This looks like something you can put in a bookshelf near a plant
Yes good idea 😮👍
With a nice vintage stereo, in a room with nice leather couches, lush fabrics, whole art deco decor.
Plant = American Republican voter.
Perfect for Noctua fans.
I love it
"The best thing about green is that it's a color"
No truer words had been spoken in PC enthusiast space before😮
I mean, to be fair, most other cases are either white or black. And those are not colors.
It's not RGB though
Fractal is absolutely killing it with these new designs. 🔥
fractal is rapidly becoming my favorite case company. they have nas cases, regular cases, and smol cases, what more could a man want?
Yeah, got a North in late december, and it's fantastic. It's a piece of furniture and not an RGB spaceship for teens.
I have the north and somehow I am still looking for a way to justify another fractal case. That says something.
price is unfortunately based on lack of competition in the segment. They just need to undercut Dan case, a challenge only for Apple
I just wish they'd make improved Define 8. Keep the HDD mounting system from 7 but remove the stupid PSU shroud and bring back moduvents from R5 with side fan slot. And make 5.25" bay modular so it can be put either on top or bottom. Thus making it possible to install big rad on top while still having optical drive.
The green with the wood effect on the front looks very stylish.
Definitely agree with you.
very sexy
Fractal is quickly becoming the best case maker out there. The Ridge is amazing, I have the North and I love it, and this Terra is fantastic. Banger after banger. Hope they keep the streak going!
Heck let's not forget the Pop, budget case with 5.25 inch drive bays!
Dont forget the torrent... I have the Torrent Nano in white with RGB and I adore it
Becoming? Is. Was.
It always was. The Define series.
Fractal was killing it with the Node 304 more than a decade ago, and it's still one of the best mini ITX cases in existence. It won't fit a 4090, it's not the smallest, but it'll fit a 2 slot GPU and a 140mm exhaust and even a full sized PSU if your GPU is short enough, along with at least 4-6 drives, a full height CPU cooler, and has mesh intakes that keeps the dust out. And built like a tank. With room to tuck cables. The main benefit though is it's wider than it is tall, so no chance of accidentally knocking it over. It's also one of the best minimalistic cases, that can just sit on a desk and not offend the eye. It's a design you don't get bored of because of how neutral it is, so it doesn't suffer from changing trends. And the top of the case can still be used as desk space. You can put it right on the back corner edge of a desk and not have to worry about it being knocked off, which allows better use of the rest of the desk space. The only downside today is that GPU's have gotten soo big, you're not putting anything bigger than a 4070 in it. I've been running my CPU's max overclocked on air 24/7. Basically it's a case for if you don't want to compromise on heatsink size or cooling or drive space and have all the benefits of a full sized tower in a smaller package. And it's also a pretty silent case, the case itself dampens noise because it's not full of slits everywhere, so silent fans are even more silent. Even a 140mm AIO cooler would be more silent than normal. You'll still get dust build up on fans over time, but pretty much nowhere else, so once in a while you just clean the meshes and wipe down the fans and blow a bit of air here and there to get the dust out. Much easier to clean than other cases. No dust caking up on motherboard components.
I've never been even slightly interested in small form factor builds but the jade green is getting my engine revved.
I hope they release the Fractal North (or North 2) in Jade Green!
Dig that green, love what Fractal is doing with their cases aesthetically. Clean.
This looks great. I built my first PC in the Fractal Ridge a few months ago and now I'm a huge Fractal fan. They made it so easy to build in and the manual was spot on. Also the Ridge is my baby and dream PC, keeping it for hopefully 10+ years.
That looks so good! The case and the card go perfect together
More Adam, please and thank you.
Small form factors are getting so interesting.
That 6800 xt with this green/olive case was a fantastic choice; absolutely gorgeous
6900 ;-)
"I trust nothing, I hate this world" 100% fan of Adam content bring us more
Agree, I want Adam so bad
Love that they made even there power button green. Looks so sharp, and supportingly compliments the dark wood.
That is a smart looking case! Fractal on point as usual 👏
I've had the Fractal Node 202 for 6 years now. Absolutely loved that case. This looks fantastic
Dont let Linus hold that..
Walt
You can use an ID-Cooling IS-47-XT, Apenfohn Black Ridge, or Thermalright AXP90-X47 in max GPU mode assuming your motherboard and RAM are compatible. They should provide better cooling vs an L9a/L9i and the ID-Cooling and Thermalright are cheaper as well.
Hi I'm planning to buy a Terra but is it possible to fit in an AIO?
@@jennenicole9014 Only if you sacrifice the GPU.
You could probably find that thin filter screening in sheets and cut out your own filters. Wouldn't initially be removable and easy to clean, but it might help. And if you can find it in black, that would look sick as an underlay on the green.
I love SFF. My first case evolved from tv-pc to my CAD daily with 32GB of ram, ryzen 5600 etc :D working on update to some modern GPU :)
Its basically a less expensive and more mass market version of the Formd T1, but without the options for a 240mm AIO radiator or dual fan exhaust on the top.
I do like how inexpensive and accessible the Fractal Design is, but if one is willing to drop the extra cash and maybe wait on availability then there's no doubt in my mind that the T1 is the better case. The T1 has insanely good thermal design for something just under 10L.
