A little fun fact to detail the sector's names Urd, Skuld and Verd is a reference to old norse mythology of the norn or the three sisters of fate. The first one is Urd which represents the past, The next one is Verdandi which represents the present, and the last one is Skuld which represents the future.

More on that the sisters weave on their looms the threads of fate the become knotted and twisted with others. As the thread progresses fraying and discoloration of the thread would mean bad omens with the more severe the impact on the thread reflecting the severity of the event on one’s own life after leaving the thread a different color, texture, or severing it entirely.

29:50 Wee bit of trivia then, those signs say "Alive" because Carnival freakshows often advertised fantastic creatures and such, but some of them were "dead", usually because they were like.. half a beaver stitched to half a rabbit or something. The "Alive" exhibits were a living being, usually a performer with some physical deformity or.. well, just anyone "different" could end up a Carnival freak. The history is fascinating, if a bit unpleasant to be reminded how terrible humans can be to each other sometimes.

Wow. Just finished a full watch of this. Holy shit. We went from psychological thriller to eldritch horror to sci-fi dystopian conspiracy seamlessly and believably. The scares were done incredibly well, weren't over the top, and kept the pace going. The music is amazing, the visuals are stunning, and the voice acting is top notch. Well done devs. This has got to be a strong candidate for at least indy game of the year. Thanks for the great long form content as always IGP!

Why do I read comments before finishing... Im very dumb. If you see this could you do folks a solid and consider editing out the mention of sci fi? Might save people a bit more of the mystery in case they repeat my mistake. I do very much agree with you, incredible game, and that music was specifically phenomenal for sure. Voice acting was so smooth.
@@Dr.GonnaButter It's the age old mistake of going down to the comments when watching someone play a game with a heavy emphasis on story. I've done it, you've done it, a lot of people have and will do it, but at least we learn our lesson after the mistake to not go down into the comments before finishing the video.
A side note: I sometimes feel that going down to the comments and reading that something extremely wack is gonna happen sometimes makes me even more involved in the video. This doesn't happen very often though...

One thing that didn't sit right with me was the ending. Why would Liam kill everyone, make it to the memory wipe machine, only to turn around and walk all the way back to his testing chamber?
I don't think Liam killed anyone. The gun at the end was covered with blood, most likely meaning the person to use it was injured, but Liam's only injury was the headaches returning. He was fine otherwise.
If you take note in the room with the scenarios that they'd planned out (2:30:40), you'll notice one table with "waiting in secret". This scenario seems to involve a war veteran that is struggling with PTSD. The whiteboard even mentions in very large letters "STRESS", "HEIGHTEN ADRENALINE" and "TRAUMA. PSYCHOSIS".
I believe the test subject that was exposed to this memory had escaped, stole a guards firearm (the whiteboard mentions "stealth" too), and using the military training that had been implanted in his memory, escaped from the facility before you. I believe by the time he reached the machine he was too injured from a gunshot wound (hence the blood on the gun and out in the exit) to use the machine, and didn't want his body to be left in a facility it would never be found.
I believe he escaped, used the medical equipment on the way out of the facility and died shortly after (the whiteboard also mentions that this scenario was given to 'Subject 034'. Looking at the room that shows each test subjects vitals (2:26:24), you can see that Subject 34 is deceased)
he only thing that goes against this theory is Liam hearing them being shot. My only thought is this is just him filling in the blanks.

During the search of all the company computers at the end you can also read their emails. You learn how an employee had left her gun unsupervised at her desk previously and she'd been in trouble. How the building he's exploring is only the ARIZONA location, there are more elsewhere, how many idk.. and also that they'd recently used memory replacements on a high up government official with dementia and had been successful (so they were trying to use it for good I guess lol). Also, there was an email saying to make Martha Chinese because of where Liam had been living and the girl was annoyed to have to change her. That's just it off the top of my head but I thought they were interesting.

Interestingly, the fair labor standards act of 1938 has an exception for child actors (circus performers) even to this day (a few states have laws addressing this like California and New York for example). So the circus contract didn't explicitly break any laws especially since they'd "received," the parents consent to allow the child to perform. However, forging the father's signature would've likely voided the contract. Also, the contract doesn't offer a clause for severance or termination which may have been grounds for later terminating the contract. Furthermore, while a child cannot agree to a work contract by themselves they can terminate a work contract themselves.

