That said, there are multiple stories of people taking their kids out of school to go to the last innings of the game. So I'd say it's quite plausible that the attendance at first pitch was the lowest of the season and once people started to realize something cool was happening, they came to the park.

Tell me he wasn’t a good defensive second baseman, besides Ozzie Smith, who got on the Hall of Fame on their defense ??? 290 career batting average almost 2500 hits 377 home runs ! 1518 rbis !! it’s absolutely ridiculous that he is not even eligible anymore so what he didn’t talk to the press I thought you got elected to the Hall of Fame by what you did on the field !!

I umpired for about 20 years - some of the guys I umpired with (high school & college) are doing pro games.......I have to say, they weren't even the best guys but were chosen due to favoritism AND, a lack of DEI (with regard to professional umpires back then). Watching the games now - I find it uncomfortable when an umpire establishes his own strike zone AND worse, listens to everything (negative) that's being said and decides to be a GREATER PART of the game than he should be. I was taught to do your job and leave your 'rabbit ears' at home.....these clowns nowadays, make the game really hard to watch!

Youppi got thrown out of the same ball game twice: Tommy was mad because Youppi somehow got back into the field of play after being ejected.

Angel Hernandez must be a big fan of Nick Patrick, WCW referee. Both think they are so great, yet both are considered the worst. Steve McMichael was a WCW wrestler and commentator about five years before this incident.

Even juicing, that has no impact on batting ability, skill and athletic ability. You don’t just take steroids and become amazing, have to workout hardcore and even that doesn’t give you hitting ability.
