Congrats on everything, I’m like 3 years late but going through the process now too so it’s all so relatable!!
Aww, I think a lot of the information is still valid even though the process is all online based now.
Hi Ruks, I just wanted to update you that exactly 2 weeks after I submitted my visa, my husband got a call this morning to collect my passport & his visa has been issued !!!
We could not have done it without all your informative videos and your advice!!!! May Allah bless you and your family.

@@RuksanaAhmed thank you so much once again! Just goes to show that videos can still be relevant/helpful even 2 years later during a pandemic! ❤️
@@usheikh14 Haha, they sound timeless lol. I think they will continue to help many over the years as not much changes tbh. They only real difference is the website and how the documents are submitted (of course the pandemic has changed if you can attend biometics, ietls test etc) but what documents you need to provide is still all the same and the kinds of answers you need to give.
Hi Ruksana, did you summit your husband applications after he got the TB test certificate? For wife application we have all documents ready except TB certificate. I wasn't sure what would happen if I submit the application few days before TB test?
Yes, my husband did the tb test before we submitted the application. All your documents need to be prior to application
Your videos are very helpful and informative. Thanks Ruks! More power😊
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you find them helpful! Good luck with your application :)

Hi Ruks, I watched your helpful videos just prior to me submitting my wife's visa application at the end of July, also you replied to a question I had asked - which was good of you!..My wife who is from Thailand has just received her settlement visa on 20/09/18......To cut a long story short, myself and our 2 children have not seen their mother in nearly 3 years!! - It's such a relief and a wonderful feeling knowing we will finally see her next week....kind Regards Ruks!
Hey Mark, I remember you messaging! How amazing is that?!!! I am sooooo happy for you, your kids and your wife 😁😁😁. A huge congratulations to you and your husband family! 🎉🎉🎉 your happy news has honestly made my day so that you so much for sharing it with me!
Ruks&Fam
Hi how are you I wanted to know I have applied for a spouse visa and it have been over 2 months and 2 days and i still have no message or anything thing form the home office no i have had any message .
I only had a message saying that they have received my online application form and that's it and nothing else and I don't know what to do.
Hi can you please reply
@@kashifkashif5890 . .Hi, I think you've sent your message to me instead of Ruks, Good luck!
Hi Kashif, it is very normal to only get that one email during the processing time. I would think you will be hearing from them very soon if you haven't done so already. Sorry for the late reply but I am only just seeing this message.
Congratulations! Your videos have been so helpful
Aww, thank you so much :D!! Thank you for watching as well, I am glad you are finding they are helpful. Good luck with your application!!
Thanks and it's really helpful and you did a good job!
Hi Qube, Aww thank you for watching. Good luck with your application if you are applying :)
I watched this video over and over. I swear you have been inspirational in acquiring all the docs. My Mrs is from the USA and I sent off all the docs last week I'm crossing my fingers I get her here inshallah. How did you cope with the wait. I have so much anxiety waiting.... It takes its toll
Hi Ahmed, thank you for watching my video! I am glad you have been inspired after watching! Aww, well done for submitting it all in. Yes, hopefully she will get it, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too! Haha, it's funny you ask that question, I actually answer it in my Q&A video lol. But basically, I took on lots of extra hours at work to keep me busy and keep my mind of it. I told myself I wasn't allowed to stress about it and each time I did I would think of something else cuz I knew I wouldn't hear anything for 3 month so why worry? It won't get us a decision any faster, instead it will just cause stress, I won't eat right, I'll fall ill, I'll miss work and I couldn't do that. I told myself if I missed work and the application gets rejected then I won't be able to reapply straight away because my sick pay will mean I won't earn enough to so I'd have to wait until another 6 months before I can apply again and I didn't want that. I also gave myself a back up plan that if it did get rejected, I would fly out to see him and then reapply when I came back. I found it really did help and then a week before I allowed myself to think about it a little bit and then it happened. Hope that helps, good luck with your application and keep me updated :)
@@RuksanaAhmed jzk for your response. I've just had a bad experience with my solicitor but inshallah it'll be ok. Hope everything is well with your marriage and may Allah bless you with happiness for many years to come inshallah 👍🏼

