Logs would you say it’s better to print them in colour or black and white?
I have been taking screenshots of our calls since Aug, but I didn’t think to take a screen shot of the duration of our calls. Do you think that will be an issue. I was also wondering for your WhatsApp conversations how many screenshots did you do for each day? I have WhatsApp conversations that go back 2 years.

After taking the screenshots, I connected my phone to the computer and dragged and dropped the images onto a word document, adjusted the size and placed them how I wanted.
Sorry, I don't have a video of it yet unfortunately, but it is one that will be coming in the near future.

Hi Ruks! This video has been such a great help. My boyfriend/future husband and I area organising all documents for his visa application to move to UK. I have a question for you if you don't mind answering...with the whatsapp chat history screenshots, ours do not show name for both of us...for example, if i am using my phone to screenshot then it only comes up with my partner's name top left...but doesnt say anywhere my name. Is that the same for you? Have you already heard back from your visa application? Was it successful?

We provided screenshots from my phone only and like you say, it only shows my husband’s name. I don’t think it need to show both names, mine didn’t and neither do I know how you would get that. Hope this helps ease your mind. Good luck with your application 😊

Hi, thank you for watching my video! Aww thanks, Happy New Year to you also!! I don’t think there is an x amount of time you have to be married for by. Many people who have arranged marriages apply straight away and get their applications approved so it shouldn’t be an issue so long as you can prove the marriage is genuine, your financial requirements are right and you have somewhere to stay. We applied 2 months after marrying. Hope that helps answer your question, good luck with your application :)
Awesome helpful video; just doing our application now! Quick Q; how did you access whats ap calls from so far in the past? I am only able to access 2 months in the past; both on whats ap and the iphone call history? Did you access them via your i phone/ a desktop ap or did you take them throughout the year? Thank you
Hi, Thank you! Omg, those chats!! They were a nightmare haha. Wish I had taken them throughout the years. I haven't been taking them this time round either which I know I will regret cuz I have quite far back to go again. My iPhone luckily allowed me to scroll back quite far and then after so long it would keep crashing. Then I found if I exported the chat to my email, it would allow me to go further back in the iPhone. Not always, it would still crash at times but if I searched a specific word that we used back when we first started talking, it would take me back to that chat and I can start from there. Hope this is making some sense lol.

Hi, Thank you for watching my videos, I am glad you have found the helpful. You can send them original print outs of your photographs but I just printed mine on standard A4 paper with my home printer. Nothing fancy really, that's all you need really. hi you have mentioned about letters and cards that your husband and friends given to u, so u attached the original cards and letters in relationship documents?
secondly, my relationship document bundle is huge in size since i have to give proof of 2 years so can i only send the original screenshots to them? or if i send the whole huge bundle so it will be fine or not?
Hi Hussain, thanks for watching! I am really sorry for the late reply. Yes, I just added the original cards and letter in the section where all my documents proved our relationship.
Yes I would suggest you provide original screenshots but I think your should just send a few from every other month or so, it doesn’t need to be from every month over the last couple of year. Just as long as it shows you speak regularly and have done over the last couple of years. Hope this makes sense and helps you. Good luck with your application :)

Hi Ruksana, Thanks again for another informative video. I have a question - regarding screenshots of whatsapp convos, how many convos per month did you include and number of screenshots? Did you include snippets of the convos or included the full length of the convos? Again, I'd be grateful for your reply. Thanks so much :)
Hi, as mentioned in my video I provided screenshots from Jan - Nov (a month per page) which is 11 months and I also mentioned that I put 10 screenshots per page. So that would mean I provided 111 screenshots in total. It is entirely up to you how you want to show them, I chose to do conversations that can be followed cuz I thought it showed there was depth to our conversations and others choose to do snippets which I also think is a good idea cuz you can choose 10 screenshots from 10 different days of the month which can show how regularly you talk.

Hi, yes that should be acceptable. It’s up to you, if you want your pictures back then you should photocopy them but if you don’t mind them keeping the pictures then you don’t need to photocopy them :)

When I filmed the spouse visa videos in 2018, we did have to send them but now it's all online. I did still print everything and my husband took them with him to his biometric appointment.