CZcams has apparently turned around and now wants creators to push longer videos, so we're probably gonna see more stuff like this from everyone. I know my boy Cleetus McFarland has been dropping hour long videos recently too and I love it.
I swear to god, if that's true CZcams is fucking mental. First, they punish people for making the content they want, consequently pushing a lot of the viewers that prefer long-form content to Twitch and such, THEN they revert on that decision and (probably) penalize shorter vids

I live in Tampa I've gone down to the sunshine drag strip and I plan on visiting the freedom factory soon. Probably as a spectator. But I've got vehicles that could participate in some shenanigans.
Honestly though I haven't watched a lot of recent content because there's too many different cars and boats and helicopters now and feel like it dilutes the magic. Leroy and the Dale truck and the the spaghetti wagon, neighbor, etcetera we're all characters and now we never get to see them because they're always on to the next thing which I guess has its own benefits... the brand new top of the line parts for everything kind of feels out of reach but at least Leroy got into the sevens. That's all that matters.

Interesting tidbit: (SPOIL)
The email date compared to the system clock date on the computer show that 11 days have passed since the lockdown began. Presumably that lockdown was when your character first awakened and escaped. He then murdered everyone and put himself back in the memory loop. It ran another 11 days (though it's possible it crashed more times and he restarted it again during that time and no longer remembers it) before the start of the game.
That, plus the elaborate security that he goes through to get to the location probably mean that those murders will never be officially discovered or pinned on him. Presumably someone else in the organization will eventually come along and find out what happened, but he'll be long gone by then. Assuming he left.
Except maybe the one who might have escaped and bandaged themselves at the end after the keycard was used. My reasoning for thinking this is because I don't think Liam would have just turned around and said "let's go back and put the circus memories on" after using the keycard and being only a hallway away from escaping, so my theory is that someone who he shot used their own keycard and ran through that doorway, and tried to treat themselves with the first aid kit we see laying on the flight of stairs.
It's a reach maybe, and also there is blood under the mop, which could mean he tried to cover it up. Not sure haha
@@IGP Yeah, admittedly those marks in the hallway shortly after you leave that room are a little anomalous. Especially since there's no more after a certain point, so it doesn't seem like someone escaped. It's an odd detail.
@@IGP it looks as if the footprints in the hall at the very end turn back around they don't actually go out the door. I'd assume Liam went through that hall was going to leave with both sets of memories thinking to chance it if he would die or not because it progresses slower in him but when he got to the door he turned back the first time, look at the footprints throughout the game there seems to be 2 sets as if he turned back around and when back to the room.
Wasn't subject 8 also alive? Could they be the one that killed everyone and went back to free Subject 7?
@@RyanFrankenbergoh that's a nice catch! I did see the footprints but was so focused on leaving I just assumed they were just graphical fidelity decisions. They do like like they turn around. Perhaps one of the times Liam woke up he turned around unsure if he would die

It’s not often you hear youtubers actually discuss their thoughts of the gameplay as deeply and emotionally invested as IGP does it, and to be quite frank it’s nice how in depth he goes into speaking about details! The company's name is Norn, which is the norse equivalent of the 3 fates. Their names are Skuld, Urd, and Verdandi. When I first saw the logo it reminded me of Abstergo, which lets face it this is totally something they would do.

AUGH I’M so glad you played this game! The first time I watched someone else play this game I was just as blown away as you were IGP! One thing I was hoping you would notice is a very small detail with the dates on the computers with the emails. If you compare the email dates with the current dates, you’ll notice that this lockdown had been happening for about 8-9 days I believe it is, possibly even ten. Which means you put yourself back into the loop, and either it took you 8-10 days to break out of again, orrrrrrr, you kept going back in consistently. Or maybe neither, but my point is that the lockdown has been going on for a longtime in the game, about 8-10 days. Very small detail, but one I find quite interesting! Anyway, glad you played the game and enjoyed it! Always love the longer videos, but I do know they also take a lot more time and work and effort to put together so I appreciate the longer vids a hell of a lot more! Always giving us the top quality content for free lol! Love you bro, keep it up, drink water, eat, and take care of yourself!😊😊
OH! YOUR COMMENT TRIGGERED MY BRAIN!!! The intro to the game is exactly what we see at the end when we decide to stay with the circus memories. That means the very beginning must have been our most recent decision to stay with the circus memories after "waking" up. Wow, didn't even click until now for some reason. I wonder if it's the day before/same day, or if it was right after the killings.

