WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

Don's laughter is the best part of this call
don's the ed mcmahon of axp
Don is the top second banana, no wait, Ray Comfort has the patent on bananas.
I love his laugh!
Ryan something and hell bringer, every single episode. Thank you. I thought I was the only one saying that. He does so much damage. But now Russell has gotten on my radar. Between his total lack of being able to figure out obvious trolls, his terrible scenario/examples to get people to understand, he loves explaining things in too much detail when caller's can't understand the basics. Then not calling people on how wrong they are on calls that do understand. He was better in the early years. Now he is overboard on politeness and not making caller's own up to anything
He looks like a real life Homer Simpson
Don Baker has the best laugh. I've been cracking up this whole entire time.
"Buy a better globe!" LMAO still one of my favorite AXP clips of all time.
I love Don's laugh during Kevin's call :)
I had to join in XD
Dear Canada, on behalf of all Americans, I'm sorry our batshit fumes have drifted upward to Guelph, where they made Kevin a dingdong.
Rebecca Smith Guelph is REALLY CLOSE to Hamilton, Ontario. You may have heard of a fundie family in Hamilton. Husband was sick & bedridden. They prayed for healing. He got gangrene. They prayed for healing.
He died.
They prayed for resurrection. And prayed. And prayed. And sealed up the room with duct tape when the body started decomposing. But they kept praying...
I live jut down the highway from both cities. Sigh.
Oh, man, that is bad! I mean, like, William Faulkner novel bad...my condolences, Bruce.
Bruce Baker Wasn't he laying there in bed, with his new career pushing up daisies, for months? They were waiting and praying for him to rapture? I think I read about that on Huffington Post.
Don's laugh at around 55:00 was hilarious. It was so on point, with all that the caller said.
I love Don Baker. He just sits there and laughs his ass off during the calls. Kinda what I do.
I was laughing so hard right along with Don.
This is the first caller I've seen that Matt was able to laugh off lightheartedly. Maybe he was just in a good mood.
48:34 "Indicating that the Universe is only UNDER 10 000 years old"
50:00 "Because of MILLIONS of years of accumulated dust"
Welcome to paradoxia
"...and there are some wackos out there..."
Ow! The irony! It hurts when I hear it!
"Buy a better globe!"
LOL, leave it to Matt to come up with the most practical solutions.
I love how the title song sounds more and more epic with each show!
These guys have the most amazing level of patients! I couldn't handle someone that had not done their research.
Message on Kevin's basement door: 'Don't forget to take your meds, Sweetie! I'll bring them down, and slip them under the door. -Mom'. ; ]
SIMKINETICS Hi this is the Kevin in this episode of atheist experience. You know I’m just not getting it. Take my meds? The bible did say Israel in the latter years would become a reborn nation and it did. And that nobody will ever drive the Jews out of their promised land ever again. Check mark for precision accuracy on those details. And the whole world can see it. Well accept for blind by choice, willingly ignorant people like yourself. Well better hope the bible is not precision correct on you ignorant people scorching in hell for eternity. Are you leading your children there too?
Jay Morgan Yep. Keep on believing life comes from a rock. That’s pretty sane eh?
Jay Morgan I don’t have the power to show you God. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t exist. Glad I could educate you there. But yeah you probably could show me some rocks that you believe did all the thinking and decision making required to design and engineer a human anatomy. I won’t argue with you on that one. Lol.
@@naturalborntruthseeker2377 Wow, are you still scientifically illiterate? I'll go with OP's comment. "Don't forget to take your meds, sweetie."
Good show, even including Kevin. I discovered while listening that, even though I like hearing your responses to callers, most weeks, it is an amazing relief to hear a continuous period of clear, rational communication (you two and Bill) for a whole ten or fifteen minutes. A nice break.
Don Baker made my day with his definition of a miracle. Sure it would be :DD
From everything I've seen of it, they're calm and civil - it's only when callers are being ridiculously insulting and are going in circles lying their asses off that it just get a little ridiculous - they'd be inhuman not to get a little agitated. Even so, I noticed multiple times that they've been extremely patient even with the biggest zealots.
That caller was comedy gold.
I'm so glad they got a caller like this, it's been a while....!
Matt, you killed with the "Harold Camping, admitted he was wrong" line.