Hi, you can provide information from before if you have it. My husband and I knew each other from before the wedding so we provided evidence of that also. The more evidence you provide will help make your application a little stronger.

Hi Mokhlis, thank you for watching! I was in contact with my husband for 1 year and 4 months before we married and then I made my application 2 months later. I’m not sure about this 2 year rule, I haven’t come across it before. They do know that many people have arranged marriages and therefore won’t have 2 years before their application so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Just make sure that you have enough evidence to prove that you have a strong relationship in the time that you met up until the application. Hope this helps, good luck with your application :)
Hi i wanted to ask regarding whstsapp screenshots can i choose any date of the month like 28 may and put screen shots of that date mix different dates in that month and is 10 pictures eatch month enough. Someone said to me you have to hsve screenshots of everyday of each month all conversation which is impossible lol. So whatim saying is can i just choose one date each month and take screen shots of that day conversation thanks.
Hi yeah, you can do it that way if you want. Choosing lots of different days over time allows them to see that you’re in regular contact over a long period

Hi, the English and Medical Certificates should be included with the supporting documents, whether you are submitting the documents in India or in the UK. If you are submitting them in the UK then there is no reason for them to be taken to the biometrics appointment.

See all of your Whatsapp Screenshots - were they on A4 paper or A3? THe chat boxes look small on A4 :/. Not sure if that's an issue!

Sorry addition to that, you've mentioned the chat log. Did you print out the whole chat log or just screenshots as you've presented in this video. I've been told that I need to print the whole thing which will be substantial in my opinion. Thankyou again.
Hi Amir, I'm well thank you! Hope you are too!! Our invitation cards were actually in English but tbh, I wouldn't have had it translated if it wasn't as it is an optional document, plus I'm sure they will know by the way it looks that it is an invitation card anyway. In terms of the chat logs, I just took screenshots like I showed in the video. Printing the whole chat is way too much paper work and I think it looks better when they are screenshots, seems more genuine to me. Don't listen to whoever gave you that advice, printing the chat is just another option, it's either or depending on your own preference

Hello, thanks for the helpful information. For the marraige certificate did you have it legalised / apostilled or just translated? What about the bank statement did you get that translated and legalised? Many thanks.
Hi, both our marriage certificate and bank statement came in English so there was no need for us to get it translated. The certificate was already a legal document as it was provided by the courts so we didn’t do anything additional and we’re able to submit it as it was.

On Facebook messenger. There's a feature called 'search in conversation'. If I were to search an uncommon word such as 'yesterday', it would bring up all messages where that word was used. If it was used 14 times a month. I could take a screenshot and in that 1 screenshot it would show those messages and date stamps. Which means I could show we've been talking all month with 1 screenshot.
(common words such as love are used over 10 times each day so it would only show a couple days on the screenshot on the search feature)
Do you believe this would this be better than taking 3 screenshots per month?
(important messages have been screenshot such as when we became bf gf, talk of engagement, planning wedding, planning future, etc)

Hey! there is no right or wrong way of providing them with the information. I think it is really good idea to get as many correspondence over the years on one page. They will mainly focus on the dates and times. It's definitely a good idea to keep the important ones separate as it will show the progression of the relationship also.

Ours were Bengali typed in English too but we had no issues. I submitted a few odd ones we sent in English like and of course ones with emojis and stuff which kind of shows them the conversation is a positive one

Walaikumsalam, they have never had a minimum amount of photos/screenshots and when I made the application I just submitted as many as I wanted really but I think with this new scanning system you are more limited with what you can send. I think they only allow you to submit 10 pages of pictures so it must be quite similar for the screenshots as well. I'm not too sure about the new changes really so please do some research on it, don't just take what I said for it.

Hi, I do not know much about other visas except the spouse visa but there have recently been many students coming to the UK and also bringing their families, I can only assume it is with the dependant visa but you should speak to a solicitor to confirm.

