We also love Valladolid and REALLY love cochinita pibil, so much that I learned how to make it and cooked it up for Christmas a couple of years ago! 🙂 That cave pool looks AMAZING! ~Gina
Spent 4 months in Valladolid in a little apartment in front of the Exconvento. There is still a bicycle culture there and it has a cyclopista around the town and the police are diligent about the 40 kph traffic speed limit. I swam in many local cenotes and cycled to both Tulum and Rio Lagartos easily. Good food and friendly hospitality. Great memories and nice to know there is still some of the old Mexico left.
Hi Paul, following your recommendation, we drove today from Playa del Carmen to Valladolid, one of our favorite cities, and wanted to finish the day at the Casa Italia, the Italian place recommended by you. Despite being a day, when their website says to be open, it was closed. No sign to indicate, it is exceptionally closed. We called and learned that they just didn't fancy to open today, on a busy Wednesday in Valladolid. Certainly not your fault, just wanted to let other potential guests know to better make sure, whether they are open or not.
Great video. Recently found your channel while learning Spanish and saw you had this channel as well. My girlfriend and I are considering taking a trip to Mexico and I think this looks like a cool place that we both would love. Thanks for all the great content. Looking forward to more videos.
I’ll be trying the Italian place you recommend next year, hopefully Tren Maya is up and running. While on Isla Mujeres a couple years ago, we found an incredible Italian restaurant owned by an American couple. They started it at the beginning of the pandemic, the best Ossobuco and calamari I’ve had was there, called De Nuccio’s Live music seemed every night, a wine cellar, and a kitchen that rivals something akin to Masterchef kitchen. Great staff also, and the owners come around and make the time to chat with you. On the peaceful side of the island away from the crowds
Just WOW!! So even though you were not staying at the hotel they allowed you to purchase a wonderful package including that 50 minute massage! That was very awesome of them... is this something that is routine? Also if you book the room for the approximately $200 per night do you pay the additional fees for massage and access to the "cave pool" or are some of those items included in the ROOM fees???
They said those are the standard packages to use the facilities (and get a massage) if you aren't staying at the hotel. Guests staying at the hotel get access to the cave pool etc. There are additional fees more spa treatments but they were all lower than what we typically see in the Riviera Maya.
Great video Paul thanks for sharing. Since we live in PM that is a great weekend get away. Can you share the name of the cute hotel you normally stay in too????😊
Hi Qroo Paul (& Linda too!) ---You both have brought a lot of comfort to our family, through suffering in lockdown through the pandemic, and now while we're trying to plan out exit/excape plan. Can you post more videos please? 2 months is 2 long.... Your videos are really inspiring and give hope to those of us still working here..... Also -- could. you post a video on this: a lot of law enforcement people retire in MX,. And obviously --- we're not [legally] entitled to possess firearms in MX. Is that a form of therapy in a way? What I mean is that, after moving to MX -- bc of the prohibition on possessing firearms -- it forces former LE who move there to be more introspective, to not think so much about the external world (/threats) and instead (bc presumably, wherever an Expat lands in MX will be a safe, protected environment, so there's no real issues re external threats) -- bc of the 'powerlessness' of not being able to [legally] possess a firearm -- to focus more on the deeper meaning in life, to kind of step outside of ourselves and see things from a bigger perspective. I've been thinking a lot about this big picture stuff lately..
Hello Paul. Love all your content, all very helpful. I have one question for you. My temporary residency expires on July 26th, and I planned on getting back down there on the 10th of July. From my understanding, I'm ok as long as I get to the INM before the 26th? I'm renewing for another 3 years at the Mazatlan INM, which was very smooth when I got my temporary residency last year.
Hey bro! I just mentioned you and one of my latest video descriptions. Would you be able to tell me if what the police did was legal in that video?? Thanks brother 👊
Hi, Paul! Just have a question about the general safety living in Mexico, especially with all the news one hears about crimes affecting the locals, in general, and foreigners, in particular. Do you and Linda feel safe going about your business everyday? Are these crimes just some sensationalization from the media that causes irrational fear in people, or there are real reasons for concern? It's true that crimes happen everywhere, but somehow when you are in a country you are not familiar with, you tend to be easily scared. Having said that, I don't really want to have my ignorance to be the reason why I don't travel or live in these beautiful areas. Can you make a video about this at some point? Thank you for putting out many good contents.
Been here for my winters for 10 years. Mexico gets bad PR from USA News. All about Cartels and illegals. Give it a chance... Be careful though, it's easy to fall in love.

Valladolid is one of 2 of my favorite places in Mexico. San Cristobol de las Casas is the other.
That place looks beautiful.

Awesome find! We will definitely have to try this hotel /resort out on our next trip to Mexico.
This place looks so cool and like a perfect couples getaway! The Yucatán is still on my bucket list, and it’s good to know about these hidden gems.
💬✍️👆.
Very cool. Going to check it out (maybe after Semana Santa)
Thanks Paul. I’ll have to try them too next time we go to Valladolid. 👍
My dear friends have an Airbnb in Valladolid. I love it there.

Linda appearance. Yay!
Looks like a neat place! We loved Valladolid when we were there ☺️
Very informative. Thank you
Thanks Pablo on showing my hometown. I am glad that you like it there. Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧
Hi Ricardo! Thanks for watching. Enjoy the UK. :)
@@qroo Thank you. BTW I was there this past February. Too bad you two weren't there at that time.
Paul we need to go check out these places before we move from QRoo. We went to Vallodid but it wasn’t as fun as you all had. Thanks for sharing!!!
Cool underground pool
We have to check that out.
Thanks for sharing 🙏
It's a nice place. Even if you just stop by for lunch and some drinks, I think it's worth it.
Great find! Thanks for the review!
Great video, thanks
Awesome 👍👍👍
Gracias Pablo!
It looks like a nice place.
Thanks!
Thanks, now I'm hungry!

Impressive
Heated cave pool with cocktails... 'eff-yeah...
Wao. Good video. Thanks. (Also, been a year since I was in Rivera Maya. Taxis were only 40 pesos when I was there. What changed?)

Hey Qroo, I have seen many of your videos. One topic that worries me about Mexico it's the water problem, or lack of. What's your take?
Hey Paul! Whats up with Banks in Mexico suddenly wanting a RFC for existing accounts? Are money transfers from the USA now going to be taxed?
No peeing in the pool!
A legit issue with kids
😂😂😂😂😂😂

Interesting.! How is the bilingualism; English and Spanish? I just can't do massages though.
Spelling of the town?
lifestyles of the rich and famous! 3800 pesos a night... my monthly budget for accommodation would be blown in 3-4 nights!
mexico is beautiful ! if only no cartels ?
Been here for my winters for 10 years.

The cartels will cease to exist once the USA's society stops being the #1 drug user, otherwise...😢
