Säntis - Hiking in Switzerland!
At 2,501.9 metres (8,208 ft) above sea level, Säntis is the highest mountain in the Alpstein massif of northeastern Switzerland. It is also the culminating point of the whole Appenzell Alps, between Lake Walen and Lake Constance. Shared by three cantons, the mountain is a highly visible landmark thanks to its exposed northerly position within the Alpstein massif. Six countries can be seen if the weather allows: Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, France, and Italy.

Grand Canyon National Park - Phantom Ranch Winter Trailrun

I love the Grand Canyon. Most trail runners wait for peak conditions in October for the quest of completing R2R2R. Since I've already accomplished this feat, I enjoy getting the canyon in the off months during the winter. So, I decided to make a video this time and share the experience of what it's like being in the Grand Canyon on a trail running journey in January. Get the popcorn, sit back, ...

Good work and great video
Beautiful area.
Southern Colorado usually has beautiful clear skies. I traveled this area many times about 50 years ago. However, I never climbed the Spanish Peaks. I did climb other mountains in the area looking for mule deer. Saw them but never got one.
Miss you man!
I love GC in the winter, cuts down on the people. Weather in the canyon is magical. NK has incredible waterfalls during rainstorms but you have to be a brave r2r2r, going when North is closed and weather is “bad”, to ever see them. You have to be confident in your gear too, I’ve been in rain, snow, wind, warm, sunny with temps from 14F to 70F.. all on the same day. Sad to see all the empty campsites, people don’t know what they are missing.
Thank you for sharing this. We did this hike back in 2003 as a scout unit from Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch. Great memories.
I've been thinking about heading back out to West Spanish. Such a lovely mountain!
You take the anxiety out of finding the trail. You are awesome. I enjoyed every minute of it, especially the G.O.A.T..... The other vids I've watched on this mountain are not equal to yours. You are patient, you find the correct path. You make it look, seem easy this way. I'm 75 yo, do you think I can do it too?
Greg, this year I've been running ultras around the world. I've met men and women running marathons and half marathons in their 70's. Extraordinary human beings. Reach out to me with specific questions for any journey you decide to take.
I can tell you one thing, you're video is the closest I'll ever get to summiting Little Bear!
I’m confused - what’s the difference between Snowmass Peak and Snowmass Mountain? Which one did you go to in this video?
Amazing opportunity!
Hi. I am going to go visit Spider Rock this summer. So awesome. I will be contacting Victoria and scheduling a hike for me and my wife.
Dr. Foor. I hope you’re still hiking. I suggest if you have it in you-mt Olympus in WA-42 miles round trip-or mt. reinier-a challenging 14er which I know you love. I keep coming back to your channel for inspiration. Thank you so much for all you do
I am hiking. In fact, I have a BIG announcement coming in a short few weeks. If you would like to know what I'm currently working on, please head over to Instagram @fooryoursuccess! I promise it's worth it.
Excellent documentation of the trail and lovely camera. Be safe out there and wear a helmet for the goats 🐐
Thanks Grant! See you on the trails!

