If you move to a state like Nebraska and leave your vehicle registered in South Dakota they WILL track your car for 45 days and issue a citation for out of state plates which carries a $500 fine. If you continue to keep the plates on after that, you will most likely get a visit from the State Patrol with a little information about tax evasion. So, know the laws of the state you are actually living in and don’t assume they are going to be ok with leaving your car registered in SD. Remember, it’s about money. SD lets you do this for money and other states want their money too.

We sometimes tip at Palace resorts but usually at the end to our favorite people. And the one or 2 times we get maid service we leave a tip on the bed that is obvious. Palace resorts have a fund that acts as a scholarship for becoming managers, etc. It is a great program and their staff is treated very well. We usually make friends for life at Palace and Hard Rock and talk to them on Facebook. Amazing people for sure!

Most of all, I at 73 am considering leaving the US but as you mentioned, at my age, finding a company to provide healthcare is a concern- that I will not be given health insurance. And not just Mexico. I have coverage in the US but the political situation, cost of living, and crime - mass shootings and gun violence is taking its toll on the everyday mental health or quality of life in the USA. The USA is corrupt and hate what it has become. Having lived in Spain even under Franco, I know the quality of life can be better elsewhere, the pros outweighing the cons. Thanks for excellent videos. As a retired college educator, "business administration" I'll give you an A+ for your videos and up front information .

We werein Rosarito and got pulled over for “tints”. Cops took our licenses and told us to follow them, they proceeded to take us to an atm in the outskirts of town. They then cuffed us together and said our car was gonna get towed if we didn’t pay $40,000 pesos. They then told each one of us to go into the atm and retrieve as much money as we could, while we retrieved the money, they ransacked our car and took money, clothes, jewelry, tequila bottles, colognes.

If you are Hispanic and you speak Spanish like a Mexican native, then you should consider Mexico and much of Central or South America. But there is no major city anywhere in Central or South America that is safe for anyone, native or not. And if you are not Hispanic or cannot pass as a native, then absolutely not, unless you don't mind being mugged or living the rest of your life in a gated and heavily guarded community (aka a nice prison). Except for Puerto Rico and maybe Cuba, you are not safe except in a gated community if you cannot pass as a native. fyi, that goes for most of Southeast Asia as well. If you are northern European ancestry, why not Poland? Why not Slovenia? Both are magnificent. If money is an issue and you do not want to live frugally, and you can tolerate a little risk (Two orders of magnitude less risk than Mexico) consider Kyiv or Lviv Ukraine. War or no war, you will be 1000% more safe than anywhere in Central or South America or Southeast Asia. There is no violent street crime, NONE. The only crime you have to deal with in Ukraine or anywhere in Eastern Europe or the former Soviet Union is pickpockets and non-violent scams. As for cost, you can live like a KING on $2000 a month. You would have to have $150,000 a year in the USA to live in the USA as you can live on $24,000 a year in Ukraine. If you have $5000 a month, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, etc. etc. are all good choices. BECAUSE YOU CAN PASS AS A NATIVE!