I just connected my phone onto the computer and put the screenshot images onto a word document (landscape) and then just made each one small enough so I could fit 10 on each page. Hope this helps. Hi Rukshana hope your well. Alhamdulillah i came across your channel and this has helped me a lot. I will in’sha’allah be applying for my husband soon. I had one question to ask: The screenshots of WhatsApp chats that i have i saved my husband’s name as ‘Husband’ and he saved me as ‘Wife’ so will this be a problem as our names are not there however both our mobile numbers are visible. Both our names do show on the chat but on one side he is saved as husband and i am saved as wife. Just want to know if this is a problem as i have loads of screenshots now and have printed some too.
Hey! We are well thank you and I hope you are too!! Aww, I wouldn’t worry about the names. Many people will have nicknames for their spouses and those have never been an issue so yours shouldn’t be either. As you said, your numbers are showing so it will be clear that those names belong to you both ☺️

Hi Ruksana, I was wondering about the WhatsApp messages evidence. I have been in a 2 year relationship with my wife. So do I have to screenshot 10 pictures from each day for 2 years or do I have to do like 10 pictures from each month over the two years?
Hey, thanks for watching! It’s honestly up to you how you want to provide them. The 10 screenshots a month is just how I decided to do them. As long as you’re showing them enough to prove you have been and are still in regular contact. It’s the same process again got the visa extension which is 2.5 years after the first visa so for that I plan to show them 2 months/3 months apart which you can do now because you have so much evidence. Hope it makes sense to you. Good luck with your application :)
Sister thanks for your quick response. This will be my first visa from India to enter to the UK. The only thing which is eating me up is. Should i do 10 screenshots of each day on a A4 paper, which is going to be 10 Screenshots x 730 day {2 years } = 730 paper's and 7300 screenshots, or should i go with 10 screenshots of each month of 24 months = 24 pages and 240 screenshots .? i hope you get what am saying. Taking screenshots is so tiring .
Hey, I think 24 pages is quite a lot tbh. Why don’t you do every other month so you have 12 pages or do 5 screenshots a month so you have 12 pages?
Hiya, quick question, did your supporting pictures have a date stamp on them? Is it an issue if they are not stamped?
Hi, we didn't have any stamps or dates on our pictures but I did handwrite our mehendi, wedding and walima dates on top of the first pages of those pics and then other other pics I put May 2016 with all pics from my trip then and Sept/Oct 2017 from all pics of my time with him after our wedding.

Hello ruks I have a small question, please don't think I'm being nosey but how much cash did you and your husband have in your savings account when you get your bank statement for the visa?
Hey! We didn’t have enough to use towards the cash savings required for payment, which is a minimum of £16,000.
I mean the cash amount you had in the savings (joint account) in Bangladesh when u get the bank statement and how long did you have the joint account for throughout that time
Oh sorry, I misunderstood the question. We didn’t have much at all. We literally opened the account at the then of September (before I returned to the UK) and put in maybe about a couple of 100tk or so and by the time our application was made we had had the account for just over 2 months. It was literally for the application, there was no other purpose for it. We also plan on opening on here too. Hope that answers your question!
Salaam sister, jzk for the video. I'm also in the process of getting my spouse to the UK. I took screenshots of the conversations and showed it to my solicitor to verify it. However, she did mention per screenshot needs to have the date on it. I see at 5:22 you have the dates per screenshot, would you please tell me how you managed to get them dates? also did you include everything you and your partner text the whole day? thank you
Hi, aww thank you for watching them! We didn't include the whole conversation, we messages each other and called each other soooo much it would have been impossible so just enough to cover the page really. Your solicitor is right, they need to see the dates of the conversation because otherwise they won't know that the conversation happened on different days. As far as they're aware, you could have had a long conversation one day and used screenshots of that conversation and claimed it was different days. It's just your word, it's not proof.
To get the dates to appear on WhatsApp, you need to touch the screen and scroll a little bit up or down but as soon as you let go, the date will disappear so it makes it hard to take a screen shot at the same time. So you need to use as many fingers as you can to hold the screen and take a shot at the same time. Hope this answers your question. I wish you the best of luck with your application :)

No, there's no need to provide a translation.They just want to see that you message each other regularly. It's mainly the dates that they are after.

