And to be quite honest I have thought about switching over myself due to the summer’s and the stress it just put’s on my fescue and I am looking for something easier that can take the heat and not cost me an arm and leg in Irrigation. At my old house I ended up switching to Zorro Zoysia and I absolutely loved it. So like you said it is your yard and I will continue to watch and support you here from TN.

Let’s do this Pete! I have Zoysia sod in my upstate SC front and sides and a gorgeous ‘weed bed’ in the back. 🤣 I’ve been planning to smoke ‘em off and start a full reno in the back yard (~14k sq.ft.) with Zoysia or Bermuda. Don’t worry about losing viewers, I’ve been here with you for over 3 years and never once worried about your grass type. It’s more about the man and our shared passions. God, family, work ethic, and Grass. Probably a lil’ equipment envy in there too. 🤪

I have a nice lawn during the Fall and Winter. Mine doesn't really look dull until late December or early Jan. I usually get a final cut and trim in around the week of Thanksgiving or the first week of Dec when I get up the last of the falling leaves. Pete I live in hamlet nc now and I tried the tall fescue when I planted my new yard which was trees for many many years. It did ok last fall had a green yard all winter with fescue and rye. Spring came and it went dormant and summer grass has taken over. Since before the drought I’ve watered my 1 acre of grass 3 times a week when the drought came almost my whole yard died out now I have almost a full yard of Bermuda/ st Augustine. Water hasn’t stopped and I’ve applied fertilizer every 3 weeks regardless of rain amounts. We just had several hrs of rain over the last week and the summer grass is thriving. I learned this past year to let the grass that wants to be there grow and maintain it and you will be happy with it

I’ve been struggling to maintain a PRG lawn in KY and it’s such a pain. Water, fungicide, heat stress…the list goes on. I appreciate you taking the time to weigh the benefits and drawbacks of both. After the recent rain, the fescue has recovered and looks almost as vigorous as the bermuda. Have had some very short periods where it looked great and I love the striping. But it only looks great for a very short time of the year - it just can't stand up to the long hot summer here. Two questions, you are known for your stripping of your lawn and I currently have Emerald Zoysia front lawn and I know warm season grass doesn’t stripe as well as cool season, how will this affect your decision process? Secondly looking at purchasing your GCI Alpha Elite Bermuda grass seed for my back yard, why go with springs instead of seed?

@@chriskemp6636 I’ve cut as low as 5/8 last year with a reel mower in it’s first season but that was too low without the yard being leveled so it didn’t look the best even the grass seemed to be able to take it. I have Celebration in my yard. I chose this because I only have 6-7 hours of sun. So it works better in the shade than 419 or TifTuf.
Also, it has a more sense root system so while 419 and TifTuf are very drought tolerant, Celebration is even better.
I’m in Clayton NC so I feel you when you tell about hot and dry. I watch storm after storm split and go around me.
But the Celebration stood strong. 2+ months with no water and it was thriving. Only recently did it show any hot spots and they were taken care of by the rain we finally got Friday.
So I’m good for the rest of the summer. 😂😂

Pete, honestly speaking it doesn't matter what kind of grass you are growing, you can grow it with the best of them. Family time is so important these days. If the Bermuda provides an oppurinty to spend time with children I am all for it. TBH i am killing off my bermuda in my front yard and planting clover, due to me not having time to maintaing the bermuda. No matter what you decide to do, I am still a die hard devoted fan of yours, you have thought me so much, that I actually used when I had my lawn business. My recomendation would be the Celebration Bermuda. I had a client that had this in thier front yard, I mowed it low and it was always dark green and beautiful. I guess what I am trying to say in laymen's terms. "You do what you feel you need to do for you and your family, and don't care about what others think."

To fix the thought of people Not wanting to watch your videos anymore because of changing from fescue to whatever you decide maybe you can get both out of both worlds. Meaning maybe making videos from fescue yards you take care of from your business. That way everyone can still see fescue, Kentucky blue or rye. either way I’m NOT going anywhere.
