WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

Me too, he is eell spoken and knowledgeable. I wished he came back to the shows…
It takes an amazing amount of patience to listen to some these callers, who neither able think straight, nor talk straight. I am glad Matt Dillahunty, has the patience to do this on a regular basis. I cannot listen to this guy one second longer.

FFS Mark can you mumble any faster?
Normally these callers with a script never realize when their script gets destroyed and become more absurd. Brent seems smart enough to realize it and gracefully exit the call.
About 41:30, nitpick.. time isn't passing slower ON the ship travelling close to light speed. For those on the ship it passes normally, for those NOT on the ship moving at a different rate of speed and observing it, time is passing slower on the ship to the observer.

Creationist textbooks will just update their books with typesetting and layouts to start gouging in the same way modern companies do when they don’t have new developments to add to justify new texts.
if you want to see disturbing examples of that behavior ....look at what big publisher corps making games/movies media or that runs social plattforms or search engines almost tripped over themselfs in the reagerness to do on the sly the last decades.
~ Some of the callers should be comedians, not theists. Some of the callers sound delusional, and seem to be in need of good mental health care. They are ALL amusing, and sad, simultaneously. Cheers, DAVEDJ ~

While I wholeheartedly agree with the host's views on theism/atheism...their views on alien life is crap...same old "well this is what we can do so there is no way they can do something we cant"...guaranteed that 200 yrs ago if someone said we would put boots on the moon they would have said "nope not possible and its stupid of yall to think it could happen"...yet it eventually happened. I truly believe we have been visited and its only a matter of time before we find out how they have done it

I was told that Jesus' atonement covered all the other planets, and they learn about the Earth and Jesus all over the universe.
According to Matthew chapter 14, Jesus went into a desert, followed by a multitude.
They were hungry, so Jesus felt obliged to provide refreshments.
He commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass.
How odd, grass in a desert.
That's a misinterpretation, Jesus actually said, "sit down and smoke some grass".

The Big Bang model isn't completely correct. For one thing, there wasn't a BANG!
It is a model based on evidence available now. New evidence might change the model.
The evidence came first, the model came second. We didn't randomly pick a model.
The history of science indicates that models change and are sometimes replaced.

But like all models, it only approximately matches reality. I guarantee that model will be amended. Newton's model was based on incorrect premises. E.G. he assumed gravity acts instantaneously.
Roger Penrose is already working on a completely different model that fits the facts.
I don't accept his ideas yet because they are still being developed.

We don't know that the Big Bang was the "beginning".
In ancient times, the number series started with one.
Then some bright spark invented zero, then another invented negative numbers and so on...

@@guyparris4871 Why would you say that it's a run on sentence it seems just like a regular sentence like the kind that I write all the time so please explain to me why it is a run on sentence so I can make sure I don't accidentally write a run on sentence by mistake.

The simple answer to a story about aliens coming to earth is that, EVEN with idea they could travel near the speed of light, would have to be SO close to us that we would have found their exoplanet already.
I'm really starting to not like shows with Martin. He never shuts up. It's like he has to make up for lost time. He says something, repeats it, then puts it in other words then keeps going where he thinks the person is getting to. The elephant question the guy wants to say why he asked and Martin starts saying, "but if you said this or this, ..." Trying to cut off the caller and get there before he does. And here, matt still has to give his answer and Martin corrects his original answer while matt talks.
I don't agree. He just has a different delivery style to Matt, and that's why they make a good team IMHO ;)
Earings
I'd have to disagree with the alien theory. Cause Matt & Martin are thinking withing the constraints of modern earth technology. Aliens may be at the Star Trek level of advancement where space travel was routine and going from one planetary system to another would be done as quickly as talking into another room. I think a better answer the caller would be asking why advanced aliens would visit primitive earth? All they'd see is the sadness of how primitive, warlike, and stupid we are.
There is no reason to believe aliens can travel like that. I think the more important aspect of Martin's comments are that they have not appeared and left no evidence of their visitations - except for silly things like crop circles etc. Why would they come here and not try to make proper contact?
If they are anything like us, their appetite for the trivial increases as their technology improves - we are probably the top rated reality show on Krimptl-fleej-6!