That was a great show. I loved Kevin. He's so delusional it cracks me up.
"How can christians with their omnipotent and omniscient God helping them out, fail so often? And the answer is, there is no such God. So the failures are expected."
Damn. Don can really deliver such a devastating line in such a quaint, subtle way. That little remark blew me away a little.
I live in a bunch of mountains. My stepfather is a pentecostal preacher. A friend of his, Wayne, is a geologist with a young earth creationist bent. When we were kids, Wayne would take us into the mountains, crack open rocks, show us the fossils. We were at the top of one of the taller mountains around here and he said that about sedimentary rock. I asked him a question he couldn't answer. I asked "how did the sediment get to the top of the mountains?"
I predict that the entire country will be rained upon by fire.
No doubt there will one day be a volcanic eruption or a huge fire that effects some country.
Kevin, you can call me Cheezus.
Huge fires now in Australia.
Kevin, I am your Lord!
LOL DONS LAUGH DURING KEVINS CALL
hahahahahah that guy that called in and said magic fountain made the ocean lol
“I cry because others are stupid and it makes me sad.” Sheldon Cooper
"Buy a better globe!" lmao
im not sure if the caller was sincere or not, but this is easily one of the best episodes ive seen in a while. Too bad that kevin guy didnt have the capacity to admit he was wrong on every one of his points.
The first word that came to my mind listening to Kevin was “oblivious”. It’s like he doesn’t have a clue how badly he was failing.🤤
"sedimentary rock, means settled by water" 42:20 actually you can also have sedimentary rock formed by wind
I bought a snow globe, shook it up and the snow settled on the bottom. That proves the Flood, Noah and the entire Bible! 😂😂😂 (according to the delusional Kevin)
This show is pure comedy. Kevin one of the funniest callers ever!
I can't believe that Matt didn't hang up on this bat-shit crazy Kevin 5 minutes into the conversation...sheer torture
That is a great observation in which I concurr.....
If you want to see the "breaks in the ocean," you can look at GI Science's layers. There are effective representation of the sea floor and of tectonic plates. I'd like to say that the reason that we don't include all the information we know on maps is that we have a lot of information. A map is a re-presentation; map's authors have an agenda, to show information quickly and succinctly. If one were to create a map with all the information we know on it, all the working models, and all of physics in play, it would not be useful.
@theatheistexperience Well done on another good show. Very jolly.
I'm gonna start saving for a trip to Austin in 2013.
"Boy irony's really thick right now" LMFAO!!!
Kevin, never met a conspiracy theory he did not immediately fall in love with.
I was disappointed that they only had time for one caller. Kevin, you made up for it. One of the most ridiculous callers I have seen. As a physicist and military vet, I find your call one of the most entertaining ever on the AE. Thank you for the great laughs. Let me know if you are ever in town with your comedy act. I will pay money to see that show.
Yeah I really wish they would get rid of that damn Sunday buy of alcohol that is probably the dumbest law ever.
We can buy alcohol 24/7 here in California. Jealous? :)
thedeebo410 Extremely!!!!
thats brilliant bro
Wow, we haven't had a caller like that in such a LONG while.
Matt, PLEASE come to Toronto!!!
There is a story going on right now about Pastor MacBain in Tallahassee, FL who has came out as an atheist and stepped down from the position and left the church.
entertaining episode.
56:48 I couldn't stop laughing!
thank you so much
Thank you.
That Arroyo restaurant is going to be doing quite a bit of business next year I guess.
"Craft night"? What, are you, making macaroni sculptures of Darwin?
Man I wish this topic was covered just a few days later so Don could talk about NOM.
Missouri too
word.
Same is true for every other religion I encountered so far.
this caller kevin reminds me of gomez from bloodlines who rang into the talkshow on the radio talking crazy shit
"Kevin" is a prank caller. I heard him pull the exact same arguments in an earlier show.
Matt is brilliant.
I hope Kevin calls back. He's gotta be one of the most wacko callers they've ever had.
I loved it how Don casually pointed out that all catholic priests are sexual deviants for being celibate. I mean if something really deviates as far as possible from the norm of human sexuality, denying yourself any form of sexuality when you still possess desires has got to be it.
