- This video is a review of the Eagle Claw "Pack It" Travel Spinning Rod, specifically the 6'6 Medium power version. You can find it on Amazon here* amzn.to/33oWt2U for about $20.88 right now. This is a very good, inexpensive specialty rod that probably every multi-species or lifelist angler should have in their rod arsenal, whether it's as a travel rod, a back-up rod, or a bank fishing rod for smaller fish, there are many uses for this rod.
While it's not a great all-purpose rod because of its noodle-like flexibility, its low price makes for a fantastic second or third rod for certain situations. And its low price makes it accessible to everyone.

I have the 7'6 pack it spin and fly. It's the same one like yours but it can be converted to take a fly reel. I love these Eagle Claw rods. I have tones of high end Steelhead and trout and Salmon rods, but I love these little Eagle Claw travel rods the most. They have such a wonderful nostalgic look to them as well. I even use a centrepin reel on the rod when I need to cut down on length when fishing smaller streams with not much open casting room.
I'll probably be getting the spin and fly as well. My current fly rod is a little too stiff for most of the small creeks and ponds I use it on.
@@teamcramerfishing8441 I'm going to buy one or two more of them myself. I'm from Canada and I bought mine on Amazon.ca , the year before they ran out completely. That's why I'm going to buy another one incase if they become hard to get again like what happened two years ago. I'll tell ya a little trick, lube up all of the Ferrules with fishing oil or grease. Lubing them up once is enough. That way the pieces will insert smoothly and disconnect smoothly. How is your 6'6 pack it spinning version when it comes to putting it together and taking it apart ?
@@machinegun3133 It was a little tough to put together at first. I'm sure a little lube would help. I would rather have it too tight than too, though.
Fantastic review video nicely done my friend
Thanks, Elstan.
It be nice to see it in action, such as a cast and also a close up view of the reel in action while seeing how the line reacts in relation to the eyelets.
It's pretty handy and fun for such a cheap rod.
I have the 7'- 6" if you find an "Echo Carbon" tube and 4-piece sleeve that went with the rod, it will fit perfectly. very sensitive.
I bought this pole for my motorcycle, so i can chuck it in the sie bag.
The pole is fine, it works well and is better than I thought itd be.
I never even chanced the reel. I immediately chucked my pflueger presidential on it and its great.
My bad, i thought u were reviewing the telescoping rod lol. Not this travel type.
I like the telescoping rod. I dont care at all, as long as it lasts me the summer with low use. I dont fish a lot, but i like riding my motorcycle to destinations, so this opens those destinations to being able to be fishing destinations now which is awesome.
For 20 bucks you can't go wrong. Awesome review!
It's practically free! :)
I have a 5,6 rod of the pack it and I haven’t tried it yet
Love you video!
How is the eagle claw rods compared to daiwa?
Looking into a 4pcs travel rod.
Unsure from a daiwa presso 7ft or eagle claw fly/spin combo 7ft6in…
They are both in the 90$ range…
What do you think?
*ive seen your daiwa presso review too… just no compare with the presso right
Does it have box or bag for carrying?
Leader and tippet size?
Is it for trout to?
Yeah, you can use it for trout.
Would u change the line
If a combo comes with line, I almost always change it.
you said spinning reel at the start of the video but its about a rod anyway good review
Yeah, I know. 'Rod' should have flashed on the screen as a correction. I guess 99% of the time when I start with "spinning" then "reel' is the next word that follows. :) My brain couldn't handle the change.
Mine is a one piece glass rod.
Probably has a little more flex being a 1 piece.
