Thats content we all need
Not only a really cool case mod but you finished it so quickly! Personal growth right there haha
It only took the pausing of a different project, lol
quick? cool mod? does it really look better then it did before they took it out of the box?
@@bmomosaikwell...yes...much... but then again taste is subjective :]
@@nemtudom5074 Haha fair point lol maybe that's why, procrastination
This "Nerdforge like" kind of content is what I enjoy the most, as it works like food for creativity and it's really fun to watch 🤩
You really got into that build, man! Looks killer! I'm excited to see some more builds in the future, it's great content.
Absolutely blown away that you got this done in under a month. I thought for sure when you started this mod it wasn't going to get finished. Boy was I wrong.
I wish I had more time to follow along to these builds. So much time goes by before he finally finishes one. Plus he'll start a couple other projects in that time which makes me forget about them.
you've really leveled everything up recently. production quality / editing, the workspace, your builds, and your ability to actually finish systems! excited to see the future of J2C!
Kicks LTT in the balls!
I rarely comment on a video, but this is beautiful! 3D printing really leveled up the game here.
You'd get oixidisation from the atmosphere in the ship, so, scorch marks from breachs that lead to oxygen loss sound legit. Also some propellant or explosives may well carry their own oxidiser that could leave scorch marks.
Laser strikes on painted surfaces if there's any oxidisers in the paint (or, ablative armour).
Suggestion for the Protomolecule design if you add it later on - perhaps a material that glows blue under UV would give a cool effect, and it could be backlit by a small DIY led (or just a bit of UV led strip).
3 possible methods - 3D print it in a UV fluorescent filament (as I know you experimented with it recently); mix up some UV reactive powder into a viscous glue like PVA; or mould it from epoxy (many resins glow under UV, just try to find a more 'blue' one!). Maybe add some large grains of carbon black grit too for a more 'speckled' look?
Ooo. Then make the uv LEDs pulsate randomly for even better effect ...
This is why I keep coming back to see Jayz videos, almost always entertaining and something different from the majority of PC focused youtubers. Thanks Jay, Nick and Phil !! Keep up the hard work
The fire effect really is the final touch to the build. Beautiful mod as usual!
This case mod turned out fantastic. Great imagination and execution and we got a bonus by you getting it done so fast!
All of those details, choices & happy accidents made this into an absolute beaut!! Well done, team!
Super awesome final build! The lit damage hole behind the GPU looks fantastic, and the PDCs definitely help sell the spaceship feel. I feel like there's a way to use EL Wire for part of the protomolecule effect (at least the brighter stringy bits).
Wow that looks incredible! Love the attention to detail especially on the "Damage effect" where it looks like somethings blown outwards!
what detail? its all from 3d modeling and thats just a bunch of boxes stacked
@@bmomosaikreally? Fine if you don't like it, but don't criticize others opinions on it..
Two things I love about this build: 1) Jay goes full model building nerd and gets all the details perfect (IMO) and 2) he gives props to Nick and Phil for their contributions. This is, by far, my favorite content they put out. I enjoy the other video formats, but seeing their talent regarding the fine details astound me. Great job guys!!!
This build really does look so sick! Also props on the B-roll montage. Great music choice and the shots really show everything off well.
This is soooo nice, the amount of detail and idea is beyond words. Well done it.
Another way to create protomolecule would be clear epoxy resin poured over chunky glass fit to a mold of your design incorporating leds for the desired effect. Like a mold made of clear acrylic to be covered with chunky glass to be covered with the clear epoxy to hold it all together. The acrylic pyramid would be of whatever design you wished to get the proto molecule look you wanted.
Thank you Jay, Nick, Phil, and the entire crew. Personally, I watch your channel mostly for the entertainment, and maybe learn a little along the way. It's been a fun series. Everyone has different tastes in art, but I find it difficult to criticize anyone who has put this much time and effort into a project such as this. Looks fantastic.