The wall and my head thank you. It was like arguing with an obnoxious child.
The entire show should have been Kevins call. That was great entertainment. I'd love to have some drinks with Kevin. I can't stop laughing.
Is Kevin really Mark From Stone Church? He sounds familiar.
Kevin Please call in again next week! This is funny stuff.
29:42 awesome laugh.
30:00-32:00 Matt you made my day! xD
This was the funniest episode yet. I can't get over how ignorant the caller was.
omfg this was hilarious, GOD i love this show ;)
55:05 Don: OH THE HIPOCRICY! LOOOOL
"there are some whacko's out there" - Kevin LOOOL
I don't remember being recruited either. :0
Great we are evolving. Thank you
Next, you'll have Edward Current calling in. Hell, even have him as a guest host. :)
what? social engineering is a great way to get infor...oh, thought you were talking about hacking... ;-)
I noticed that the caller didn't ask don and matt why they were laughing.
that was that 'austin stone guy!' imo
20 gigs is the max on youtube so filesize wouldnt be the problem.
I do understand that they might not have the internet speed to upload in 1080p but they could do 720p with high compression and still get amazing looking video with a small file because there isn't a lot of movement in the video.
i had a preacher say the same thing. his excuse for the wine was it wasnt ferminated
half of the show for the topic and announcements? That is not working on the new short format.
Christians built their cathedrals with the help of arches, which were invented by the Mesopotamians in 2000 BC. A miracle from Enlil, chief god of the Pantheon. Oh no, wait, it was human engineering.
Anne Bouman One must wonder what kind of thoughts struck these people when they came up with these engineering feats, no matter what it is. I can really imagine how thrilled they were each time.
Damian Freeman Simply had to mock the caller there. But you are right: it is quite amazing when you think about it and the structures are still standing, which I think is a testimony to the peoples intelligence, willpower and stubbornness.
I have a great appreciation for classical cultures, even if their philosophy seems a bit off.
36:35 for the first call
From Ireland.
Still trying to figure it out.
=( Will we ever get an Atheist convention in Ontario?
Wish I knew how to recruit!
As Canadian I must apologize about that caller, we will try to boost our education
The law prohibiting alcohol sales on Sunday.
Definition of "theory" from the internet: A supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, esp. one based on general principles independent of the thing to be. I like the part that says "based on general principles INDEPENDANT of the thing to be." That means the facts may not match the presupposed principles. And since there are so many out of place human artifacts found in alleged "prehistoric" rock layers that do not fit with these concocted principles than the theory.....
As an Atheist I pride myself in being logical, thinking critically, and changing my views on even the most important issues when provided overwhelming evidence to the contrary. I'm not saying you just laid out a lot of evidence but you made a good point. I think I have to reconsider my thinking on that. The other thing that I guess I didn't think about was all the family members of the accused witches (victims) that had to cope with the loss of a family member. Cheers!
Let's see how logical you remain when I ask "how did you determine your particular non-theistic worldview is true?"
Theist: Heads I'm right, tails your wrong.
No fair, you're using a two headed coin.
36:35 for the caller
1000 years earlier: How about we just declare the entire city mecca so we can all get along?
saucery? "Oh my god, this dressing is tangy...Hes a witch!" lol sorry the way he pronounced it was funny.
I feel so sorry for Kevin. Apparently his parents locked him in a closet for most of his developmental years. That's the only thing that explains how he doesn't understand even *basic* science. Wow.
I'll be going to Austin in 2013! I hear it's the best town in Texas.
It sounds like "Mark" from that Austin Stone church... Are we sure it isn't him again?
I was at the Reason Rally, it was sad to see not that many Anarcho-Capitalists, Libertarians, or Conservatives that were atheists :(
oh I am
I'm not sure witch hunt went down with the Renaissance. It may be the case for some regions, but where I live it hit high tide well after the Reformation into the XVIII century (that's 1700s).
Heh, it's potholer54, not potholder54, but yeah, pretty much everything he does it brilliant!
The link you provided does not work, it sends you to youtube's home page for some strange reason. I searched "(1969) czech movie about witch trials in Europe" and I found it. It's titled "Kladivo na čarodějnice (Witches' Hammer)" /watch?v=CaPNGb5aRoU
