv control panel profile for every game as ingame vsync do not work properly on tvs for some reasons unlike monitors and forcing it ON or FAST through the control panel is mandatory (vsync off in the game menu) then yes you will have 120fps BFI forza horizon max rt in 4k 120fps and it's amazing, I'm replaying dead space 2008 and it looks insanely good with working trumotion in 120fps
Consoles aim for 4k30. Not 60 on AAA titles not this gen not on the PS6.