Does the marriage certificate have to be translated in english?
Reason I am asking is that I only have an Urdu nikkahma + Nadra marriage certificate. Is this sufficient or do i need to translate the nikkama?
Hey, we translated our nikkama and our actual certificate was in English anyway. Personally, I would get it all translated if it’s not in English, I’m sure that’s a requirement. How else will they know it’s both of your marriage? It could be anyone’s nikkama/certificate

Also another question I need to ask is, say for example if I need to show immigration only 1 month worth of documents, wage slips etc will I need to only show whatsapp calls and mesages for just that month or could I include all our communication since we first started talking 3 and a half years ago? You should provide you conversation from when you first started talking really, especially from when you began a relationship. You don’t need to provide it all, just snippets off it over the years

Hi, you're talking about the WhatsApp chats, right? It shouldn't be a problem really, that's just how technology is unfortunately but I'm sure it does it for the whole year, right? Not just the 6 months. Like anything dates Jan 2018-Dec 2018 won't have the year at the end as we are still in January and then anything from he previous year will have the year at the end.
Ruks&Fam yes whatsapp. It doesn’t have a year at the end for just for the latest 6 months. So maybe if I just put a note or something. Its quite frustrating. But hopefullyit should be ok

Hi Mariela, thank you for watching my video. It’s best to show a combination of calls and texts really. It doesn’t have to be WhatsApp, it can be whatever app you use. That’s just the app the we used to use to communicate with so that’s why we showed those. Hope that helps answer your question, good luck with your application :)
Hi! Did you take and submit screenshots from both sides? I meant did you just take from your side and included in the application or did you also ask your husband to take from his side as well? I am just wondering should I only include the ones I have taken or should I also ask my wife to take the same ones but from her side?

For me, the chat export was super long and I didn't want to edit bit out to make it shorter as that would be tampering with it. I can see that it can be easily done though so I thought the screenshots would show a more genuine form of proof as they can't be edited and I can pick and chose the conversations/the dates I wanted to include so that I wasn't sending them a 1000 pages of just our conversation.

I have their contact information linked in the description box (hope the link is still correct). They do charge for the call but it is worth it. Our supporting documents came after we got the visa as well. Maybe 2 weeks after. I would suggest waiting a month before you contact them

Hi, if you have been married 2 years, then provide2 years worth of proof. If you have known each other longer than 2 years then provide that also. The longer, the better.

Hi thank you for watching my video. I am sorry to hear you are struggling. With WhatsApp phone calls, they need have been taken regularly because every time a new call is made, the oldest call is removed so it's very important to take the screenshot for the calls from very early on hence why I took my screenshots every month. I'm not sure how you can get them back. Is there any other way you communicated? Facebook?

You have plenty of evidence to show you have been in contact regularly for a long time so hopefully that is enough, however I am not sure whether or not they definitely need to see calls between you both. If you haven't taken any at all then I don't know what you can do about it really. Maybe just submit the most recent month or two if they are still available and explain why you only have those. They will still hopefully represent how often you speak in a day/month. Hope this helps! Good luck with your application :)

Hi Diana, thanks for watching. Yes lrettt much. I saved all my screenshots onto the laptop and then dragged and dropped them onto a word document (made the page landscape) and then resized them all so that I could fit 2 rows of 5 on each page and printed them in colour onto regular A4 paper.

Hiya, no it doesn't need to be as a conversation, it is just how I chose to do it. As long as they can see that you talk regularly from the samples you provide. Tbh, looking back on it now I wish I had taken 10 different days of the month or maybe picked 5 days and taken one in the morning and one in the night. It really is up to you how you do it, it's just a sample of how regularly you speak :)

Oh that’s good to hear that you’ve got all of your documents sorted. A wedding reception isn’t necessary but will really help make your application stronger. But you can explain that you had a private ceremony and just registered the marriage and your reasons why in your sponsor letter and maybe include some pics of just the registry.

How did you print those picture and edited them to be 5 on a page
I used Microsoft word and adjusted the images to a smaller size so that I could fit 5 on a page. I then printed them on normal A4 paper (not photo paper) using the printer we have at home. Documents don't need to be sent into UKVI anymore, they are all uploaded online so you can upload your pictures straight onto the website.