@@RuksanaAhmed question....how soon when ur husband arrived did u go to pick up his health surcharge card
Health Surcharge Card?? We never got one of those. Do you mean the BRP card? usually it says what date it will be available to collect on the letter that should have got been given when collecting the passport. My hubby came 3 weeks after a decision was made and we pretty much collected the BRP card 2 days later :)

Hi Ruks, I just wanted to say a massive thank you for making all these videos. They have been extremely helpful for our application and have made the process seem much more straightforward. My wife is moving over to the UK from the United States. We submitted our documents on 7th May and she received her passport with the visa in it on 19th July!!!
Just a heads up to those applying from the USA, changes were made to the application process on 1st March 2019 and supporting documents are now sent to the UKVI Scanning Hub in New York, not to Sheffield! They also have to be sent within 5 working days of the biometrics appointment so make sure to have all the supporting documents ready to send.
Thanks again Ruks, all these videos have really helped and simplified the visa process! Good luck to all those still waiting for a decision!
Oh Wow!! A huge congratulations to you both!! I am so happy to hear of your good news!! I wish I had paid attention to my messages earlier as I could have added your update the video I made yesterday. It's been uploaded now. Oh well, will quickly sneak it in to my next video!! @@rohanfletcher7953 hi rohan, im from the usa and my wife is a uk citizen, i just have a question, did you buy the priority service?
@@savethestrudel Hi, no we didn't bother with the priority service as it was almost £1000 more expensive and with the whole process being expensive we thought that we would rather just wait a few more weeks and save the money.

I just wanted to let you know that finally Alhamdulillah my sister's husband and my husband have finally received their Visa!! My sister's husband got his last month and arrived to London last month and Alhamdulillah my husband collected his Visa today! Wooop! I paid for priority for my husband so it took 26 working days and my sister applied for non-priority and her husband's visa took 75 working days. Thank you so so so so much, we both couldn't have done it without your help. Your videos saved us a whole load of money and provided us with so much help, not forgetting how many times you've also answered our questions via email. You're an absolute star! Thank you! I hope to have my husband here by the end of the week InshaAllah. Thanks once again xx

Hi
Did u applied priority visa for ur husband
I heard that priority visa comes within 5 working days as they said when we submitted the file
My friend also applied priority visa for her husband from India and when her husband applied they said 5 working days but still waiting it has been 10 working days now and no response so there is anything wrong or is it ok
Hi, I’m not sure why they have told you 5 working days. It’s the first I’ve heard of that tbh. As far as I’ve always been aware, I’ve always heard it to be one month but it’s more like 40 days or so. Of course some people can get it sooner and some people can go quite far over, even a full 3 months later which doesn’t make priority with it in that case. But no one can guarantee when a decision will be made unfortunately. Hope you hear back soon! Please keep me updated 🙏🏼
Hi Ruks,
Thank you uuuu so much for all the help via email and comments. My wife's visa application was successful. 100 days in total. I'd applied from Islamabad on the 29th of August 2018 and received a decision on the 15th of January. Received a non straightforward application email in November and escalated 3 times. Alhumdullilah so happy. You've been a great help for the most stressful journey. May Allah bless u sis! Hope you have a fantastic married life full of happiness and blessings. Ameen. Thank u 😊😊🤗🤗
AssadVlogs congratulations for your visa
Can u plz explain y your application was not straight forward ?
@@naheedaziz7031 Thanks. It was a straight forward application, literally same as Ruks in reference to the documents submitted etc, they most probably do it to buy extra time. I fulfilled all the requirements specified on the Government website etc. I was told by UKVI when I called that they sometimes send it to applicants to make sure they get some sort of feedback so that you aren't left in limbo is how he put it lol
Hi Assad!! That's absolutely amazing to hear :D:D:D. Congratulations to you both!! I am so happy to hear it has finally gone through. The advice you have been given is spot on really. It has happened to numerous people where if they haven't received their visa on day 90, they get an email saying "it's complicated" on some occasion the couple have heard back the next day lol. Just helps prevent people from calling them about when the decision will be made. Anyways, at least that's over and you can concentrate on the more important stuff like enjoying married life :D
Ruks can you give a detailed list of all supporting documentation needed to submit? And a breakdown of costs? Where does everything need to sent? Thank you so much!
Hi, I have made a video on the supporting documents that I provided and I mention everything in the same order that I provided it, I have also written it out in the description box of that video so definitely have a look “Part 9 - Supporting Document”.
I can’t provide a breakdown of the costs because it is so different for every application. There are so many variables that can change the amount someone pays and I don’t want anyone to get confused at why there’s might cost more than mine. For example, I know that since I applied the visa fees have gone up about £100 and the IHS payment has doubled. The address for American applications is:
U.K. Visas and Immigration International
Vulcan House
6 Millsands
Sheffield
S3 8NU.
Be aware, your application may be a little different from mine because you’re applying form the US so please be careful before you follow all of my advice :)
Understood...and thank you again! xx
Thank you so much for making this video, it is so useful I was a bit confused about all the dates when I or my husband should get some document done since some document need to be signed and dated within 28 days since I pay for my visa, this video did clear some of it out for me. Thank a lot. I have a few questions, if you can answer these for me that would be great:
1, I'm wondering that you got 20 days to hand your supporting document, is it within 20 days or you have to send it in 20 days?
2, Could you ask for more days to send your supporting document or this amount of time is fixed by them?
3,Also, you said all the supporting document you sent to Bangladesh not UK? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
4,Did they tell you where to send the supporting document in the biometric appointment?
I don't know how many times I have to say thank you to you, thank you so much for these series video
Hey! Oh good, I’m glad someone has noticed the timeframe I have mentioned hehe.
1) I had to submit them within 20 days but I think it’s 14 days now.
2) Tbh, I’m not too sure. If it’s a couple of days late, it may just mean getting a decision a couple of days later but if it’s more then it may be best to call and ask them if you can have more time.
3) No, I collected all the documents in the U.K. and my husband sent some of the documents he had to me also and then I put them altogether and sent them to Sheffield. U.K. to U.K. post. But you could send them from your own country if you wanted. Just remember the weight will be quite a lot so bare that in mind.
4) No they didn’t unfortunately but you can definitely ask them. I just assumed they send you an email about where to send it, which they did, but it only mentioned where to send it for American applications hence why I sent it to that address which was totally different to where it should have gone. Deffo ask at the appointment if you can!
Aww no worries, hope these help! 😊
@@RuksanaAhmed wow you responded so quick hehe, thank you so much for answer all of my question, I would have no idea where to go without your advice. Thank you

