Team Cramer Fishing
United States
Registrace 30. 08. 2016
The foundation of Team Cramer Fishing started when I was kid with a simple fishing pole and some bait, catching anything and everything that I could with those simple tools in hand. Fishing was a portal to the outdoors for me and has since led to countless adventures. Now I'm older and introducing my family to fishing and the great outdoors.
Our mission at Team Cramer Fishing is to test and demonstrate different techniques, equipment, and strategies that can make fishing accessible to almost everyone, and not just people who can afford fancy bass boats and hundred of crankbaits thrown on $200+ fishing rods. We focus on finding affordable gear and learning simple techniques that can help folks catch multiple species and sizes of fish in a fun way.
In short we’re about functionality over flash, technique over technology, and the accessible over the expensive.

Coleman Weathermaster Tent: How long does it take to set up?
I've had a few questions on my previous Coleman Weathermaster review video about how long it takes to set up. I hadn't used the tent for about a year, but we finally got it out to use last week, and I figured I'd shoot a live video of me setting up the tent to see how long it takes one person to do. While I didn't film it as an instructional video for the set-up, I do explain what it is I'm doing along the way, so it might help someone with the basic set-up as well.

A Great Family Fishing Rig (Mini Santee Cooper Rig) Lake of Three Fires Camp & Fish Part 2
zhlédnutí 503Před 3 lety
This is a video of us doing some family fishing off a small fishing jetty at Lake of Three Fires state park in southern Iowa. I've found this rig to be especially effective fishing nightcrawlers with the whole family and whomever else decides to show up and grab a rod that's getting bit. In the first part of the video I explain the rig, and the second part is of us actually fishing. We catch fo...
1st Kayak Bass Fishing (Lake of Three Fires State Park, IA)
zhlédnutí 420Před 3 lety
We went down to southern Iowa to do a little camp & fish at Lake of Three Fires State Park. It was a very nice little park, and fairly typical of southern Iowa lakes with the typical largemouth bass, channel cat, and bluegill as the main game fish. After setting up camp, I had about an hour to fish so I decided to target largemouth bass with a topwater frog from my Sea Eagle Kayak. I was using ...
Trout Fishing is Easier than Micro Fishing (Backbone State Park Species Hunting Part 3)
zhlédnutí 677Před 4 lety
We only had about an hour to fish before we had to pack up and leave Backbone State Park, so we decided to head back to our honey hole and catch a few micros before we left, hopefully landing a few new species. I was lucky to land two new species. What I believe was a Bigmouth Shiner (I thought it was just a common in the video, but after review it looks more like a Bigmouth and they are presen...
Rainbow Darter! (Backbone State Park Micro Fishing Part 2)
zhlédnutí 1,9KPřed 4 lety
It took a lot of work micro fishing, but I finally caught a Rainbow Darter, probably Iowa's most beautiful fish. Vivian also caught a new species in this video, a Blacknose Dace, and Heather landed a couple Rainbow Trout. I started off using a new Tenago hook rig, but it wasn't working very well so I switched to a size 30 fly-fishing hook, and after several attempts I finally landed the target ...
Backbone State Park Species Hunting Part 1
zhlédnutí 390Před 4 lety
We took a little weekend camp and fish outing to Backbone State Park in Iowa. In this video I managed to add two new species to my life-list. A female hornyhead chub and a bigmouth shiner. As a bonus, I also caught some beautiful spawning common shiners, and a rainbow trout for lunch. This brings my species-count up to 37 species since we started the channel, 36 of them having come from Iowa.
Jumbo Bass & Bluegill (Fly & Spin Fishing)
zhlédnutí 221Před 4 lety
We found a nice pond this spring with some very healthy bluegills and also some very big bass. We caught them three ways, on the fly, with lures, and with worms. This is a video of some of the better fish we caught.
Viv Catches A New Species All By Herself
zhlédnutí 120Před 4 lety
Viv took some other kids to fish while we were on our trout fishing trip, and with a little help from her friends she landed her 28th species on the channel, a Slimy Sculpin. This video is of her little adventure.
Iowa Smallmouth Fishing (Spring)

This is a video of springtime smallmouth bass fishing in central Iowa. Smallmouth are slow growers in rivers where they are found in Iowa, but early spring usually offers a good opportunity at landing some quality smallmouth.
How to Catch Stream Trout! (Tips & Tricks for Beginners)
zhlédnutí 403Před 4 lety
This video is a how-to video about stream trout fishing. For anglers that are used to fishing for other species of fish, trout fishing can sometimes be challenging. Trout can be very finicky, they can see really well in the water, and they can spook easily. The tips in this video will greatly improve your chances of catching a trout in a stream or small river. They also work really well if you ...
Early Spring Smallmouth & Carp

