      Hiya! They didn't really ask for any of his bank details or anything but I did provide them as "additional documents" just so that I could further evidence things such as proof of name and address for a stronger case but it is not necessary by any means. They are only interested in how much the sponsor earns and want to see that wage deposited into the account each month (or to see savings in sponsors accounts of you will be using savings towards the financial requirements).

      Hi, thank you! Spouse visas usually take around 3 months, some people are lucky and get a decision sooner, some people can find they have to wait longer, some even up to 6 months. Of course due to the coronavirus there is a huge delay and most applications are being decided way after the 3 month norm.

    Hello Ruks, thank you for all you are doing in terms of helping us with advice for spouse visa. You are blessed! I want to ask, I’m about to submit application for my husband. My last pay slip is at the end of this month. I want to submit application in a few days so we can get appointment date around the time my last payslip comes out as we don’t want to waste anytime. How do the appointments work? Do you get to choose when you want an appointment or they will give you the next available? Thank you

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi! Thank you for watching! At the end of the application they will give you a list of appointment dates and times to choose from, so you can choose whichever one is best for you, as far as I am aware, there is no time limit to when you need to book them but the sooner you get it done, the sooner your application will be looked at and you can get your visa closer to the 3 months, especially with all the delays at the moment due to covid.
      Also, just want to mention, be careful with submitting your application too early as well. I know you said you want to apply after you get your last wage slip but make sure you can get hold of an official bank statement around the same time showing that wage slip as they want your documents to be date "prior" to application. So ones collected after may not count.

    Actually I have a question if possible, I am married to a British citizen for 20 years now with four kids , my children want to study in the uk therefore we are planning to move there, but I am not sure about the visa type that i should apply, should I apply from outside uk or go there with a visit visa and apply from inside uk

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 3 lety

      Hi, thank you for watching! Ah wow, this is quite a different situation. I am not a solicitor so not too sure how to advise you on this one but if you wife is British I think your children will automatically also be British (even if they were born outside of the UK) so for them it is a simple case of applying for a Britisih passport. However, for yourself, I think you will need to apply either for a spouse visa (which is the route I would recommend personally, apply to study whilst you are here on your spouse visa - your tuition fees may be less and you are also also be on the route to becoming British at the same time. If you are studying for a BA then you will complete that around the same time your extension application is due. If you are studying a BSC then you will complete that just before you get your indefinite leave). Maybe a student visa? But when you are ready to become permanent, you will probably have to return to your country and apply as a spouse anyway which will take you back to the beginning almost. I wouldn't go for a visit visa because it is only 6 months and you will have to return to your country after that and I don't know how long you would have to wait before you can apply for another one. There just doesn't seem to be any benefit to it if your family can be here for much longer than you can.
      Please speak to a solicitor about all of your option because I am not 100% sure on any of it. This is just my thoughts from things I have heard about all 3 options and about your children being automatically British because a parent is. Hope you get some help, best of luck!

    It might be a stupid question. Which date is the actual expiration date for the visa. As I can not find any documents except the BRP card I beleive the visa is actually expiring on the date which is on the card.

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 3 lety

      Hi, the visa expires the day that is on the BRP card. The first visa is actually 2.8 years (33 months). The second visa should be for 2.5 years (30 months). I'm not sure if it was all 2.5 years in the past but that language is still used even today when talking about these visas.

    Regarding your income/finances. If you do not work for an employer nor Self employed, but have and can show you have personal saving of £62500 then it may be possible to meet the financial requirements of the British Citizen.

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey, yes that is true. You do not have to be in employment or working to meet the financial requirements as long as you have £62,500 saved in your account for 6 months. However, not many people have that kind of money in their accounts and will struggle to borrow that amount of money also so most find it easier to meet the financial requirements through work.
      Thank you for the advice though as it is something that I have mentioned in my past videos, it is not something I speak about much as it's not something we did for hubby's application.

I would do the same from the bank if possible, if those are also online copies 😊

      Hi Rosalie, I have made a video regarding the new changes due to covid 19 czcams.com/video/s4X0-K8HFe4/video.html, in that I have explained that if you are on Furlough and receiving 80% of your income then there is no need to worry as UKVI will calculate that with the additional 20% on top to get 100%. I and many others are int he same position so you don't need to worry about it. I am not too sure about the address on the marriage certificate. My marriage certificate also does not have my UK address on it. However, I put my grandparent's address on it as they are from the same country as my husband. I guess because he does not have relatives in Hong Kong then your address there is also his address there. You can always ask a solicitor to make sure

Don’t worry too much as this shouldn’t affect your visa, I’m sure many people are in your situation and the home office will have to accept this as exceptional circumstances.
      I would explain the situation on your application form under “additional information”. Also write a separate letter explaining the situation. If you can provide news paper articles that say the date of airport closures and flight tickets of a couple of family members who we’re supposed to attend so they can see it was the day after closures. Just anything that will help prove what you are saying. Hope that’s helpful 😊

      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi, I am really confused, how is it that your BRP card has an expiry date on it when you have ILR. Maybe it is because you need to renew it, like you would renew a driving license or passport? 🤷‍♀️. The IHS fees at the moment are £1200 so that also seems strange. Sometimes it is in dollars so maybe it looks more than what it is but you have also put the dollar amount so that can't be the case here. Besides, I didn't think you paid for the IHS fees for ILR unless you mean it's your husband's IHS fees as it's his first visa. Yes, the visa fees are £1523 at the moment, I'm not sure if it the visa fees that is increasing (probably will) but I know that the IHS fees are increasing in October to £1800 😱

      Hi, personally as a Brit, I don't think that having children together is good enough evidence on its own that your relationship is genuine. It will definitely strengthen your application if it is used alongside other evidence. The only reason I say this is because really people can have children with anyone (one night stands, meaningless relationships. Even over and over)...Please don't take this the wrong way, I am not saying this is your situation or anything but there will need to be more evidence than just the kids. Like I said though, the kids are definitely able to strengthen the application 😊

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi. It is really hard to find any job at the moment due to this pandemic, many people losing their jobs. If you don't earn enough at your current workplace you can always ask to do regular overtime (if you are paid hourly). If not, you could always take on a second job temporarily until you partner gets the visa. Or use a combination of your income and savings (but you will need quite a bit of savings), a house in your name and a pension also can count towards your financial requirements.
      Hmm, sounds like you aren't working at all at the moment. If you have enough savings in your account for 6 months, you won't need to a job at all but you'll need £65,000 sitting in there (some of it can be a "gift" from your parents) as long as it's in their for the duration of 6 months and the application process you should get the visa.
      If you decide to work for a family member, just know that you will need to provide a lot more documents when you make the application, as if you were the owner, so sometimes it is not worth the hastle. Supermarkets and the NHS have been looking for staff since lockdown so if you can get a permanent job at 2 different companies then you should be ok. I hope I have given you a few ideas.

The cash savings you need for the first application and the extentions (flr) is the same, £62,500 for a sponsor that doesn't work (in the first application) or if neither of you work (for flr).
      For the ILR application, you will need a minimum saving of £34,600 to apply with no work from either of you because £34,600 + £16,000 = £18,600 which meets the threshold because for some reason in the ILR application, the savings aren't divided by 2.5 like the are in the previous 2 applications.