I am living in BD,my husband did online applictn yestrday..he said he will send documents to Sheffield by himself.. bt what about my documents? should i parcel to my husband? or I hv to take at my biometric appntnmnt which is on next 22 march..
Hi Wahida, congratulations on making you application and thank you for watching my video. If you watch my "Part 3:B Biometrics Appointment Video czcams.com/video/gxQNsfdlzKI/video.html, I mention exactly what you need to take to the biometrics appointment. You don't need to take any extra documents. You will need to send all of your documents to your husband (including the printed online application for which you have signed). He will then need to add them in with his documents and then post them to Sheffield altogether. Hope this makes things a bit more clearer for you. Good luck with your application :)
Thanks lovely ♥

Hey, Yes! Amazing news!! Hehe, thank you :)
Hi. Is it true that my partner will need to enter the UK within 4 weeks once the Visa arrives? What if she's unable to travel within 4 weeks?
Hi, yes! There will be an issue date on the visa sticker they put in her passport and she will need to arrive within 30 days of that date. If she can’t travel for any reason I think it’s best you call the UKVI number (you can find it in the description box) and ask them about what you can do. Hope you get it sorted! Good luck with your application :)
Congratulations!!! Sent my documents in around the same time you did, and still nothing back. I'm starting to get worried now. D: It's been 76 business days.
Hey, thank you!! Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll hear back soon. Give them the full 90 business days and if by then you haven’t heard anything maybe you can give them a call. I have left the contact details for UKVI in the description box. Hope you hear from them soon!! Good luck

Hi Tofael, I’m not sure temporary work is acceptable. They want to know that you are in a “permanent position” ie. you won’t lose your job and struggle to support your wife.
hi Tofael,
I would recommend you use a professional for you visa application. i tried to do the application myself at first and failed miserably.
email an@tylerhoffman.co.uk they can help you with your visa and they do free consultation so wont charge you unless you qualify for the visa so they do a free assessment.
Best of luck

Hi. I don't believe the type of contract is focused on particularly. My husbands visa was recently approved and at the point of application my employment contract was Fixed Term. Although I had worked there for over a year and a half at the time and maybe the assumption was that the proposed end date would be extended.