Hiya! No, I just sent mine as is as long as the company name is printed on it clearly and it's clear that it is an official wage slip. Just make sure your photocopies are A4.

In terms of proof of call logs, I haven’t taken in screenshot of the last 30 days, can we take them all at once or it MUST be taken straight after the call? As I don’t want home office to check the time of screenshot and all the 30 days be taken at the same time and chat media quantity remaining the same. My issue is chat log expires after a certain times meaning I don’t have anything for the last months or so…
Secondly my main important question is I got married to my partner in March however I have been in a relation with them for 2 years. I changed my number last month meaning I lost all previous conversation on the actual WhatsApp however I exported all the previous conversations, can we use exported chats and mention the number change????
Hi, call logs do expire unfortunately so just take as many as you can from now one, just take them regularly so you don't forget. It doesn't matter if you take all the screenshots on the same day. You cannot take them straight after the call, you must wait a week at least because otherwise the call list won't have a date it will just say "today", "yesterday" or "monday" etc. But a week later it will have the date.
Yes, exported chats are accepted so you can use that and like you said, just provide a letter explaining that you changed your number 😊

Hi, I don’t know what you mean about the chat media being different to the call logs but I just took screenshots of the call logs and if there were some video calls in the month that I was taking my screenshots of the calls then they would appear on the screenshot too, that way they can see the dates, times and duration of some video calls as well. I did also take screenshots of us on a video call. I show my screenshots in my relationship documents video from 2018. You should watch that, you may find it useful
Are proof of chat conversations still required? I heard it’s not mandatory now? I got married in March however changed number in June, will 3/4 months conversation suffice before application?
I have heard that before as well but I cannot say for sure as it was one of the big requirements when we made the first application. It’s not needed at all in the extension application.
You can only provide what you have and explain what happened. I’m sure those who have had arranged marriages sometimes only have a couple of month of history also. Plus if it’s no longer a requirement then it shouldn’t matter

Hi Bhavna, thank you for watching, I am glad you find them helpful! Yes, they can’t just take your word for it. This is the whole reason they do this lengthy process anyone can get married (marriage of convenience) but aren’t actually in a genuine relationship. It’s just for the passport and this is what they want to crack down on, fake marriages. So they want to see that you have spent time together and time with your friends and family. They want to see that you are in regular contact as a genuine couple would be. Hope this helps, good luck with your application :)

It is completely up to you what you show here. I showed them a mixture of conversations. Not that they would understand what we were saying because it was all in Bengali but I chose some normal conversations about how he was, what he was up to, how busy work was. Birthday messages and good luck messages for his ielts test, congratulating when he passed. I did add in messages where we told each other we missed each other and loved each other, when we agreed on a wedding date. Just a variety really. They don’t really read the messages, they mainly look to see how often you message each other so look at dates, time stamps, if the other persons name is clearly visible, the look at the phone number on call lists to make sure it matches what you gave in the application. Things like that.

There isn’t really a requirement, it’s up to you how many you provide as long as you put in a range of pictures that show your relationship. From when you first met (if you can) to when you got married and if you met again after that. Put in pictures of both of you and of both of you with your friends and family so they can see you are in a genuine relationship. Make sure you are in different outfits in some of them as well so they can see that hey were taken on different days. I provided 84 pics in total.

You don't need to show their contact number when taking screenshots of the chat. Just there name, and make sure the chat shows the date the messages were sent 😊
Hi Ruksana, although my relationship started in June 2020, I put together video call log from Sep 2020-October 2021, Call logs from Jan 2021-October 2021 and chat logs from March 2021-October 2021, is this fine? FYI we got married in July 2021, so my calls and chats show we were talking before our wedding.