This looks amazing! Loved the build process and gave me a few ideas for future builds. Thank you for doing such amazing work and also showing us what not do to (glue panels together) so that we don't make the same mistakes as well. Awesome job!
Amazing job. Really miss this type of custom build content with so much character. One of my fav builds was the Terry Crews build because of all the attention to details that went into it. even tho it could be 2, 3, even 500 dollars of someones time, would love to see more custom themed builds.
I wanna see more of this kind of content! That was a really nice little "serie" of video, result look fantastic, can't wait to see your next project.
Theoretically, scorching could happen in space. Metal slugs and rounds hitting things creates a lot of heat and these ships need to have some type of atmosphere inside them for human habitation which that heat and metal could react with as it escapes. So, theoretically it could happen. Additionally, kinetic rounds in space, where there is no resistance due to friction, won't lose any velocity until impact. If hitting at a high enough velocity those rounds could very well be vaporizing themselves and parts of the ship, similar to tank rounds which melt on impact. That could potentially create super heated gases as well. Love the mod and can't wait to see what else you come up with!
Amazing stuff! I love SFF builds, simply because of hom much power you can fit into a small space. An idea for the GPU fans, maybe paint the inside of the cones metallic silver, so the light from the vents can reflect from that and create the illusion of the "blue fire". For the accents, I think printing it on a paper, then cutting it and simply making a template for the stripes could work. Great team effort (hats off to Nick for putting Jay's ideas into physical objects) and the buid turned out really nice :)
I am flabbergasted how fast and crazy good this build went! In Germany I would say "Lutsch mich rund und nenn mich Bärbel!!!!"
you a bot?
@@bmomosaik no 😄my German sentence is from a German Comedian but I think when you use a translator it might go in the wrong direction sorry 🙈
Proud of you bro. I know how difficult projects like this can be, especially with ADHD.
You accomplished something significant today, and you should be proud of yourself.
I love the use of carpet tape. I use it all the time at work for various things.
Looks awesome! Your ITX builds always look great. Can't wait for the next one!
Nice work Jay. Your passion shows during builds like this. Heck of a fun watch.
happy watching this build jay
Love to see more of this!
Friggin sick work. You guys killed it! The Expanse is such a good series.
Jay, buddy! I am so proud of you. YOU DID IT! Ya finally finished a build. Big pat on the back, friend. Looks amazing. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.
That damage effect makes this build. It looks fantastic between the paint work, frayed wires, lighting, and exposed back of the GPU 👏
I *love* how much or a team job this build is! Great content Jay, Nic, and Phil!
Having a 3D printer has upped your game big time.
The way the back of the gpu chipset/SMDs line up with the damage hole turned out really great. Not sure if that was planned or just a happy accident but it's awesome either way.
I love the way it pushes hot air through as well so it's really "burning" there. awesome job Jay!
Love to see the build videos again.
You taught me how to water cool my first pc and have loved watching your content ever since.
That's gents!! Great build!!
The Expanse is my all time favorite sci-fi show….I binge it every other week! I need to make my own custom build now…wish me luck!
Still think the side with the thrusters looks like a minion going "OH!" with a big spot on the other side of its face ;)
I think it looks like Bender from Futurama lol
Was not expecting the build to be done so fast, it looks really amazing and I really loved this series. Your passion really came through!
Great execution! Thanks for sharing the experience and the thought process behind it, hope to see more content like this , no doute you guys can make great things together.
Awesome build Jay. I think it came out great. Enjoyed the videos.
I really prefer these videos over any tech news or boring 13900k/4090 videos. Just Jay having fun and we learn something. I would add the orange stripe. I think it looks good.
Love that there's a little bit of each member the team in the build might be why this went faster than the other builds
Looks Awesome, the top panel looks like the hatch sun shade on a 85 firebird! 😄
It's perfect Jay! 👌Your work has inspired me with my own PC modding.
Super sick build! Re-watching The Expanse for a 5th time now because of this. Love this kinda content! Keep up the awesome work!
Very cool build you guys did, and seeing it start to finish over just a few weeks made it that much better!
