Thank you that was an excellent tier list keep up the good work and yes I think you hit the nail on the head sota speak
Have my fingers crossed for an Oct release of the new Valve headset and even though someone else mentioned it, the Big Screen Beyond is an A based on your rankings (does not offer enough features for the price, but brings some pretty big changes that were needed in the current market). I think after launch a price drop to 700-850 for the Big Screen will make it a top contender in the market for a long time, especially with the new Vive inside out trackers removing the lighthouse requirement.
Great vid!
i'm on board for the psvr2 it's just a little expensive right now and there's almost no games out. Will keep an eye on this from the coming months.
Mission! Love your content and passion for Vr! I met you and talked with you in a Pop lobby a couple of weeks ago. I'm still hoping and crossing my fingers for Pop to come to psvr2!
Hell yea brother!
Hope I catch you on the battle field again!
Nice video, I’m currently rocking an oculus rift S looking to upgrade the first chance I get. PSVR2 isn’t an option as I don’t want to buy a PS5 aswell. The crystal sounds interesting though
Definitely looking forward to the Pimax 12k
Do you know if the somuium had pan cack display or do we know yet ?
As someone new to VR, I’m considering the XR Elite because of the dioptrics (I wear glasses), comfort, usability (inside-out tracking, WiFi 6e), price within reason is irrelevant and I hate Facebook - I’m looking for something easy to sink my teeth into, if I get hooked my next headset can be more amazing and I’ll have more playspace to dedicate by then
The Vive XR checked a lot of boxes for me too. Mine should be delivered Tuesday. Meta can suck it. I’d rather pay more to support a company with an open repair and platform approach.
I just sold my Quest 2 and picked up PSVR 2 and Vive XR Elite.
The Q2 fixed IPD settings cause me eye strain and motion sickness. The PSVR 2 doesn’t cause me any eye strain or motion sickness. I can play GT7 for a couples of hours straight. I can’t use the Q2 for more than 15-30m.
The PSVR 2 has been awesome, looking forward to playing with the Vive.
eye-tracking and foveated rendering are the most important features, they increase performance and decrease hardware requirements... IT IS A MUST
Isn't the XR elite AR on top of VR? Isn't it a huge feature over the meta quest 2??
How did the beyond not make this list?
I think you had some good points about XR Elite, especially Meta's games library for native function. But I think there are a lot of reasons the XR Elite is looking like a strong competitor and in my opinion a better value and quiet possibly a better headset. The first and biggest reason is comfort. It is considerably lighter than the Quest Pro and the form factor truly should be the gold standard for headsets moving forward. Comfort for many people is the main barrier to enjoying VR, and the Quest Pro still feels heavy to most users after long play sessions. It has better color passthrough that doesn't warp the image and make some users nauseous. Its cheaper, and it has hot swap battery system. Obviously I don't have one in my hands yet but I think it could end up being a better pick for a lot of users based on comfort alone.
In XR elite can add local dimming and self tracking controllers, display port in XR elite 2 I will buy one instantly.
@@-racingfan2014 Yeh think the self tracking controllers make for a big hole in the XR Elite's ability to compete against the Pro, then there is the eye and face tracking as well so? Never had a problem with comfort but having ridden motorcycles for years I am probably more used to the feeling of having weight on my head. Obviously I realize lighter is going to be better and hot swappable batteries are a must for a headset that has such terrible useage-life. The last seems the bigger advantage but it doesn't seem nearly enough. If it had uOLED screens maybe, I'd consider it then but if the Q3 is going to have them I'd just wait.
2 words. Removable battery something the quest pro does NOT have. That alone puts it in B if not A tier when it comes to mobile use.
I just want a VR headset that utilize the power of my PC.