Yeah that should be fine. You’re right, lost marriage stuff is more important but if you tell them you’ve been in a relationship pre-marriage then it would create a strong case for you to provide evidence of that

They can call anyone at any time for any reason but I don’t think they will question you on that small detail cuz you still have lots of relationship evidence for them to get a good prides from. There are far bigger concerns they will be looking out for

Hi Jasmin, I'm not sure what phone you use, it may be the same for an android too but on an iPhone when you scroll, it shows the date but when you stop the date disappears. So to get it on the screenshot, you need to used 3 fingers, one one the screen, one on the home button and one on the lock button. It is hard but definitely doable

Hi Tahrina, thank you for watching my video! It is ok that you had a court marriage, all these things are optional (except photos) as proof of relationship. It really is up to you how you can prove yours is genuine. I think photographs do that so they are a must really, don’t you have any from the court marriage? Photographs with your both with your friends and family. They also ask to see call lists and chat logs as well. So those three things I would say are the main things, of course the marriage certificate too but everything else is optional, you don’t have to follow my guide completely, it is just what I provided, amend it for your application how it suits you. I am a British citizen, it says on my marriage certificate that I have Pakistani nationality (by mistake). Will this be an issue during the application or can I show the Home Office that I have a British passport and this prove I have British nationality, and that I am the sponsor?
Hey, I don't think it will be an issue on your marriage certificate. My marriage certificate shows my bangladeshi address instead of my UK address and it has never been a problem. Exactly, your passport will prove that you're British. I also provided my birth certificate and my driving license for further proof.

Its a shame how whatsapp only shows the last few months of call logs.. I haven't been regularly taking screen shots and its too late now. I am going to use a backup extractor to get all the logs from my phone and supply call logs in a document. I hope they will accept this.
I totally agree with you! It really is rubbish. I was lucky enough to have started looking into visa applications o over a year before our application date so I started taking the screenshots as soon as I found out (11 months before our application). I think that would be good evidence as long as it shows the number you called, the dates and time, that’s all you need, doesn’t matter what format it’s in :)

Even u save his number as his real name but what if is someone else like u exchanging it. It would have been great number can appear on top of the screen urs n his. Hi, thank you for watching my videos, I am glad you like them. It’s true it can be miss used but not sure if you can see on our call logs that his number does appear on the screenshots and it matches the number he has provided in his application/at the biometrics appointment for receiving an sms when his passport is ready to collect. It’s more the WhatsApp chats that don’t show a number. Just that the name in the WhatsApp chat matches the name in the call logs and so do the images (display) on the 5 screenshots I took while we were on the phone match some of the images that I sent from our time together when I visited him in 2016, our mehendi, wedding, walima and our time after too. It can still be made up but it’s a lot of effort to make all of that up but I suppose some people are willing to go great lengths to fake marriages to be here. They’re the ones who decided at the end of the day. You can only do your best and hope they believe you. Hope that helps, good luck with your application :)

Aww, thanks! It was pretty easy actually, I just attached my phone to the laptop and dragged and dropped the images onto a word document. Once that was done I resized them all so that I could fit 10 on each page. I put the page in landscape mode. I used the same method for my photographs also just made them a little bigger and out 4 on each page.

Hi, you can send more than 6 months, if you have more conversation. I sent 1.5 years worth. If you have less than 6 months, that is fine too. As long as the chats can prove you have been talking from when your relationship began to when you make you application :)

Hi Yamaan, it's not really the conversation they are looking at but I would recommend you keep it classy and not use any rude kind of messages. They will mainly be looking at the dates and times to see how regularly talk.

I would say around about 100 of each should cover you, even that maybe too many. My screenshots didn’t have my name on them either just my husband’s name, neither of our numbers were present. Hi Grace, I’ve always just had my husband’s names as his original name with a ❤️ after it. I don’t think you necessarily need to have their actually names, if you use a nickname I’m sure that’s also fine as long as it is consistent

Grace Ab Hi! Sorry for the late reply! The number didn’t appear in the chat logs but only in the call logs. When you look at your call list there should be an “i” beside the call, if you click on that it should show you more information on that specific call like the date, time, duration, incoming or outgoing and it should have the contacts name and number. I was using an iPhone, not sure of it’s the same for an Android if that’s what you’re using

I provided a little bit every month from when we met until the month I applied and I still think it would have been fine if I did every 2 months. Last 6 months should be fine.
