I would think twice before planting Bermuda grass.

My home is in a HOA. And Bermuda grass is forbidden. When you live is a neighbor with a HOA you better read the fine print. You can have only plant certain types of trees and the number of trees you can have on your property. I tried this grass called Bella blue grass which only comes in plugs no seed, but it is a blue grass I planted 72 plugs in a 10' X 10' aera in the spring and completely filled in by the end of the summer and so for it is doing great, but I never hear anyone talk about the grass.

If you do not take time with your kids. you will wake up one day they will be gone Grown up and doing their own thing. My family aways came first Now at 68 years old I always wonder where time went but every week, I made sure I spend a lot of time with my kids.

I live in Maryland Heights, Mo and had over 7" of rain in less than 3o days. It is unusually wet month and did not need to run my sprinkler system yet.

I am old and have bad knees. There is no way for me to stand on a sprayer. Do they make a sprayer for large property owners that you can sit on?

Pete, honestly speaking it doesn't matter what kind of grass you are growing, you can grow it with the best of them. Family time is so important these days. If the Bermuda provides an oppurinty to spend time with children I am all for it. TBH i am killing off my bermuda in my front yard and planting clover, due to me not having time to maintaing the bermuda. No matter what you decide to do, I am still a die hard devoted fan of yours, you have thought me so much, that I actually used when I had my lawn business. My recomendation would be the Celebration Bermuda. I had a client that had this in thier front yard, I mowed it low and it was always dark green and beautiful. I guess what I am trying to say in laymen's terms. "You do what you feel you need to do for you and your family, and don't care about what others think."

Eh, Bermuda is brown 7 months of the year. I stick with my 2 months of fescue being brown .

Why don't you try bluemuda a mix of Kentucky bluegrass and Bermuda I hear a lot of people trying it here in the transition zone I might give it try one day in the future but so far I've been keeping with my Kentucky bluegrass in Tennessee but I am thinking of trying it one day but so far my job doesn't keep me away from my life at home like my last job when I transfered to another department that helped balance everything out now, when I was at my last department I went with Bermuda cause I didn't have the time to do the lawn work I do now

So if you have a stand of bermuda, what are you going to do if tttf starts creeping back into your bermuda? LoL you need to get your hose end sprayer filled with soap and hit those hot spots. Once you figure out how many gallons of water you use in irrigation season, you can build a huge cistern in back yard! Maybe the ground water will improve in the future? If you’re going to move, do you think an astute home buyer will want to manage a bermuda lawn? I threw up some ideas here. I’ve never grown bermuda, but I think it sounds like a big change, especially in the beginning. If my neighbor had a new bermuda lawn intersecting my lawn I do think it would require me to do something I don’t particularly relish.

There is always an option of bluemuda, almost like self healing all year long? @thelawntools are doing it.

I feel you Pete. Going to take a stab at Texas SPF 30 Bluegrass this fall because the fescue is wearing me out. If that fails next summer, I’m going Bermuda where I can and leaving the SPF 30 where it’s needed in the shade.
