Holy crap I remember this. I don't remember if it was Manly or another CZcamsr I saw playing it but I remember it being creepy and interesting. You just unlocked a whole box of memories I'd hidden in the dusty attic of my brain.

A Pentium II... I still remember our C64 from my childhood. 64 because it had an astonishing 64kB of RAM... And the 5" floppy drive was bigger than the computer itself. At least we had this thing, before tapes were the only possibility to store games and programs. And you had to rewind the tape if you wanted to play again...

i think when i saw this game like couple years ago, it was based on the game that noone plays, but one, supposedly long gone character. the texting part at the beginning would be great for that A.I. NPC tech Nvidia's working on. (think it was Ubisoft that showed a demo recently?) Where it sort of directs you to a specific phrase or idea, to move the story along, but you can still talk to like a regular person. Basically Chat GPT but designed to focus you in a specific direction for gameplay purposes.
btw, the whole "i have a game i want you to play" is most likely a call back to the old netbus/sub7/back orifice backdoors back in the net's glory days. I remember the whackamole one, mainly..

man this brings me back, I did grow up in the era of dial-up and the interface of this virtual computer looks a lot like windows 3.1 and I grew up on that shit, and I loved it. this brings up so much good memories. though for dial up, everything is coming up soo fast from what I remember. LOL

Hey IGP! Wanted to let you know that you could’ve merged minesweeper with the fishing game and the dating sim together! Dating sim + minesweeper = a game where you have to successfully play minesweeper to give correct answers during a date (which I think you would have done very well!) and fishing game + minesweeper = a version of the fish game, but the fish are replaced with mines! Can’t wait for the full game to come out! 💚
I actually played this way back when, it's still in my library. It left a great impression that I think about this game fairly often, good to see that it's getting more recognition and updates

IGP talking about dial up and old computers has me thinking I might be slightly older...or maybe my grandparents were just late to the party. I remember playing games like Peter Rabbit in 1996-7 or something...and then of course Diablo1-2 and StarCraft a couple years later. Honestly those were pretty great times for me...lots of uniqueness and of course I could hear like a gem lmao.
I saw the original version too, but 2 minutes in and I've clearly missed a lot of development since that time. I'm intrigued to see where this is going.

a couple minutes in and for some reason it made me remember the game Scanner Sombre, and now i want igp to play it. If he hasnt already.
I remember we had some of those old computers in school. Until later they made enough money to get new Dell computers with lots of room to play games, go through the Internet and CZcams.
But now in this year the computer have so much power that we can play online games AND look something up...with cheat code and more!
I would swear you'd played this as part of a Three Scary Games thing with that late night survey game. It's been quite a while though. Was creepy back then- dev in game was trying to bring his dead wife back using the game. This took the creepy factor to a whole new level!

At the time of the original demo, myself and many others didn't realize the true depth of the puzzles and the so called "updates". That version ended with real life ARG elements and the community had been waiting for more. So exciting!

Definitely remember when this was making then rounds it was quite creepy back then, shocked as hell it continued to be developed. I mean even though it's ending if you want to call it that wasn't much, it didn't have to be, I think it had an ARG too but don't remember if it went anywhere.
You didn't play it? I SWEAR I remember you playing it back when you did face cam and stuff, I even remember you missing the first time the ghost flashes up before getting the first flag...
I think the reason CTF and FWK 2 combined is explained in the note about the pools not having water, by combining the 2 you added to the game

Just wondering if you’re planning on ever going back and finishing your playthrough of In Sound Mind. Even if it doesn’t perform well, I highly recommend it. It’s one of my favorite indie horror games of all time and I promise by the end you’ll love the game just as much as I do. I’d love to see you give it another shot
