Coleman Weathermaster Tent: How long does it take to set up?

  • I've had a few questions on my previous Coleman Weathermaster review video about how long it takes to set up. I hadn't used the tent for about a year, but we finally got it out to use last week, and I figured I'd shoot a live video of me setting up the tent to see how long it takes one person to do. While I didn't film it as an instructional video for the set-up, I do explain what it is I'm doing along the way, so it might help someone with the basic set-up as well.

    So your instructions were really helpful for this 73 year old woman to figure out how to set my Coleman tent up. We have a second home in NC and with COVID I am not comfortable staying in a hotel/motel. And I have three dogs! Lol. M husband thinks I am crazy but now that I have watched your video I was successful setting it up in the back yard. I have to get the dogs use to this! I think it will be a no brainer now that I did it once. Looking forward to the experience. I haven’t done this since I was a kid! Thanks again!

    setting mine up again and wanted to see a video. This was so helpful. i kept mine up for months and roof got some sun damage - i’m going to make a second tarp fly to fix that. So anyone thinking about wanting to keep it up for an extended time would be wise to put it under another structure or put a tarp over it. It is waterproof before sun damage. It is a wonderful tent with excellent ventilation.

    I’ve been seriously considering buying this one, but worried about setting it up on my own. Watching this convinced me that I could do it by myself. Thanks!

    I'm re-watching this( bc I think I may have forgotten something, been awhile🤔) and I had to chuckle at the part where you mention, as an aside, "the Coleman patch (on rainfly)goes in front..middle"
    bc the first time setting up mine, it turned dark and a bit windy, still it was relatively easy , thanks to watching your video. when I got to the rainfly I laid it out and couldn't tell one side from the other, then I remembered your comment. I said " Go YOU !" outloud, ☺ and wrapped it up. finding that little red patch at the end of a very long day...yay.
    Btw LUV this tent! but agree, a smaller pop-up has it's uses too, next purchase~

      Thanks for the comment. I used this tent for so many years, and at the end of last summer, I finally retired it. It really is a good all around tent that does everything good enough, as long as you don't mind the heavy weight. I've been testing some smaller 6 person tents, and I might have some videos on those in the future even though I don't fish as much as I used too, we still camp a lot and did a big trip through California and Arizona last year with a new tent and will do Appalachia this year with another new tent.

    Incredible to have set up the tent alone !!! I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina and I have one just like I haven't been able to use yet. Thanks for the video, I don't understand the language, but it was very instructive. I also have a youtube channel. TINOVIAJERO. A big hug to the distance

    Just curious, if you were at a small camp site and there isn't enough room, can you just leave that screen room part down or would it mess with the structure of the other part of the tent?

    • @teamcramerfishing8441
      @teamcramerfishing8441  Před 2 lety

      It would definitely mess with the structure of the tent if you didn't use the screen room.

    I realize this video is 2. Yrs old..We are just getting into car camping and looking to purchase our first tent. This is one that I am interested in. I like the ventilation, but does anyone have experience with using it in the Spring when temps can be from 30’s-50’s at night in the south? Will we freeze in those temps with the ventilation?

      @mokanlandpro-matwescoat6095 Před 26 dny

      I personally LOVE camping when it’s in the 40s overnight. You can snuggle into a sleeping bag and worst case scenario, wear a beanie or hoodie. Down into the 30s you’ll likely want a mummy sleeping bag, but it’s still a great temperature to be out. You can always add a buddy heater to warm up in the morning

      I'm going to guess if Coleman doesn't have one on their site or via customer service, it's going to be hard to find.

    • @teamcramerfishing8441

      Well, I don't think any tent is waterproof, but it does a pretty good job keeping most water out.

    You must be really tall. At 5’5 I needed my wife’s help with the rainfly 😂

    • @teamcramerfishing8441
      @teamcramerfishing8441  Před 3 lety +1

      I'm about 6'. There are a couple of tricks I probably could have explained when it comes to putting on big rain flies. The main one is to get one corner attached and then grab the guy wire of the opposite side and hold that wire while dragging the actual rainfly over the top of the tent to the far corner. It's a little tricky with this one because there are so many things for the ropes and hooks to catch on as you're trying to pull it over, but it's a pretty good technique. Also attaching the front to the velcro above the door first helps a little bit, too.

    6, 8 or 10 person?

    • @teamcramerfishing8441
      @teamcramerfishing8441  Před 2 lety

      The labeling on these can be weird sometimes. I consider this a 6 person if you just count the non-screened in area. Sometimes I've seen them referred to as a 10 person, but it's not. With cots, we can fit a family 4 with a little room to spare.

  • @ingeniousviralproducts

    Your video has that very little delay, guess you set it on 60p for a 4k output. Try just 30p and it will be perfect. Great overall production anyway.