Miles Lands Two New Species!
zhlédnutí 165Před 4 lety
In this short video Miles lands two new species for his lifelist, a shorthead red horse and a northern hog sucker. It has been a while since we were able to upload a new video. Between Covid and work, it has been tough to get videos edited and uploaded even though we have been fishing a decent amount. I have acquired a new computer so that should help our video bottleneck a bit once I figure it...
Family Ice Fishing: Perch & Yellow Bass (Clear Lake, IA)
zhlédnutí 589Před 4 lety
Vivian records and edits her second video for the channel ice fishing at Clear Lake. We caught dozens of fish, which kept us plenty busy, but most of them were pretty small. Dad caught his second spottail shiner on the channel, which was a much better specimen than his first one a couple of years ago which was a juvenile. Overall we had lots of fun. It was our second ice fishing outing of the y...

Rod Review: Daiwa Presso Ultralight Travel Rod (Is it the best light-duty multi-species rod?)
I now identify as your 8 year old daughter. I don’t know how to tell my loved ones
Stellar memories for the kids
setting mine up again and wanted to see a video. This was so helpful. i kept mine up for months and roof got some sun damage - i’m going to make a second tarp fly to fix that. So anyone thinking about wanting to keep it up for an extended time would be wise to put it under another structure or put a tarp over it. It is waterproof before sun damage. It is a wonderful tent with excellent ventilation.
Its called an UGLY Stik for a reason
yes almost of their rods are expensive and fragile, most of the reviews break the tip of it, while you can buy any rods half the price of it that could lay twice as big as those st. croix could and multispecies rod.
great vid, thanks. in the future it would be helpful to know the height of the person in the tent to better understand the height at the edges of the ceiling. i assume it doesnt drop that much from the 6'8" peak though based on the shape.
Just ordered one today. And a fluger president. Thanks for the details.
I bought this used and I have a question about the LED light. How do you fully twist the ceiling light to align the dots?
Red worms is good bait for them fish
I've got 40 lb catfish these are amazing
donde se podria comprar ahora ?
Please pet the cat more. Get your priorities straight. Thanks for the informative review.
Does it have box or bag for carrying?
I like the GX2 reel on my GX2 rod 🤔 don't want the Shakespeare reel or logo on it. Time to search for the one. I've seen them in Cabela's and Walmart 🎣⁉️ I don't want crime on it with Shakespeare reel. Red and black for me.
would this rod be good for sheepshead fishing?
I put a penn 4000 on mine for canoe striper fishing and it has been a tank so far..
My newest favorite is the gx2 elite 9'. I use it in the back bays and even on the north jetty in Ocean City MD. I've heaved 30" stripers over the rocks. I agree it's almost like a fly rod, I throw 1/2 to 1 1/2oz and slay stripers, Redfish, Trout, blues etc. I love it , very sporty, sensitive and durable as Ugly Stik is known for. I have ugly sticks still that are well.over 30 years old that I had rebuilt and use today in the surf. I've yet found a fish that has beaten the gx2. I normally use 20# braid w/ a 20-40 lb flouro leader. Best day: 38 stripers in 2 hrs wade fishing in the back bay
Thanks so much! My son and I just made ours with the wire tires and it’s PERFECT… appreciate the video
Great review on the Coleman Weathermaster. I bought this same tent a while back, but not had opportunity to use it yet...bought it for my "Glamping" option. Plan to use it this next season camping near a local Lake. I also was attracted by the screened in room....I have an inexpensive tarp I can lay in that area to provide ground shield if needed, and remove it if raining so it does not pool water.
Once you mentioned bendable hooks and bending the barbs in, I'm done watching.
2024 still at Walmart
This is one of the most helpful reviews on the Presso. Thank you!
Bass rods are medium and don't bend properly like that⁉️ not just one brand just think about what you sed on the bend I've seen people try that and bend there rod and brake the rod. Not if it has a lot of carbon. Or that just me I guess.
I got the medium heavy with the GX2-50 reel is just right for me for Bass and big catfish with no problem. I've broke a Lew's cat daddy pole buy it just being in my truck but the other ones didn't but that's not the first Lew's Xfinity medium pole the tip off. I don't think they used enough fiberglass in it like Ugly Stick.
I just got new GX2 combo with the GX2-50 reel out of three new combos one LEW'S cat Daddy Zebco big cat in medium heavy is my rod and fiberglass made not the graffiti just breaks to fast do like the carbon fiber and fiberglass ☝🏼 my GX2 pole is perfect in balance for Bass and big catfish with 7 foot pole just right. Like the Felix of old school fiberglass pole's. The Zebco big cat and Boss Hawg will felix and not brake. Still have my first Ugly Stick rod from the 80's like my grandfather luwers box and pole Mitchell 🎣 with reel Abu Garcia Abumatic just old stuff but cool factor 😎 vintage.