I just want a headset that is in the 400-600$ range that I can plug into my PC or via wireless that has a larger fov then quest 2 and higher Hertz then quest 2 and higher resolution
Our only hope is valve
@@crashdude7589 and valve's headset will probally come in at around $800 if i had to guess
@crashdude7589 I just want them to officially confirm the Deckard. Even if it's more than a year out. Even if it's going to be $1k. I'll just save for it. But if I know it's confirmed I won't go and buy the psvr2.
@steelcorpse5332 honestly with how the Steam Deck was priced I could see the headset having a sliding scale for pricing with more features added for a higher price.
Pcvr is dead again bro, no money to be made there, no developers will touch VR games. Too much risk and work with no return. Notice only new hardware is being made for pcvr....?
whats the rooftop shoot n loot game in the videp?
Population 1. Basically fortnite in VR. It’s super cool
Bigscreen beyond is missing now ;)
Really hope the Q3 does have uOLED displays.
My original Quest is starting to show it's age and I will not buy an LCD headset for VR.
It’s going to have similar micro led displays like quest pro, but without the quantum dot layer, uOLED won’t be a thing in lower end headsets until next year, but I believe it will in quest pro 2 if it does come this year alongside quest 3
I don't understand the lack or urgency when it comes to developing/including eye-tracking and foveated rendering - these two things are crucial to making VR accessible to a mass audience because they remove the need for a $1000+ PC and an $800+ GPU.
I will get the quest 3 on launch day!
Excited for the HTC Vive XR Elite but the price!
Well, 26 March i'll have a budget of 1.1k, should i wait? Good tracking, decent resolution like a midterm between 4k and 1080p (aka 1440p but im not sure) and a full pcvr experience is all i desire, since i've got a high-end pc after economizing money for 5 years.
I don't live in the Matrix so the Quest 3 makes more sense, financially as well as personal commitment The Sony offering may get as well
Dude fix your audio really like the content but I felt like your audio was going to damage my good head phones. Had to use my crappy pair!
The loud music in the background is really annoying
PSVR2 = AAAVR Gaming.
No
@@shawngoing OH YES!
PlayStation VR2 is just under $1200 with some Triple A games - how is that affordable ? Hopefully, some games will come free in the box . Nice piece of kit though BUT the WIRES - NEVER Going BACK tbh .
$1200? you can get it for 950...
Playstation VR2 is under $600 without any games.
Do you factor in the cost of your PC when weighing the price of the other non-standalone headsets? I'm a PCVR player and even I know this is a stupid comment.
PS5 is a pretty great console on its own, but if you don't have any interest in flat games then I'd say the PSVR2 is not worth it. But that should be kinda obvious. It's like buying a house because you really like the toilet installed in the bathroom.
@@bobtillich8306 Canadian
@@GiggaGMikeEEveryone knows you reply to comments & say they are stupid . Why is my comment stupid ? I don't have a Mega PC , can't afford something like that , I just have a laptop for school plus I have to share it sometimes with my siblings on my Reservation .
I wanna get the the Quest 3 , but launching the Oculus PC app to access Steam is a pain in the buttocks.
Ehh.. it’s not that bad. Being able to be on PCVR is worth the trouble!
@@MISSIONVR IDK it's just something running in the background.
1920*1920 on Vive XR Elite. What a joke. 2017 wants its resolution back.
No, absolutely not. The ViveXR Elite is the best one -> Dioptrics, the weight, changing battery and steam VR. This is the best. The only Question is, can U play PopOne with it!?
You shoulda seen everyone at the VR event when everyone said PlayStations new psvr2 is the best they've seen.
I think this headset is good but not great
You know
Like it's not great but I think it's ok
Thats how I feel
Maybe it could be great but I think it's just good
Maybe it will be great i dont know
But i just feel that it's good
I don't know maybe it's great
But I feel it's....