Love the build.
Best part of this build is that you can tweak and tinker with all sorts of little details until every inch of it has been modified and painted.
Fantastic build Jay! Super fun to watch you enjoy the process.
Enjoyed the series! Lots of skillz put into this project - from planning the concept to cutting holes to 3D printing to airbrushing to video editing an entertaining documentary. That montage was beautiful👌 good job team JTC!
Beautiful project.... DONE!!!
Well done! Love the look of this build.
Excellent work guys. Super Build!!
That is gorgeous! Very, very well done, I love it!
As a fan of The Expanse....great build. Absolutely love it.
Definitely amazed to see something so custom where the case is the artwork instead of the components being the artwork behind the case glass!!!
Love the show Jay. I watched every episode of the expanse.
Great job 👍🏻
Glad to see everything come together. Looks awsome.
This type of content really is Jay's point of difference. There's only so many videos one can watch across the different content creators saying "Hey look I built a 13900K / 4090 " Ultimately they're all the same in the end. This content is truly different.
Great video series, enjoyed the different slant this had with modeling, 3D printing, airbrush work. More like this in the future would be very welcome content, nice one, thank you.
So cool hearing the teamwork that went into the design of the mod! Looks really cool, good job
Fully understand the joy of bringing all (or at least most) of your skills to project. Is why I love being a general contractor. Little bit of everything, all rolled into one, to quote Meredith Brooks.
That's just awesome, Well done, love this kind of stuff.
Great job guys, looks fantastic.
Well done, this may be one of my favorite case mods yet. Keep them coming please.
Fantastic case Jay. Very cool
Really nice build! The damage effect with the fire looks fantastic, really top notch job guys!
Amazing work Jay. Did it in really quick time. Kudos !
That is just stunning. Love it
Well done. Looks amazing
I love the details that you guys have put into this build. Being and 80's kid, All I can see is s robot from the movie " Batteries Not Included" LOVE IT!!!
watching this from start to finish was really amazing and incredibly inspiring!
As a huge Expanse geek, I freaking LOVE it!!! Beltalowdaaaaa!
While I wouldn't put it on my desk (I like a Minimalist setup without distraction).... This is unreal!! You really did bring the look of the Rocinante to a PC case! From the ship metal to the look of propulsion boosters.... Respect, I loved that show 🥹
These series are always so much fun and easily my favorite of yours, next to your vlog style watercooling vids.
This is awesome! I hope you do more projects like this in the future.
awesome!! Love the Expanse, great build!!
Very well done. It looks amazing.
This project was amazing! Especially the frequency of updates and progress on it!!
Love watching you do case mods, both ethical and practical
This is looking great, love to see the process on what you all did.
These kinds of projects give me some inspiration for cosplay ideas
also a tip: if you use a self levelling epoxy like XTC3D you can smooth out print layers rather quickly.
You will loose some details because the epoxy will fill it, but when using this on pieces that dont need too much detail it is great.
you can also add colours to the epoxy and give your part a base colour or give it some metallic look so if you do some "damage" to the paint it will show that
Very nice modelling and air brushing! Well done guys!
Looks amazing Jay great job!
Just an amazing build. Awesome job, Jay.
loved this a lot jay more of this please 🙌
This PC is just beautiful!!!
Great work Jay. Thank you for the videos!
Loved it, thanks Jay & the team!
Great job and attention to detail
This is just really cool! Love the look. Great job
Jay, youve got a great team to motivate you and support you with skills to make your vision come to life. I think the team concept really came through in this video.
Turned out awesome great job guys..
Absolutely LOVE these custom Builds Jay! Great job- it looks AMAZING. More vids like these plz!
You all killed it!!! Great job. I love it.
HOLY CRAP, JAY!!!! THAT IS FANTASTIC!!!!! I AM TOTALLY JEALOUS! What an amazing job, man! Congratz to you and your team for a great case mod.
Dope 😮
Light diffusing "flame" fan grills would be cool.
So cool, love your custom modded builds so much!
