Earlier this year I purchased striped fabric just to use as binding because I adore that "piano keys" look. Thanks for sharing, Jan! Im a newbie at binding 😊

Such a helpful video. I am going to make my first quilt soon, I am expecting a grandson in March! I look forward to hand quilting it also. Your video on that was very helpful to me too. Thank you so much.

Circumference is for a circle. Perimeter is for a shape that has distinct sides.

I think I missed the part about how wide to determine the binding. If I want a 1/2" finished binding I need to allow 2" plus turn of cloth to wrap the quilt edge. That seems it could work for single binding, that I press into my own tape (centers to middle and then fold in half). But if I am using a double fold like you demonstrate, would I need 3"? I like 3/8" finished binding width. I machine sew on the back and turn to front

If you follow the method I show, you should get that 3/8 inch finished binding. It depends on the thickness of your quilt. If in doubt, test out a few widths to see what you like.

Does your strips bow in the center. Though I use an Accuquilt for doing strips. Down Fault dies are expensive.

      No

Be sure to square up your fabric before cutting. That will prevent the bowing. I am sure there are videos to show you how to do it.
