Mickey Mouse Club: Talent Round-up Day Intro (Season 1)
zhlédnutí 90KPřed 13 lety
Friday was Talent-Round-up Day on the Mickey Mouse Club. This segment was usually followed by one or two performances by the Talent-Round-up winners. Many of these kids auditioned for the Mickey Mouse Club, and although they never joined the cast, they were invited to appear on the show where they received special mouse ears. Here is the Season 1 Intro and Roll Call... brought to you by Wheatie...
"Karen" by Jimmy Dodd featuring Mousketeer Karen Pendleton

Karen has always been one of my favorite mousketeers, but I never realized Jimmy Dodd wrote a song for her until I found it recently on an old Mickey Mouse Club record. Enjoy!
Rare Shirley Temple Recording "Someday You'll Find Your Bluebird" 1939
zhlédnutí 12KPřed 13 lety
During the Christmas Season of 1939, Shirley made her radio debut promoting her newest picture 'The Blue Bird.' In Shirley's autobiography, she recalls the event vividly. In the middle of the broadcast, a woman in the audience pointed a gun at her, intending to kill her in retribution for Shirley stealing her daughter's soul (she claimed her daughter died the same day Shirley was born). Shirley...
Rare Shirley Temple Song "Little Colonel" 1935
zhlédnutí 30KPřed 13 lety
In 1935, Shirley Temple starred in the movie 'The Little Colonel' with Lionel Barrymore. Based upon a popular children's book series, Shirley and her retired colonel grandfather shared the same fierce temper, hence her nickname "Little" Colonel. This particular song was not part of the film; rather, it was created to promote it. The recording you are listening to is from a children's 78 record ...

Judy Garland in "Pigskin Parade" 1936
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 13 lety
By 1936, Judy had appeared in several short films, but Pigskin Parade was her first appearance in a feature length movie. In this film, she sings three songs: "It's Love I'm After", "The Balboa", and "Texas Tornado." Wizard of Oz fans will recognize Jack Haley, the Tin Man, in an early role of his own. This movie is available on DVD and airs often on television.

It's Darlene's turn to introduce the day's Mousekartoon with a little help from Cubby. This entire episode of the Mickey Mouse Club is available on DVD as part of Spin and Marty Disney Treasures dvd set.
Judy Garland & Mickey Rooney "I Wish I Were in Love Again" 1948
zhlédnutí 278KPřed 13 lety
Mickey and Judy's last movie together, Words and Music, features a song that was eliminated from one of their earlier movies. "I Wish I Were in Love Again" was originally written for the stage version of Babes in Arms but was not included in the 1939 film.
Margaret O'Brien in Madame Curie
zhlédnutí 18KPřed 13 lety
After Margaret's success in "Journey for Margaret," MGM cast her in bit parts in several movies while "Lost Angel" was being prepared for her. In 1943's "Madame Curie," she plays the title character's daughter, Irene. The role isn't large and doesn't showcase her talent, but the film itself was nominated for an Academy Award. Gigi Perreau plays her little sister Eve.
Avonlea.tv: Remembering Jackie Burroughs
zhlédnutí 108KPřed 13 lety
Avonlea.tv pays tribute to Jackie Burroughs who starred as matriarch Hetty King on the series Road to Avonlea. While other characters from the show were drawn from the works of Lucy Maud Montgomery, Hetty King was original, and Jackie's portrayal of the perfectly flawed school teacher garnered three Gemini awards during the series' seven year run. Burroughs passed away on September 22, 2010.
Mickey Mouse Club "Merry Mousketeers"

In 1955, the very first episode of the Mickey Mouse Club introduced the world to the "Merry Mouseketeers." The first week of the show was released onto DVD as part of the Disney Treasures series a few years back, and as someone who had only seen the show in the syndicated 30 minute editions, it was a real treat to see how much the show evolved over time. I wish Disney would release more Club re...