19:09 I know this isn’t a game about lucid dreaming but I do wanna say it is worth teaching yourself how to do. And surprisingly not hard. If you do wanna learn how to lucid dream here are some starting steps
1.start a dream a journal, you might think you don’t dream but this is completely untrue you just forgot if you just keep your eyes closed for an extra 1min after you wake up and focus it should come back to you (the journal doesn’t have to be anything special it can be on your notes app or a literal journal as long as long as you’re writing you dreams somewhere accessible your fine)
2. Figure out your dream signs, there will be recurring things in your dreams. This can be a person, place, or even a theme like being lost or late to something. (Note these are fluid and change you will not have the same dream signs for your whole life)
3. Learn to reality check, reality checks are things you can do to see if your dreaming or not you will perform a reality check when you see a dream sign for example if one of your common dream signs is being late and you’re late to the bus perform a reality check. Or if you see a person common in your dreams perform a reality check. (Best reality checks are clamping your nose with your fingers and seeing if you can breathe, checking a DIGITAL clock looking away and looking back if it’s the same good if not normal or the time can be messed up like 16:93, another good one is reading something like a license plate and turning around and checking back. (Also very important you dont rationally in your dreams you will most likely try to convince yourself you’re not in a dream like maybe you think your clocks broken. It’s probably not your just dreaming if your not sure perform a different reality check.) also putting your finger through your palm is a terrible method you need dream control to do that
4. Dream control, you will most likely not have great dream control. But I found the best way to have good dream control is not creating things right in front of you. For example if your in a library it’s incredibly difficult to just change it to a beach but if you convince your self that if you pull a specific book in the library a door will open which will have a portal to a beach. Or convince your self that the thing you want is behind you or behind a door. also because dreams are based off basically what you believe will happen this makes nightmares f**king horrible if your lucid dreaming.
Also lucid dreaming is not fast to learn it may take up to a month or longer to have a true lucid dream (also if you’re having dreams about lucid dreaming good your close)
Bonus: watch “Lucid Dreaming Portal” he’s by far the best lucid dreaming CZcamsr.
Man i love watching as IGP trys to break down a game whilst playing, hes drawing a general idea of what the plot is in his head while im reducing what i see from both his perspective and my take from it. At the end it is fun to see how both of the ideas of the plot differ from the real ending. Really enjoy the vids, keep up the good work man.

I believe the moral of the story as shown by the 2nd (good) ending is, dont isolate yourself after traumatic events or with depression, ect... Spend time with family, friends, and others to and print yourself with important memories, so You're not as easily reporgramed. As shown by all the other subjects who had good memories of friends, family, work, ect... honestly sounds like it was made from the mind of someone who was going through some depression and or trauma That made the person isolate themselves, and learned that you need to keep moving and not give up on yourself. I know that feeling well. This game basically plays out the exact same way that the therapy works to get you back out of that dark space... Don't waste too much time people, you can do it, you can pull yourself up and out of it with a little effort and strength. 💪🏽
IGP, ur like my movie guy, when ever i see ur video and its over an hour im like, get my drink, get my food, sit back, and relax through this horror, also my fav video so far has been the one PS4 game with that huge lake monster. Finally finished watching this video and it is amazing. I love when IGP posts long videos especially in this genre because it allows me to feel either like I’m playing the game myself or that I’m not missing out on any details at all. IGP is one of the few YTers that does their best to show as much detail in the games they play and he in particular always leaves something for the viewers to want to go and play y the game to find more themselves. Love the video can’t wait to see more like this

I still think you're right in that the layers are deeper than Liam. The email stating that subject 7 was a special case and able to possibly withstand more dangerous memories and I think the whole murder and escape is exactly that, an experimental memory which also ties in to the other email from Evelyn stating that they want an outside trial so they now have a fake memory of Liam out in the world.
Walter was the first memory overwriting the original "unknown" subject 7, the second dangerous memory was to merge Walter and Liam and have them coincide to allow the memory of Liam to be more acceptable and therefor imprint at a higher success rate. The escape, the murders... all part of the plan.

The military experiment they explained they'd be getting into towards the end seems to be why they'd "let you out" while believing YOU were the cause of all those deaths, even though you had clearly just "escaped". They don't show what happens next, (or why they'd make you believe you'd need to use the machine again before leaving), but they clearly stated they needed a subject OUTside of the facility. It could be a set up to prep the charecter for the new project he's now a part of, perhaps?

But it's pretty much because of the gun's location, and the fact that there is blood OUTSIDE the locked security card door leading outside while the security card is inside on the desk. So it'd seem that who ever killed everyone came from outside, unless someone who was shot escaped but eh. Also you wake up in your cell and find everyone dead already, so unless you killed them while living the old memories which wouldn't make much sense.

I think that one guy who lifted that one ride up for you (1:56:50) he was dressed in white, is the real murderer. I believe he’s framed you as the one who murdered everybody, with his own memories and escaped before you did, patching himself up and making his great escape…

I got so excited when I saw this in my sub box, mostly because of the length and title. But after watching the first 5 minutes of gameplay I was like "Feels like I've seen this before...". And sure enough, I watched Skilly's video on it. But his was only a little over an hour, I believe. So I'm still so hyped to watch you playing it too.