Dude. How many times you goina repeat yourself?
bit helpful. looking up best VR 2023 and every1 just talk about thing from 2021 and older
Pimax software and headset bricking and things breaking is higher than any other company expect valves paper mache controllers. The amount of accessories that thing has for the prices they are listed at is ridiculous. The size is ridiculous, still got those stupid over ear speakers that are from the index. Basic ass quest 2 controllers that at CES had battery issues while being flimsier than quest controllers. We all know the standalone performance is not taking that full resolution like it would in pc and would either have to deal with poor fps or lower quality. Pimax has got the sketchiest website I've ever seen for a "major" company. For a vrchat user, the HTC xr elites glasses form factor connected to an external power supply via wall or bank in pocket is miles better as well as the hand tracking as its got cameras on the sides letting you probably put your hands behind your head and removes the need for controllers. The displays are the only downside in comparison to the quest pro. It's 270 grams, don't know how heavy the pimax is but I know the quest 2 is 600 grams, the quest pro is like 50 grams lighter and the index is fucking 800 grams. And the psvr2 is not pc compatible and only for broke under performing console gamers, so therefore its garbage. I don't know why it's S tier.
I think the crystal will be the best hmd vor simracers or other sims. I had pimax 5k, 8k, 8k plus and now the 8kx for years. All worked out of the box with no problems. The software is great for me.
@@christiandoninger5951 crystal is too big for me to be comfortable and heavy and has those old as hell over ear speakers which I wouldn't want to lay on. Also it doesn't come with a depth sensor or more importantly wifi 6e without accessories. Gay.
@@JohnnyADi Gay… what a serious statement. For sim enthusiasts like me all these things don’t really matter. You sit only with no fast headmovements. But really sharp image with good view in distance is very important.
@@JohnnyADi i get that you dont like the ergonomics, but straight up bashing the product calling it names is just petty, plenty people i have chatted with and looked at reviews said crystal is the clearest headset ever and everyone thats tried it said the fov makes it hard to go back to any other headset. im waiting for the pimax 12k because that will have 6k resolution per eye. I watch a lot of videos using virtual desktop and big screen theater, and watch vacation videos on alcove. pc gaming and 3d movies is what i will use pimax for. if i want to do casual light gaming then ill use my quest. It may not be for you and thats fine, but straight bashing it i think is messed up. Many vr enthusiasts appreciate that pimax is trying to push the envelope. If there wasn't a pimax , it wouldn't push other companies to give better features and keep competitive pricing.
@@kaelkent2496 it's not that pimax intentions are bad, the execution is trash, look at their new game portable headset, trash, rushed, everyone says it's bad, the crystal, the trade off is the store has 100% pay back for the creators, so you need to pay for all the over priced accessories and also pimax just like valve is unreliable for 80% of people. Also both heavy and big.
I'm sorry but the psvr is not gonna be the best vr of 23. Neither that somnia stuff. Your waaay off.
Rendering the entire VR screen in full resolution is pointless.
Quest 2 is the best and cheapest
No not at all
You are wrong. The Quest 3 will be sold at the same price as the Quest 2, but with pancake lenses and 2x stronger and faster hardware. Honestly, I feel sorry for the people who bought a new Quest 2 because they couldn't wait/ didn't know that the Quest 3 will release later this year.
cheapest maybe, better hell no.
Even the pico 4 is better at the same price.
100% - Everyone attacks Quest 2 but if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best and that has not happened yet. can't wait for Quest 3! :~))
@@somerandompeepsect40 i have had my quest 2 since last february, so by the time a quest 3 comes out , it will have been almost 2 years for me. Honestly based on the specs ive read about quest 2, i dont see the need to spend 500 dollars to do a minimal upgrade to a quest 3. Instead my money will be going to a pimax 12k, and yes it will cost 2000 dollars more but it will be worth it. every video i have seen on pimax crystal people are already saying its just as clear as the varjo and much better than pimax previous products that had issues. People are saying the pimax crystal is actually a solid headset this time around. The pimax crystal is is 3k resolution per eye. So if the crystal is this good , then imagine what the pimax 12k will be when it finally comes out. The pimax 12k will be 6k per eye. It will be truly next level.