Getting visa delivery today fingers crossed been a long wait but worth it. And yes it’s a stressful situation with the documents but it’s worth it. I waited 3 months and 3 weeks but let’s say 3 months a one week cause carriers made a mistake and package had to be shipped back. So make sure you track your package some delivery carriers are careless to leave and first, second third attempt so you will never know unless you track documents. Be diligent with the visa and treat it with argent care.

Hello. Did you get your vise?
@@rajdeepkaur9620 Yes, they got their visa :):):), it was mentioned in a separate comment.
Hi thank you so much for your video and really helpful! May I know, after submitting the supporting document (by my husband in UK), and received/signed by the UKVI,will I get their confirmation email to state that they received it? Or I just have to wait until they contact me again once the decision is made? Thank you very much! :)
Hello CONGRATULATIONS !!!! That's great news and it didn't take so long. Your videos are great very clear. I just want to ask you if you sent any pics, videos or social media chats to prove your relationship?
Hiya! Thank you so much and thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment. I'm glad you like my video. Yes, I did send all of that and I will be talking about those in my next video. Hoping to upload it on Wednesday so keep an eye out for that :)

I sent you the information as a private message on CZcams. Hope you found it ok
Ruks&Fam sorry but how do i see that, i cant see it

Thank you 😊
I'm so glad for your success :D Congratulations. Although I'm wondering how did it happen that you got the wrong address? Who gave you the address that was wrong? Is there any way you could recommend us to prevent that kind of thing before sending everything?
Thank you so much!! As I was doing it all on my own, I used google a lot and relied on forums for information. 50% were saying to Vulcan House and the other 50% were saying PO Box 5852 so I was stuck between the two. However, I was leaning more towards the PO Box address as I read someone else having issues with Vulcan House. After my husbands Biometrics Appointment he got an email from UKVI about sending his documents. It had a NY address on it and the Vulcan House so I just send it there. Looking back at the email it says "If you're applying from America" so I misunderstood that. I kept googling about the postal address as I was getting increasingly worried and it was becoming more worrying that I sent it to the wrong address (the VFS website should have the correct for your country). It turns out Vulcan House was an old address that they used for only 3 months before changing it to the PO Box address though I think some countries still use that address.
I will thank u
Hi ruks i just wanted to ask if when do i need to get my tb test and english test? We ddnt book an online application yet. Please asnwer thanks.
Hi Ruks 😊 I've got my fiancè visa & will be reunited with my fiancè & get married in England 🤗 Thank you so much for your help through these videos 🤗 I wish you & your family all the best 😊 Have a nice day xxx

Novel Anugerah can u plz tell what kind of relationship documents u had provided for your fiancee visa ? Will looking forward to your kind response.
Hi Naheed, I'm pretty sure the documents required for a fiancé visa is similar to the documents required for the spouse visa (maybe engagement photos rather than wedding photos) but hopefully Novel or anyone else who has made a fiancé visa application can confirm that for you :)
@@naheedaziz7031 Hi, Naheed 😊 My fiancè & I sent our photos when he proposed me, photos of our engagement party, the receipt of engagement ring, support letter from our parents to state that our relationship is genuine & subsisting, our photos when we went for a date & visited our families, screenshots of our messenger chats, screenshots of our video call logs, flight tickets when my fiancè visited me & my families, birthday card that I sent to him via post, & cover letter of intent to marry from both of us 😊 It's good to put the date, place, & name of occasion for the photos 😊 The main purpose of the relationship documents is to convince the Home Office that our relationship is genuine & subsisting 😊 I hope the best for you & your couple, Naheed 😊