I have been trying to figure out whether to go with a medium or light GX2 for my canoe trips (mainly targeting trout and walleye), the lure ratings being almost identical wasn't making my decision any easier. I figured I'd be good with the light, but your video helped convince me. I appreciate the the time you put into presenting all the info, thank you!
I have a st croix bass x rod 6'10 med lite. i catch 12 lb carp all the time and its holding pretty well, i love it.
Been using mine for pier and surf fishing absolutely amazing rod all my other rods have been left untuched ive been looking for a high quality multi purpose rod for a while
I have a few of the Elite models too but they dont have as much backbone as the GX2. Even though the ELite is lighter I still prefer the GX2 for walleye jigging because of the stiffer backbone, which allows me to set the hook better and faster and I also feel the GX2 is just as sensitive for feeling the bottom when jigging.. The only positive thing about the ELite is that its lighter and has a cork handle, otherwise I much prefer the GX2
Nice, hey did you like the 6' presso over the 6' 6" or what were your findings ? Thanks.
Nice but what I used was heavy duty zip ties witch worked great and much stronger then fishing line . You will need to drill your holes a little bigger . It’s a quick way to make a fisherman cart .👌
I bought two of the ugly stick pro light 7 foot medium heavy rods. It seems they only sell them at Walmart now I haven’t use them a whole lot yet but the medium heavy version is an absolute beast. I did catch a 18 pound flat head on it, no problem whatsoever. I know people laugh at me for buying that ugly stick, but those are just a good solid affordable rod.
Honest review! 👍
Good video. Just bought one of these today, now I know I can set it up myself. Thanks
Its not fair if you can see what your fishing theirs mostly trouts in the water
I have a 5,6 rod of the pack it and I haven’t tried it yet
I want one of these old rods
Are there flathead in the skunk river?
I have 5 Okuma baitrunners I use for catfishing. 1 ABF80, 2 ABF55 and 2 of the Ceymar CBF55's. They are great reels. Keep them clean and lubed and the will last you a good while.
The hogsucker be asking for it 😈
Yall cute.. I'm not that brave
Shoot a big smallie crush that guy ha
Thank you! I got the tent in the divorce and now I know I can set it up myself! I really appreciate this video ♥️
Looks like great fun! Good job. Suggestion 🙂- if you plan to put the fish back in the river, please do not touch the fish with dry hands. Wet your hands first. When you touch them with dry hands, you remove the slime coating (called an epidermal mucus) on their skin and they develop fungal diseases and die. I've seen many dead (or about to die) fish in rivers over the years with hand prints on them. You seem to really appreciate these critters which is very cool. Thought I would let you know for the future. Best of luck fishing!
The rod is great the reel seat is terrible it will break in 10 minutes after putting a reel in it tighten the reel and the reel seat breaks
Great video man it's going to save me tons of time. Thank you
Are these rods durable? I was looking into a good multi-species rod and I came across this. I’d like to use this rod for bass, walleye, pike, and maybe even some panfish. Do you think a medium power rod can handle a good sized pike?
Hello I got the 6’6custom gx2 medium mod fast rod can it be used on a pier with live bait and are they good with jigging
I also saw the review by i_fish and it was great but it didn't apply to me because I'm after the travel version for backpacking and wild camping trips. I'm so glad you made your review with the differences between the travel version and the 1/2 versions. The action is supposed to be stiffer in the travel version so I wanted to hear someone's take on it. I'd like to use it for small mouth, shad and the like on the Delaware up near water gap, but I'd like it to be light enough still to do some trout fishing in streams and tributaries in the area as well. An all around backpacking rod basically. One rod to rule them all lol. What length would you recommend as the most versatile? I think the 6'6" and 7' are the only ones that can take the 8lb test and 3/8 weight at the high end and may be needed on the main Delaware river plus the extra length to cast in the main river would be nice, I just don't wanna lose the ability to use it in a stream to
I've got a tiny sucker in my tiny tank right now. They both have blotches so it's hard to tell but I'm guessing it's a white because its face isn't as downward pointing. That's the only real distinction I can find, whites are blunt in comparison.
