    Beautiful America.
    For me it's not so much about getting to a specific point when hiking. The hiking IS the goal. Enjoying the nature, the scenery, the fresh air, just being there. :o)

      Great comment. Enjoy the journey. My success is because of a balance of humility and gratitude I can accomplish so much.

    An excellent presentation by Dr. Foor of his hike to the summit of one of California's highest peaks, Mt. Langley. I love his constant remarks about the dazzling beauty he finds everywhere around him on his journey. I know that feeling well after a lifetime backpacking in the Sierra and elsewhere.

      Thank you Mike for your kind comments. It's truly a blessing to get good tidings from nature!

      I still have those moments when I look out and behold scenes that take my breath away, which abound in the Sierra and beyond.

    Love the Sierras, fabulous view of Mount Whitney from the summit of Mount Langley. Your videos are a breath of fresh, Alpine air.

    I made that climb for a school trip recently, we camped near Cottonwood Lakes and then went up Old Army, definitely one of my most memorable times in a while

    I love your attitude, when you said will I hike all Cali 14ers and you said I don't know. It shows not everything is about completing lists but about having fun and enjoying freedom.

    • @FoorYourSuccess

      Thanks Tim. Completing the 14ers in Colorado was never the goal. Covid is an accelerator and changed my thoughts about the challenge. I'm humbled by the accomplishment and sharing the journey through love is more important.

    Wow that is some amazing scenery up there, love the wide open empty rocks above tree line as well as the alpine forest areas ... fantastic hike and blown away by your speed as always/ thanks for taking us with you and thanks for such a detailed look at the area, pct hikers pass thru but never show much.

    Always wanted to hike that one. I love how open the forest is at that elevation, so sparse! Then, above that it might as well be desert!

    • @FoorYourSuccess
      @FoorYourSuccess  Před 3 lety

      It's really the only "desert" 14er in the US. Others come close as 13ers, but this route and hike is special.

    Alright, finally hiking Langley! What an awesome area with all the foxtail pines. If you enjoy pain you should def check out the Eastern route up Langley starting at the Ashram by Tuttle Creek. Great to see you back in the Eastern Sierra. Looking forward to listening to that recent podcast 😎

    Running at 12,000 plus feet , very interesting. So I need to get me a can of that enthusiasm , I wonder if I can get it at Amazon? Thanks for a run through the glory of God.

    Nice! Beautiful day! I combined Langley with Cirque Peak, but I also had the advantage of going in Sept and doing old army pass (much shorter) but the day still ended up being about 24 miles and 12 hours cause of our side trip lol. I actually like this area more than Whitney, I'm going again to do Langley before going to Colorado.

    • @FoorYourSuccess
      @FoorYourSuccess  Před 2 lety +1

      @@FoorYourSuccess totally! I mean Whitney is cool I've done it twice and I'm doing the mountaineer route (hopefully) this year. But there's some very beautiful and special places outside of Whitney that just blow it away. Langley is one of those, but little lakes valley, onion valley, so many cool hikes there.

      @@FoorYourSuccess I would recommend West Face route. long approach to Shepherd Pass. TH is lower than Langley or Whitney. I also remember the good old days climbing Longs Peak in CO. Used to do it at least 5-6 times a year in grad school. Cheers
