Jan, why do you not sew the zipper tabs into the seam allowance?
genius
Agreed!!!!!!!!
If nothing else, quilting instills the life lesson: TRUST THE PROCESS Thisc was magical! Thank you for your very methodical instruction. As a novice, I greatly appreciate it. 😊
Amazing TIP!!! ❤❤❤❤😊 Thank you so much!!
Thank you for sharing the link for the PUL.In the video when working with the PUL, it gives a idea of the feel where other wise impossible to tell when just ordering. and of course the simplistic and direct directions of putting the 3 differnt styles together. The technique of the bias tape is a keeper. .
Beautiful, love your color choices 😀
Most of my quilts have stretch....is it ok to make a quilt with it?
Do you mean that most of your jeans have stretch? Yes you can.
Where can I get that grid base you have laid out on the table to measure to from?
That is a cutting mat underneath the pattern. You don't need that to assemble tha pattern.
@@JanHowell OK, thank you.
Awesome 🤗🙌
Thanks 🤗
Thank you🙌🤗
You are so welcome
thanks. haven’t sewn in years and want to make a gathered skirt for around a laundry sink
That would be fun!
Thank you so much, this made my Mothers Day (a gift from my son) very special. I opened up the box this morning and having never used a serger before, it took me awhile. This video plus the manual made it happen.
That is so exciting!!!! Yay!
Excellent 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazingly Wonderful
Thank you! 😊
Really greate creation idea thank you 🙏🏻
Most welcome 😊
Thank you so so much for this tutorial! I'll need to watch this video when I make some for the first few times and I appreciate that I can keep referring back to it! I LOVE your spirit and your channel 😃😍
Thanks. You are so kind!
I missed the measurement of the lining . A fun pouch ❤
It's 9 x 7 inches.
extremely helpful!😀
I'm glad!
Your instructions are spot on. I have quickly made one pouch and ready to make a second one! Thank you Jan!
wonderful! You are so welcome!
Brilliant and adorable leggings!
Thank you!
Wow super ❤❤❤
Thanks 🤗
It's a great video but I don't understand the measurements. Is the width of the fabric 44" ? What is the length?
Yes, correct. It's 45 inches. the length is 20 inches.
Thankyou 🙂
Thank you Jan I love these and can’t wait to make a pair
You are so welcome!
Thanks. Very helpful.
You're welcome!
such a good video to learn from!! thanks for sharing your wisdom!!
You're so welcome!
Are you using one or two needles?
One needle. Just sewing several rows.
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure
I am not clear how you have closed the bottom edge of the vinyl pocket? I don’t see any seam or binding on that bottom edge. Otherwise , a very clear tutorial😊
You just topstitch the bottom 1/8 from the edge of plastic.
🤗👍
👍
I just followed this tutorial to make a bread bag. Very nice. I'm impressed with the little extra finishing details and with the way the bag ties. Thank you!
Wonderful! You are so welcome!
I hang the duvet over the barristers on the landing and then put cover on find it the handiest way
Thanks for sharing
Very pretty , thank you for show me . I made several with the names in embroidery.
Wonderful!
Great instructions! Thank you 🙏. I love how you sewed the top of the pockets to the waistband! Perfect! ❤
Thanks so much! 😊
I did it!! Yay!! 22:22
Awesome!!!!
Thanks for your simplicity in explaining the entire process
You are so welcome!
This is brilliant! Thank you so much for the tutorial.
You are so welcome!
she literally just saved me so much sweat and stress trying to change my duvet cover what a queen xxxx
wonderful
But the finish block is not square. You should have squared it up. Disappointing!
She absolutely does trim the squares after the paper has been removed. I feel you get a more accurate trim after the paper is removed and I guess she does too😊
Doesn’t the blanket sag? There’s nothing holding it together in the middle?
If you make a blanket any bigger, you will need to stitch or quilt the center. I have a tutorial showing you some ideas here. czcams.com/video/rY6-WM0ykyU/video.htmlsi=rwzlb5l-TSc4hpUb&t=890
What a great 💡 idea. Thanks Do you make ones for the bed?
I have a pattern already designed, but have not yet made the video for it.
Hi Jan! I made this caddy for my sewing machine. I never thought of making a caddy. So cool! Thank you so much!!!
You are so welcome!
I very much enjoyed your video tutorial on bucket hats. I watched several different videos on how to make it and followed 3 different methods. One turned it at the brim, one on the side and your where you separately connect the outside and inside to the brim 1st and then turn it. In your method, the brim is sewn to both the inside and outside of the hat at the same time. Your method is the best because after the hat is turned, the brim is secured through the outside and lining of the hat. In addition, the topstitching in your tutorial made it look better when finished, and I really like the cord and zip thingy, and even put some grommets on one of them. Thank you for a well thought out and easy to follow tutorial.
Thanks. You are so kind!
I can't find your tutorial on how to buy and use zippers by the yard. Where would I find that please and thank you.
zippers by the yard link geni.us/SpMRL
here is the link where I show you how. czcams.com/video/ImW-WFS6ak8/video.htmlsi=4CjHgc1nsqzMBwob&t=672
You keep saying plastic zipper teeth. Do you by chance mean nylon?
Yes
Hi , I don’t know if you will respond to this , can you please explain to me why you have to cut corners and leave small holes for inner bag? Is it for ventilation for seeds?
When you trim the corners, you DO NOT cut into the seam. This will not create a hole. I hope that is helpful.
@@JanHowell oh ok thanks for your answer! I asked because I thought you trimmed the corners to create tiny holes. It looks like you made holes in the corner when you watch the video.
What a great video. I'd like to ask a question. When you measure the elastic around your waist, you said to "take off 4 inches." But did you mean to add 4 inches? Or do you actually take off four inches from that measurement because you know the elastic will stretch? Thank you!
Yes, exactly. However, some elastic may stretch more than others. Test it out to see how long you will need and then take away some. If you don't it won't pull the pants in.
Thanks for such an informative video 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Wondered why I was having some trouble following the instructions. My duvet has the same colour on both sides, so I had to look carefully for the pattern. Got it eventually. Noticed your duvet is 2 colours.
Great to hear!
Absolutely the best tutorial i have followed. Thanks for posting this. ❤
Wow, thank you!
