Good afternoon Remi….nice one, really appreciate this video even after 1year. I really hope you see and be able to reply me pleaseee. I have questions regarding this. Firstly, who applied for this spousal visa, you or your husband??
Secondly, after the court wedding there is something like a name change in Nigeria, affidavit and publication and all, please in applying did you use your name as a spinser or your new name bearing your husband’s surname? Also am asking because documents like passport and certificate would be bearing your name before change (as in my case) and these documents would be submitted, so really want to know which name to use, if it affects the process or how to go about it all…will really appreciate to hear from you..thank you🙏🙏

Hi Remi, thanks for sharing this ,my husband is in the UK and am Nigeria,we got married in August 2019 we couldn't process my Visa application immediately due to some financial reasons to cut story short we've been trying to work on my Visa since 2020 but unfortunately the pandemic strikes till now have not been able to process my Visa,so my question now is, well thank God am opportuned to watch your video you said something about the English language requirement ,so in situations where I only have my ND(National diploma) what did you suggested/advise I do, thanks

Hi Thelma, unfortunately I won't be able to provide that as it has some private information but all you need is just a cover letter addressed to UK visas and Immigration just explaining your circumstances, how you met, why you want to move to the UK (in this case to live with your partner as a family) and your plans when you get to the UK and maybe include that you have no plans on relying on public funds as you plan to get a job or start a business (whatever the case may be)

Did you make the application yourself as outside of uk? And the supporting documents where they just scanned on to the application or copies had to be physically sent somewhere or did you need to take it with you to your biometric appointment? Did your husband send you his evidences as well too if you uploaded them. Hope you answer🙏🏽 i will be doing this soon
Hi, I did the application myself outside the UK, and yes I scanned the supporting documents and just uploaded, I didn't have to send physical copies anywhere. There is an option to take it to the biometric center and they can scan and upload the documents for you at a fee, but I had easy access to a scanner, so I did everything myself and uploaded before going for my appointment. I also uploaded my husband's evidences same way I uploaded all the other documents. I hope this helps

Hi, I didn’t have an embassy interview; so I’m not in the best position to make that. I don’t think they still do embassy interviews for Uk spousal visas from Nigeria, I think just try to put together a convincing application and hope for the best

Hi, I uploaded and submitted all my documents online, so i can't answer the question about packaging weight.
For the WhatsApp messages, I took screenshot, uploaded onto my computer, then placed 4 screenshots on an A4 sized word document, and once I was satisfied with everything, I saved the file as PDF. I did exactly the same thing with the photos

Hi, I don't know how it is done now but when I did mine, they gave me a visa that was valid for 30 days I think, and I had to travel within those days to pick up my BRP. So because I still had things to do in Nigeria, I came, picked up my BRP, then went back to lagos to take my time to finish up what I needed to do, I only stayed a week, so maybe this is something you can consider doing?

But please I want to ask you some questions, please I have being refuse usa visa before and now that I am applying for the uk spouse visa do I have to include in my application that I have be refused a visa before and beside I lost the document that was given to me at the USA embassy and please does my spouse also have to provide the same documents as chat n picture of us, as how am providing.
Hi, Yes it is important you include all previous Visa cancellations. And you only need to provide one set of documents so as long as you are providing the proof that clearly shows conversation between you and your spouse, then that is adequate in my opinion.
About Accommodation. Have they asked you online to provide details of how many bedrooms are there in the property or how many people are living their in the property and what are their ages and etc ??

I had a court (legal) marriage certificate, but I am not really sure what certificates they accept or do not accept, so I would say you should do your research

Hi, please, the 6 months of pay slips,if my bank statement ends in July, can I use it to apply in September? Or must it(bank statement)end in the same month of application? Also, what is the time limit beyond which I cant use it?
For example, TB certificate are valid for 6months.
The bank statements have to be within at least 28 days old by the time you submit the application. For example if you submit your application in 20 August 2021, then your latest bank statement cannot be more than 28 days before the 20th August 2021. Hope this helps

Hi Remi, this video was so helpful but I’ve got a question since I’m just coming across this after my husband has finished submitting his application.
Can I know if you went through TLS whether you used the self scanning option or they (the staff) scanned ur documents for you when you went for ur biometrics appointment. Just asking this because my husband after his biometrics appointment said to me that non of the documents I came back with as evidence for this application were scanned apart from the documents listed on the checklist he went with. This got my thinking that maybe he would still be called to provide those evidences otherwise there’s nothing there at all to prove that for example we are even married not to talk of being able to sponsor him, because tracking the application on the TLS site, the application has been received by the dmc and am sure they are the ones to take a decision and like u said the fees and other small fees all accumulate so wouldn’t want all these efforts to be in vain. Would appreciate your reply please.
Hi Linda, I opted for.the self scanning option and uploaded all my documents before attending my biometric appointment. I think your husband left a comment yesterday and that is quite concerning if they didn't scan all the other documents, I think right now you just have to wait till they get back to you, hopefully they will ask if they need additional information.

Immediately I saw the video and the list of things u submitted I was like yeah that’s self scanning cos am sure there’s no way these ppl would have scanned anything outside of what was listed in the checklist. Why did you get rejected twice ? What were the reasons?
Hi, so the first one was a Visa to Sweden to attend my Husband's (Fiance at the time) best friend's wedding, they said there was no proof of a direct relationship between the person and I and members of my country have been known to stay beyond their Visa expiry, they also stated the instability in my home country (Nigeria) as one of the reasons.
The second was a visitor visa to the UK to visit my Husband (again we were not yet married at the time) and for that we didn't provide enough documents for the sponsor (we didn't include his proof of employment) as I focused majorly on providing my own documents which was why when we were applying for the spousal visa, I tried to provide as many documents as I could, learned from my previous experiences

Hi, I think you should check gov.uk on how to go about your application if you do not meet the financial requirement.

Hi it wasn't a fiance visa, we were already married before applying for the visa, so yes we submitted our marriage certificate
How did you certify it? Like u here it's supposed be approved by British council if marriage was outside the UK? Help me with that CERTIFICATION process
I didn't need to certify it, I had my marriage ceremony in a court in Nigeria and the certificate is recognised even here in the UK. So I submitted my marriage certificate as i was given and had no issues

Hi, I am glad you found the video helpful. No they didn't ask for any extra documents after I attended the biometric appointment and I did not take any extra document to my biometric appointment as I had uploaded all the necessary documents.

Oh, I get it now. So the payslips were proof of financial requirements and on the gov.uk website, it is included as an example of what you can upload to prove you meet the financial requirement. We included pictures and chats voluntarily as proof of relationship, we weren't asked to submit those, we just chose to do that.
But just to be clear, did you upload other documents like marriage certificate, proof of address and the rest?

i didn’t upload anything because there’s this company called TLS and i think they work with the UK immigration and i had to pay 11,700naira and i think 55pounds for their services and it was paid online.
so they where incharge of the scanning of documents and all
so on getting there, they told me i paid for the wrong service because i am going for settlement and i am supposed to pay 37,500 naira which i paid even though i was very nervous about the whole thing
i even had to ask them how to get a refund of the first payment and they told me to go back online and request for that
which i already did but they’re taking me to another site and all
so apparently, i think they scanned all those documents because i can’t tell what they did with my documents because i was quite far from their system but they took all the documents i had and gave them back
but there was nothing like payslips,employment letter, tenancy agreement and all even though i had them with me
they only told me to bring what i saw on the checklist
i have been very nervous since then