Hey sweetie any Idea what would be the possible outcome that I put the wrong address of my sponsor while booking online application and I have already done bio matrices ... however I have sent one covering letter to them via email and they haven’t contacted me back about this issues which normally they don’t do but me in kind of panic ... do they consider or not ?
Hey, thank you for watching! Hmm I rak it you have sent your documents off already? If so, maybe it’s worth contacting them on the phone and telling them you made a mistake. Maybe the advisor will email you to submit your corrections. They may only get back to you with a generic email anyway if they do.
If you haven’t sent them off yet, just put a line through the address and hand write the correct address and sign and date it. Then do a covering letter for it. Hope his helps and that you get it sorted! Good luck with your application :)
Hi Ruks ! How are u? Do u remember me? I have applied for my uk spouse visa on last august with the help of watching your videos. And also with the help of your valuable answers to my doubtful questions. Again, I am coming to u asking a doubt. Actually today my husband got received all the supporting documents back from uk home office. They sent back everything including the copy of application form, appendix form and also our copy of passport photos. They just keep my correction letter in which i have clearly mentioned the mistake which was made by me in the application form (The mistake was travel history. There is a question in the form that have u ever travelled outside your country excluding UK in last 10 years? I mistakenly mentioned No. But i have travelled Thailand in the last year. So i corrected in the print out application form and also gave them a correction letter duely signed with my supporting documents). So my confusion was, did they sent back the application form, appendix form and passport photos? I am scared and confused. Plz sisso reply asap.
Hi Ruks - We have applied for priority dependent visa and my husband in in tier 1 ILR - we received the mail on September 20 that our online application has been received and on 27 UK VI have received the documents . it’s been a month we have not received documents as well visa . What can we do .. also I have one more doubt - in the supporting document parcel my husband din not mention as priority ( will this a reason for delay )
Hi! Thanks for your video!
Can I ask you a question regarding this. Do you think it’s worth contacting ukvi if it’s been only a month after bio appointment. Non priority.
Thanks in advance!
Hi, a standard visa usually takes 3 months to process. Some happen sooner of you are lucky, some happen later. At the moment most are unfortunately being processed later due to the pandemic. I think you can contact them if you haven't heard anything by 6 months because even prior to the pandemic, it could have taken 6 months anyway if you were really unlucky. They will just tell you the same as I have but it's up to you
Did you got your visa ??
@@tamannaahmed3922 Hi! Yes, we got the visa. It took a while tho.
But I believe now priority service is available. It wasn't available when I was applying
Hi Ruks,
Did you do your spouse visa application through a solicitor or did you do it yourself? I'm just wondering whether or not to do it myself or through a solicitor?
Also you said that you applied from the UK even though your husband was in Bangladesh. I thought that the spouse who is coming over to the UK needs to submit the documents from the country they are in. So for example, my husband lives in Italy, so would he not have to submit the documents there? Or can I submit it from here in the UK?
I watched your videos last year and watching them again, they are very informative!
Hi, thank you for watching my videos again hehe, glad you’re finding them to be informative.
Personally, I chose to do the application without a solicitor as I felt confident that I understood the process enough to do so. I did a lot of research before we had to apply. It really is up to you and your partner and your situation really.
I’m surprised your husband needs a spouse visa like this one as he is a EU citizen, this is more for non-EU/EEA country.
So things have changed a little since my application. There has always been two options to submit the supporting documents.
Option 1: the applicant takes the documents to the biometrics appointment in their country and submits the documents there, where they are scanned and returned on the same day (not available in all countries and there is usually a fee for it) Option 2: the sponsor sends the documents to Sheffield to be scanned and returned to them by post (which is the option we chose)
Option 1 is still the same but option 2 has now changed. You may need to double check this info as I have just been told and not looked into it but instead of sending to Sheffield, the sponsor should take the documents to their local visa application centre as Sheffield is no longer accepting them through the post.
Hope that makes sense!
ما شاء لله .good news
Really good. Good luck with your application 😄
Can you please tell if you are allowed to leave UK after you enter with that 30 days period ? for vacation/important works? or is there a limit of days you have to spend before you can travel ?
Hi, there are no specific rules on how long you must be in the UK before you can travel
Hi, with regards to uk spouse visa , just wondering if you did or didnt send the pictures/chat log (applicant/sponsor) along with the application? really confused..please help
Hi, we sent both pictures and chat logs. I have videos where I mention everything that I sent :)