Capitol and Little Bear are in a league of their own with the final approaches!
Well done old timer. Impressive indeed. See ya on the trails.
Hey thanks for your video it's amazing ! I'm hoping to be hiking the Traumpfad in June, I know I'll have yo bypass a few sections because of the snow, do you reckon this section might be unwalkable in mid June ? Thanks !
Thanks for the response! I'm unsure of weather conditions this year, but I'm hoping for you it won't be a problem, snow or not!
One of the most amazing places in the world
Haven’t heard from you in a while, hope all is well
Great video!
This climb is much nicer and easier with snow.
Way to go, Dr Foor. You inspired me to do the Loveland Double….now i need to complete this hike….finish the pass to pass…great job persevering! The north face of Torreys is a beast! Congrats!
Thank you! This was a BEAST of a hike. The day was incredible. Thanks for the comment and big changes are coming to my site along with future treks.
Thanks for the great video! I am planning to do this hike in July. Did you have the route loaded on a GPS device or a mapping app like Cal Topo or were you solely relying the the orange ribbons?
Glad you're asking Mark. It's a balance of being there, ribbons, and the app REI hiking project. All the GPS coordinates I had were slightly off. Seems like mine were a little too. There's exciting things coming around the corner on my website and I'll be offering Treks. This is one of them since I personally know the route. :-)
Wow the wind noise☹️
😥
Love it! Thank you!
Awesome!
What camera do you use? This footage is fantastic and so stable!
Double your pleasure , double your fun! Very nice combo there! For most, I think they would bag Wetterhorn and call it a day. Well done on showing us what a zen hiker can do!
Paradise !!! Fortunate to have been out there about 10 times ( cycling in the summer and skiing in the winter ) we stay in the Col di Lana ( hotel where this vid starts ) will be out there again in 6 weeks and can’t wait -- amazing footage and makes me even more impatient for summer too ❤
Why haven't u posted anymore?
Very impressive work and editing. At 84 can't do any and in Thailand anyway (not anyways) In my day all I knew was Arches, though I did do Druid. Nice you didn't do "speed-up".
Okay, I admit I'm a nit-picker. Kings is not the "tallest" mountain in Utah, just the highest. The "tallest" is probably Mt Nebo. This in the same sense that Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain in the world, and Denali and Kilimanjaro are both taller, though not higher, than Everest.
Are you done making videos? Haven't seen any new ones.
Thanks for reaching out and asking. I'm working on some incredible journeys right now and I promise I will have updates.
Where the heck are the awesome ruins, I mean what's the point going there and not seeing those amazing places...???
So glad I could share this awesome experience!
Watched for the marmot, and was not disappointed
Same....
Hi Buddy, great trip and great views, thanks for that. at 12:50 you told about assistance. Do you use a app or something? Would love to visit this place.
There's quite a few resources available. For this particular hike I used hiking project.
So amazing. I hadn't dropped in to see your channel in quite a while! For all I saw in Arizona, I never went to Canyon de Chelly. I think I need to!
It's a great spot. Worth the investment of getting into the canyon hiring a guide.
Great hike, congrats 🎉. Usually I don’t like clouds ☁️ on my hikes, but for this one it was a bonus! Great views and some cool hiking companions. BTW, goats are jerks…
This was a great day. The chance to precip was very high. Took a big risk and it paid off with incredible views!
you should've hit up the beehive too! I just did this a couple weeks ago and have a video up on it
what time of year did ya hike?
Early September!
An excellent presentation by Dr. Foor of his hike to the summit of one of California's highest peaks, Mt. Langley. I love his constant remarks about the dazzling beauty he finds everywhere around him on his journey. I know that feeling well after a lifetime backpacking in the Sierra and elsewhere.
Thank you Mike for your kind comments. It's truly a blessing to get good tidings from nature!
I still have those moments when I look out and behold scenes that take my breath away, which abound in the Sierra and beyond.
Isn’t there a medallion at the summit? Went up there June 1975, that exact route
Oh yes, there is a medallion. :-)
I still have my certificate! I remember crawling on all 4 up to the summit and looking down at mountain goats!
The land that actually belongs to the children of Israel right, that is rn occupied by Gentiles ?
Came across your channel through the algorithm, and I like your awesome hikes and videography! Thanks for sharing your trip up Maroon. All that loose rock and scree fields. Not to mention the route finding. A real mental drain managing great execution on the footwork and then problem solving the route. Well done, sir, and no need to apologize about the slow pace… 😊
Thanks for the comment! I certainly wasn't feeling great that day, and grateful I completed that hike. I'd got hikes coming from all over the world so stick around :-)
Nice video. Might I ask how old are you?
You mean today's age or when I did the video? :-)
@@FoorYourSuccess when ya did the video.
WOW!! Incredible, thank you for sharing! I looooove off-the-beaten places w/no ppl, this one is spectacular! Adding it to my list for 2024
This one is definitely off the beaten path and few people hike it!
@@FoorYourSuccess thank you! One question, it appears that coming out of the canyon (via the Water Canyon Trail) up the ledge, it appears like the ledge is small, easy to fall, would you say that is accurate? trying to gauge if hiking alone or not..TY :)
The mountains look amazing there❤..-shout out from Patrick , we talked on Barr trail I was heading to lake morraine..it was a very scenic trail loved it alot and the Lake was absolutely amazing 💪
Hey Patrick! Thanks for reaching out. Great to meet you along your journey. Some of the new trails in the Pikes are are stunningly beautiful!
That was awesome..😮❤❤
