The trick is finding them. It can be tricky to do from shore. But they are pretty aggressive fish overall. Now I need to find some of the big ones in the river. There are some monsters in there!
Great video Corey. I love fishing on windy days like that too. I almost always fish on the side of the lake that the wind is blowing against. Like you said you need to keep your casts low. Don't try to bomb them our there against the wind. I've had some of my best fishing on windy days.
Wow, I bet those White bass/ wipers fought really hard on 4lb test! Also do you think this wind strategy would work on rivers? I would think the current would probably hinder the effect in some areas.
It probably depends on the river. I didn't do as much smallie fishing this year, but it seemed to me that they bite more on windy days. My theory is that in smaller rivers the wind blows food like bugs out of the trees and into the water. I probably need to test this theory a little more, but if I had a choice of fishing a small river on a windy vs non-windy day, I would choose the windy day.