Hi Ruks. Thank you for uploading all the videos. They really helpful. First of all congratulations. 😀. I’m in the process of applying for my spouse visa. Just got one question to ask. Did you send your passport with the application. I know my spouse has to submit his passport at the bio interview. But not sure if i had to send mine to Sheffield all the other documents. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you 😀
Hi Safina! thank you for watching my videos, I am glad you have found them helpful. Nope, you don’t need to submit your passport m, just a photocopy of it is more than enough :). Make sure you take copies of the page with the pic, any stamped pages (proving you have been to Bangladesh) and any visa pages/no visa required stamp. Hope that helps! Good luck with your application :)
Ruks&Fam thank you. 😘
could you please tell that when does the working days starts ?? the date we done bio metrics or when we submit the documents to sheffield our when they send a mail that mine application has been recieved at uk desition making center ????
Hi Najwa, thank you for watching my video. They days include weekends and holidays as well and it is usually counted from the day of visa payment. Some applications require payment when the application is submitted and others require payment at the biometrics appointment, so it will just depend on when you pay. Hope that helps answer your question! Good luck with your application :)
Hi Ruksana, Before you got your spouse visa and the home office received your application after doing the biometrics did they send you an email asking for your supporting documents be sent in 5 days or they will decide on what they have and your application is at the decision making centre? If you received such email how long did it take you to get the visa after the email?
Hi, for the extension visa, we submitted our documents online before we went to the biometric appointment so we did not receive that email.
For the first application, we had to post the documents in within 10 days but that has all changed now, now you upload it all online. Decisions usually take 3 months on a standard visa. Can be more, can be less. Every application is different
@@RuksanaAhmed thanks a lot I was referring to first time application. Thank you again
Haha I wrote about both cuz I wasn’t sure which one. I the process for the first application now is similar to the extension
Hi Ruks thanks for the information but i have question i won appeal on 30 oct 2019 and after that i didnt received any email from home office so how long dose it take to get ihs link and email that it say submiting my pasport bcz i already passed 5weeks thanks
Hi Soman! Thank you for watching my video, I am glad you like them. Oh wow, congratulations on winning your appeal, I am really happy for you :D:D:D. I wish I could give you the information you are after but unfortunately I don't know anything about how appeals work. I am so sorry! Can you speak to a solicitor about this? Hope you get it sorted cuz you've waited long enough I'm sure.
It probs did take 60 days as they say working days so thats roughly 20 days a month. Your one seems like they where bang on time. And then 10 days to process the visa after decision is made.
Maybe your right, never really thought of it like that
So you sent supporting documents to the UKVI in the UK. Right? Did your husband have any supporting documents to send or did you just send everything and he only did the biometrics?
Hi! Yes, at the time we had to send the documents to UKVI but things have changed since then and now the documents must be scanned. You can do this from home, the applicant can take them to be scanned at the biometrics appointment for a fee or the sponsor can take them to be scanned at their nearest visa application centre, again for a fee. UKVI are no longer accepting documents though the post, I did make an "update" video on this czcams.com/video/OaeTwizWd8k/video.html.
Most of the documents we provided were mine (financial documents, accommodation documents, screenshots were all from my phone, etc). I did need some documents from him which I got when we married. Such as photocopies of his passport, birth certificate, his passport size pictures, our marriage certificate, receipts for our wedding venues and pics of the wedding from the photographers over there, he also had to send me documents such as his IELTS certificate, TB test certificate, printed and singed online application form etc. But now with this new scanning system, you could scan the documents to your spouse or they can scan them to you and you can upload them directly.
Hi. May I know what are the supporting documents you was sent for the UK spouse Visa right?
My husband lived and work in london. And he's planning to get me but we don't have much idea which are the supporting documents we need. I just wondering how much we need for the bank account to showed up to them? He meet the income thresholds so I was thinking if we need to show the details how much we earn in the bank.
I would be very happy with your help.
Hey! Thank you for watching my video. I have made a video called “Part 6: Financial Documents” which will tell you specifically what we provided as proof of finances and then my video “Part 9: Supporting Documents” will tell you exactly what we sent (all of the supporting documents, in order). Hope you find them helpful. Good luck with your application :)
Hi , thank you very much for videos.
Did your husband have TB test ?
If the answer is yes when did he have them before or after submitting the application?
Hiya, thank you for watching them! Yes he did have to take a TB test, it is mandatory. They are only valid for 6 months so I would say it should be taken a month or two before the application is submitted because if for any reason you may need to reapply, you can still use the same certificate :)
Ruks&Fam Hi , Thanks for answering my questions.
