- In this sewing tutorial, I will show you how to make an under-the-table sewing tool caddy. This pocket caddy allows you to have your sewing tools close, but not sitting right in your lap. No more frustration trying to find what you need. #janhowell #youmakeitsimple
You will learn how to add a clear vinyl pocket, sew a mitered corner, do free-motion quilting, and apply quilt binding/bias tape.

Jan, you are so creative and helpful. Thanks for sharing your videos and skills. I recently made a baby blanket and bibs for a baby shower-wish I could show you a pic here. Again, thanks.
Jan I REALLY like your tutorial for the caddy
Hi Jan! I made this caddy for my sewing machine. I never thought of making a caddy. So cool! Thank you so much!!!
You are so welcome!
Thank you, Jan, Great pattern and some very clever tips. Turning the curved side of the Wonder Clips down is so helpful. I have used the clips like this for my EPP's, works great with arthritic hands.
You are so welcome!
Neat job! Very useful & easy, too. 😊 Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Love it, love all your tutorials
Thanks. You are so kind!
This is very pretty and a great idea! One mod I want to try out - adding ties, so that I can easily slip out the caddy, tie it up and take everything to the couch, etc. for a hand stitch session! ❤👌🏼
great idea
Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Learning a lot, thank u
Glad to hear that
I like this idea of it being out of the way. But I have a really old cabinet, about the width of my machine. May I will put on the side. Love your instructions.
Thank you!
Great idea.
Thanks!
What a beautiful idea! I really like it. I only found it hard to see the free hand embroidery (something I need to try) with same color thread, otherwise, GREAT tutorial, as always❤
I will be doing some more free hand sewing in the future with up close shots and more detail. Thanks for the feedback.
Just what I need. Thanks.
You are so welcome!
Love your under table helper.
Thank you!
What a great 💡 idea. Thanks Do you make ones for the bed?
I have a pattern already designed, but have not yet made the video for it.
👍👍👍👍❤❤
❤ Thanks. You are so kind!
How does it attach under the table Jan. I have to work off my dining table!
I show you at the end of the video.
I am not clear how you have closed the bottom edge of the vinyl pocket? I don’t see any seam or binding on that bottom edge. Otherwise , a very clear tutorial😊
You just topstitch the bottom 1/8 from the edge of plastic.