Mickey Mouse Club "Super Goofy Shuffle" and "Donald Duck Walk"

It's Linda Hughes's birthday, and the Mousketeers are playing a game of Mouseketurntoentertain. Bobby demonstrates the Super Goofy Shuffle, Lynn has solo tap number, and the entire gang dances together for the Donald Duck Walk. If you are curious, there are ten birthday candles on Linda's cake, but she was most likely eleven (or close to it) when this was filmed for the third season in 1957.

A remarkable woman/actress and a remarkable show/series. A beautiful tribute! Thank you💗
Beautiful and well done!
I've been looking for this clip for YEARS!! Always my favorite as a little girl!
Tommy was the Mouseketeers best male singer, Darlene was supposed to be the best female singer. But Bonnie was pretty good as well. I wonder how many times they used her in skits like this.
Linda Hughes had such a lovely voice. She was an excellent dancer too. Amazing
This was before meet me in St. Louis aww ❤
Fantastic
Bobby was their best dancer, but he was getting a bit tall to fit in with the rest of the kids. I also notice Cubby and Karen aren't in a number of this scenes.
OMG. I love Goofy. When I see him in the parks, I greet him as bestie.
Outstanding Musical Number!
No one does the foot work as well as Kurt (unless it’s Scott Hamilton) …..Kurt is a Canadian gem.
"Full Metal Jacket" brought me here.
I do not get tired watching Brian's performance his taste of music performance entertainment is indeed awesome! Indeed Blessed a Champion in every way! Thank You Brian.
❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome❤❤❤
His skates, sense of humor and kind energy are magical! Love it!!
OMG black and white 📺 my grand daughter will see this tomorrow it's so long ago but I remember watching it on TV 📺
Marguerite is my favorite. I wish I can see all movies with her when she was a child.
As a Disney Club Co-President for my school, this is way too bittersweet and sad! I love MMC sm!
Long ago, in high school, my choir sometimes finished a set with,”Now it’s time to say goodbye…”. We improvised sixteen part harmony. Our director kind of let us get away with that. I miss these kids, and I miss our director (1920-2006). Music is timeless.
Oh, boy…That brings back memories.
After blowing out the candles - gotta have cake. Games later.😊
I didn’t have cable as a real young kid. So I only saw this when on vacations in my hotel room
This is such fun to watch over and over!
Leaving the TV on when I was a kid, then waking up at 2 am and seeing this into was actually felt kind of uncanny
Thanks for this! My fave, Darlene, gets a solo, singing “I wonder what I’ll be when I grow up….” Unfortunately she later did some check-kiting scheme and did hard time in the big house.
Can anybody tell me why Hetty uses to speak pronouncing strong r's in some words?
STORYJAN - Excellent compilation. Something to be proud of. I've watched all these episodes multiple times, and your tribute to Jackie touches me.
Tenían 18 años cuando se casaron!! ..... crecieron....
Wow I saw this for the first time just now and I can say without a doubt this is the best ending to an episode of a kids show. So sad and beautiful.
Hermos❤❤❤❤sssssss😮 🙌🇦🇷🤧
I will always be his-my fave skater of all time!
I use to get scared when this would start but then I’d fall asleep watching Zorro so all was okay lol
That makes me wanna play the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the wild, Ocarina of time again after seeing the pie already.
His aerial spins are always amazing, and his footwork can not be surpassed.
I saw Brian's "friend" Frank as the Phantom in SF years ago. Great voice. This is a beautiful piece.
I did as well. Only time I saw Phantom. Never thought I would want to see it without Crawford…I was wrong!
@@seamonkeyjh same.
Always remember this when I was a kid and watch it overnight. 😅
Awesome!!!Bravo 👏
We didn’t get this show on our one channel, but I could sometimes listen to a bit of it on the channel of the next city!❤

As Mouseketeer Sharon Baird remembered, “Jimmie was one of the nicest human beings I’ve ever known in my life. He was genuine and he didn’t speak down to kids, he included them. He was a great person to look up to.”

2:42 Johnny Crawford who stared as Mark McCain on The Rifleman. RIP😢
Written by James Wesley 'Jimmie' Dodd who died of cancer in 1964 at the young age of 54. ❤
Its not funny at all. Red skelton was definitely a comedian that dated fast.
Everybody fell in love with Annette.