What documents do you need to take with when you do TB test ? Do they ask for an application form? Any other document.?
Hi, I'm not sure really as it was my husband that went and he's not here for me to ask. You won't need the application form but you may want to take your passport with you, maybe a medical card (if you have one).
Congartulation Ruks&Fam, and all the best for you and your husband. Currently I am on ESA benifit, and my financial resources are very limited. My wife lives in Lebanon, and we have a son (he is 9yrs and British citizen like me) do you know what form(s) I need to fill (all are confusing) and what documents and need to provide and are there any fee waiver in my case? Thanks in advance .
Hi, Thank you so much!! Thank you for watching my video as well. So your case is a little different from mine and therefore I am having trouble to answer it unfortunately. I know there are certain medical reasons for why a person may be exempt from the financial requirements but you should speak to a solicitor to see if you fall into that category. With your son being British, it may mean that (if you do have to show you finances) that you still only need to prove you have an income of £18,600+. Other methods to prove your finances can be from your savings, pensions, etc. But again, I would highly suggest you speak with a solicitor regarding these. Sorry I can't help you much but I wish you all the best with your application.
Hi ruks,
I watched all your videos and it was very helpful for me and my husband.
i live in Uk and my husband is in india.
he submitted his passport and biometrics on the 5th of april 2019. I sent all the supporting documents to sheffield by post on the 20th of April.
today is 10th week altogether. still no answer from fhe UKVI.
also did your husband get any biometric letter by post before he collected his passport? if yes do let me know.
Thank you sis.
Hi thank you for watching my videos, I am glad you have found them helpful! The UKVI can take a long time to respond, especially now as there are quite a few changes happening with the application process. They don't always reply to everyone and can sometimes take a month or even two to reply so patience is definitely key. Hope you hear from them soon! Good luck with your application :)
Hi sister,
My husband got visa today it only took 11 weeks to get visa.
My question to you is what do he or I have to take with him to collect biometric card from post office? My husband only got 1 months visa within 1 month he have to come back to uk can he come 25th day of visa date please let me know?
Thank you
Thank you for sharing this information Ruks! Really helpful :). When in the timeline does the applicant need to hand in their passport? My fiance needs her passport for her role; so we are just figuring out exactly when she can work until. Thank you
Hi, thank you for watching my video, I am glad you find it helpful! All applications are different depending on the country you are applying from but on the most part, the applicant’s passport is handed in at the biometrics appointment (after online application is submitted). Hope this helps, good luck with your application :)
@@RuksanaAhmed Thank you so much for the help. I have a few related questions which I would be most useful if you could help me with;
After submitting the application; how long do we have for booking the in-person appointment?
Are we given an option/ time frame where we can select a date as per my fiances' availability/ or will they give us a specific time/date?
Thank you once again!
Hi, you can select a date for the biometrics appointment at the end of the online application form depending on the applicant's availability :)
@@RuksanaAhmed Oh phew thats a huge help..... can you roughly remember how far in advanced this can be booked? Additionally what level of IELTS would my wife need (there are so many levels haha)? thank you so much for the priceless info!
Erm...I think we were given the option to book from the next day and the rest of the month really. Didn’t pay too much attention as we wanted it after like 3 days which was available so I didn’t see how far ahead appointments were available for.
The main ielts that should be taken is A1, it is like entry level. She can take B1 which is an intermediate level and I think if she takes that now, it will save her from needing to so it when you extend the visa so it’s worth thinking about
Hi hun, just a quick question, i know this might be the wrong video to comment on but can i just confirm if you made the
IHS payment online in GBP (pound) and Visa was paid by your husband at the biometric appointment in BDT (taka) xx
Thanks in advance
Hi, Yes. I paid the IHS fees online in dollars actually but I used my normal bank card and was charged for using foreign currency (it was only a pound something).
We paid the visa fees at the biometrics appointment as it wasn't an option for us to pay online (not for Bangladeshi applicants, not at the time anyway, not sure if that's different now). It should say at the end of the application form whether you can pay online or must pay at the centre.
Ruks&Fam thank you so much, I understand now, Im just trying to get my head through all these names haha and what they are for! Xx
Hi Ruks...I hope u can help me with this...I have applied for spouse visa and received a acknowledgement mail from home office saying- "Thank you for your online application which has been received at the UK Decision Making Centre. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer." My question is- Is it just a acknowledgement mail or they considered my application and approved???
Hi Ruks, can I have a template of your supporting letter. Thanks
After receiving your do documents back how many days/weeks did you have to wait for an answer? And in the decision making time did the immigration officers ring you or your husband by any chance?
