The addition of those big giant statues + some of the machinery and moving parts definitely tips the scales from “mysterious nostalgia dreamscape” to “sinister hellscape” for me. Without those I think the architecture is almost comforting, but something about this game makes the architecture feel like… actively spiteful. Taunting in some way. It definitely comes across like a sort of limbo for lost souls.

At the time of the original demo, myself and many others didn't realize the true depth of the puzzles and the so called "updates". That version ended with real life ARG elements and the community had been waiting for more. So exciting!

its quite funny to me how so many people feel uncomfortable in those pool rooms. i actually find this rather relaxing tbh ^^. while watching this i was simply in awe at the sheer perfection many of these rooms showed. all those lil tiles perfectly built next to each other. it must have taken a shitton of construction workers to get this done! xD until you spot slight imperfections, like those ceiling tiles that look like they have gravel or dirt on them, or the circular stair amidst the water that have perfectly intertwined stairs without a gap, until you reach the last step and suddenly have a big hole there.

If Time is 4th Dimensional. What would a 4th Dimensional entity look in the 2nd dimension? Also, is there a fifth dimension at this point?

The human statues are all in anguish, and the sheep is just lounging. The sheep is definitely the overlord of the pools.

To be honest, I watch a lot of your long-form videos as semi background noise that I will pay more attention to when your commentary suggests something really cool is happening. So in that sense, I will always choose the commentary audio track. But if there's not a ton of work in having a separate audio track with no commentary, I'd say there's no downside and to keep doing it. It's a cool feature by CZcams and it'd be good for more content creators to take advantage. If channels seem to not be utilizing it, CZcams will probably either drop it altogether, or deprioritize improving it and supporting it.

To be fair, I'd also shit my pants if I was in the pool rooms and turned a corner to see a hallway of statues (mannequins?). EDIT: "I'm not me anymore" Is such a good fucking horror line, holy shit. That sent chills down my spine.

Honestly I love the poolrooms. There's something so nostalgic, peaceful, calming & beautiful about them. I think spending a week in them with a couple of friends (with all the food for survival) would be an incredible experience, since in Backrooms lore, there are no dangers in the poolrooms. The calming sound of dripping & running water, the lovely smell of chlorine & all the slides, pools & saunas you could ask for. There's a reason I'm workshopping a story that takes place in the Poolrooms.
