Before joining the cast of the Electric Company, Bayn Johnson starred off-Broadway in Curley McDimple, a "Musical Valentine to the Thirties." Curley McDimple was part satire/part tribute to Shirley Temple movies, and Bayn had the starring role. Around the same time, she recorded a Christmas novelty song "Christmas Teddy Bear" and on the B side "I'm Going to Write a Letter," played here. In this song, Bayn sounds a bit like Mae West, whom she also impersonated in Curley McDimple. Upon leaving Curley McDimple, Bayn donned her Shirley wig again for the tv series "What's it all About, World?" where she played a character named Happy Hollywood and later joined the cast of the Electric Company where she played Kelly, a member of the Small Circus.
    * I am currently searching for a complete version of "Christmas Teddy Bear," but you can hear a small clip on my blog. If you have the full version, please contact me. I'd love to hear it!