Hi Haleema, thank you for watching my video! Receiving the documents back is no indication of when a decision will be made. You will notice in the video that though my husband received his visa, we still hadn't received the documents back. Everyone receives the documents back at different some after a week or so, come after a month or so and some after the decision. If you want to know roughly when you may here a decision, you should count 90 days from the date you paid the visa fees. Hope that helps, good luck with your application :)
great videos; all your videos are super helpful! A few questions;
Can the supporting documents be submitted before the biometrics appointment or does it have to be after?
Should all the documents be made out upto the online application submission or biometric e.g. the 6 months of bank statements should be the 6 months before the online application or 6 months before the biometric? thank you
Hi, thank you so much, I am glad you like them. The supporting documents should either be submitted on the day of the application or after and the documents should all be dated before date you submit the online application form. The documents you collect between the application and the biometrics may not count. Hope that makes sense. Good luck with your application :)
@@RuksanaAhmed Thank you so much for your reply. So bank statements etc. should be provided up until the date the application is submitted?
Yes, 6 months prior to application date 😊
Omg! I’m reading my previous reply, I meant the supporting document should either be on the day of the biometrics appointment or after at the sponsors local visa application after the appointment
@@RuksanaAhmed Thank you so much again! ok great; so lets say I submit the online application on 1st July and book the biometric for my wife on 25th july; the bank statements and documents should be made upto the 25th july? Additionally my work means I am overseas a lot; however do not want to miss any calls from the UKVI; can I supply a landline so my parents can pick up (being overseas means my mobile is hit and miss)? From your knowledge is there a need for the sponsor to be in the UK(apart from to receive any potential calls from UKVI? Really appreciate your help with this
Congrats dear very informative videos Is it imp to send original doc what if we lost them ?
Shumaila khan yes u will have to the original documents plus photocopies as well . HO will return your documents into your preferred address via your prepaid envelope.
Hi Shumaila, thank you for watching my video. Yes, they require you to send originals of your supporting documents. You can send them with a postage stamp that is trackable so you can see when it is delivered and if it doesn't get delivered you will know where it is but the post office service in the UK is pretty good and lost parcels are very rare. Send them a separate pile of photocopies of all the documents as well so they can keep the copies if they want to.
Make sure the prepaid return envelope you provide can also be tracked as well. Hope that helps answer your question. Good luck with your application :)
Thank you so much for being helpful :)
When you got the visa did they make you fly into a specific port?
Hi thank you for watching my video. No, it’s up to you/your partner to book the tickets so you can pick whatever airport is most suitable for you. Hope that helps answer your question. Congratulations to you if you have received your visa 🎉🎉🎉
May i know why you need to send your application to sheffield please? If you have applied the application from Bangladesh. Im in the process of doing it from Mauritius i just need to know if i have to send any documents to them in Sheffield? If so please can you let me know what documents i have to send. Many thanks
Hi Aurelie, thank you for watching my videos. Well, the home office (the people who decide to accept/reject your visa) are based in Sheffield, England. We did have the option and you may have the same option too to submit your documents at the biometrics appointment for an extra fee. We decided it was best for us to submit directly to Sheffield as most of the documents collected are provided by the spouse (living in England) so sending all of that over to Bangladesh for my husband to take to his appointment to pay a fee for submitting them just seemed like a waste of effort and money really. The weight was so much that even sending it UK to UK was pretty costly. Hope that helps you understand a little. If you want to know what documents we sent, I have made a video on that, it’s called “Part 9 - Supporting Documents” and it’s all listed in the description box of that video as well. Good luck with your application :)

Hi, Thank you!! And thank you for watching my video :). Unfortunately, I'm not too sure about how it all works with children and you may need to see a solicitor/citizens advice bureau on that but my husband only handed his own passport in at his Biometrics appointment and it is there that he left it until a decision was made. I only had a message saying that they have received my online application form and that's it and nothing else and I don't know what to do.
Hi Kashif, that’s very very normal so don’t worry. I don’t suspect you will hear anything from them now until they have made a decision. The applicant will be sent a text message to collect the passport. You still have a while to wait, it’s typically 3 months before you get the visa. Hope that helps, good luck with your application :)

Hi Khadija, thank you for watching my video. Not sure if you have seen my “Part 1: Online Application” video (link is in the description box. But I mention in that that anyone can fill in the application form really. You just need to create the account online using your partners details and fill it in.