14:35 Fractal has foam fan duct kit for this CPU cooler, you can stack them against the outer wall, so it pulls only cold air from outside. No need for another case fan
Newegg finally got the black one back in stock today and I ordered it. Its such a good looking case. I'm swapping my 2nd pc with a 12600k+4070 Founders Edition and putting it in this case. Ill probably put a couple thin fans on the bottom to help cool my FE 4070. Gonna look so good with My Magnus Pro XL desk. I can't wait
Gullwing doors being associated with Tesla makes one wish they could go back to the future.
I love the console form factor but this case looks so beautiful, i might convert
Why convert when you can have both, though it's not the best nor the worst time to build a PC.
Loving what they are doing lately. Still rocking my first SFF build with Node 202.
Almost went with a Node 202 for my first PC, but Fractal could not keep it in stock.
I just got this case last week and I did try the same cooler he used in this video but the tempts were really bad even with a 5600x. I swapped it out today for the Noctua NH-L9x65 and things are much better.
One other thing, I almost never use the badges or stickers that come with my computer components, but I could not help putting the brown Noctua owl badge that came with the cooler. Goes really well with the green and wood accents.
i think a 7600 or 7700 65w cpu would be a better choise for this form factor in therms of temps. even with a 5600x limited to 65 watt you dont loose performance ( somthing in the 2% range )
@@georgwarhead2801 the 5600x is 65w though? Everything you just mentioned has the same power limit of around 87w ppt
@@rowie3366 sry. I had in my mind,that the 5600x haf a 95 watt tdp,where the 7600 and 7700 only have a 65 watt tdp,my bad
@@georgwarhead2801 If it had been a fully new build, I probably would have gone with that, but the 5600x was a part I already had on hand.
Hi I'm planning to buy a Terra but is it possible to fit in an AIO?
i really like this case... i want it !
its gorgeous, and the green and wood is sooo aesthetically pleasing... i may have to build in this now lol.
I bet it'll look amazing in beige!
fractal does not disapoint, that is one nice looking case.
Can we get some propper temperature comparisons between this and normal PC cases? Im always interested in these but how much will they hurt performance when gaming long session or are they louder?
Higher power delivery on the front panel USB-C would either require a new standard to be implemented on motherboards, a daughter card (not likely on this form factor) or some kind of box with cables to both the front connector and the power supply.
It would be cool if you could add some feet on the cpu panel side. So it could lay over like a console and you could mount the bottom fans on the outside or whatever
I got my Terra on Thur and so far I am really liking the case. Was not expecting something like this from Fractal, if I didn't know who made it I would think it was a boutique SFF case. When you were first trying to remove the side panels I was like STOP and please read the manual.
I kinda want this for my living room PC; that green and wood would go great with my decor
No joke, I currently have a Fractal Ridge "console" in the living room, a Fractal North as my work+gaming PC and just ordered a Fractal Terra for my stepdaughter and will help her build her second PC in it. By the way, I used the walnut CPU block and water cooling fittings from EKWB in the North because I f*cking love wood accents.
I love there is a new SFF contender in 2023 finally! I was worried that giant GPU's were the death knell for SFF but thank you for highlighting this awesome case.
Absolutely beautiful!
that green one is beautiful and I want it on my shelf near my monstera
I just built my girlfriend’s PC a few days ago in this case. I found it to be more air cooling focused. The adjustable spine really is innovative and allowed me to fit a Noctua NH-L12 ghost, which is very impressive.
Surprised you were even able to get it a couple days ago, it was announced like a week ago! Did you need the Ghost version because of RAM height? Do you think you could have done the non-ghost NH-L12S if you got short-height RAM sticks?
@@dtemp132 Yeah if you had low-profile RAM you could use the standard NH-L12S without issue. If you have anything taller or any RGB you'd need to use the ghost.
The meshify in its various guises is the best case
I really hope they do more colors for this little guy. I'd like something very similar to the green, but with an orange hue instead.
I'll probably buy the green but if they had an indigo version...
Oh wow you just unboxed the case it looks to have incredible air flow wich is a staple of fractal cases
The green one looks like a kitchen appliance...I love it.
It's SO nice 100% building in this next
That green is so god damn good looking.
That color is just perfect
for the dust , 3m adhesive magnetic strips on the internal and buy some mesh
Very interesting case!
This would look great with my wooden wrist rest and guitars. I may need to upgrade from my metalicgear case
Not as pretty, but try the a4 h20. It's about 11L (so slightly larger than the terra), but has a 240mm rad spot and triple slot card space.
Love that Fractal has cases for both RGB nerds and wood-accent/pastel color geeks. Wish more case manufacturers would take a cue from them.
Today, I learned that GREEN is a COLOR
Subscribed 👌🏻
Nice case!
Finally they are making FormD T1 for mass production.
looks great. but that gap behind is a kind of a deal breaker for others. might become an entry point for pests / insects / small mice.
Nice video, the only thing I have to add: Gullwing doors is not a Tesla feature, it was first on the Mercedes Benz 300 SL in 1952 and have been used by various manufacturers since
wish that companys would consider watercooling way more in cases like this. Only one i got so far is my Streacom DA6. 3090 and 5800x with a 2x 240 Rad combo.
There are some watercooling solutions for your request:
czcams.com/video/17w6nz7aVTA/video.html
Fractal Terra's layout is copied from the model FormD T1 (wich is even a bit smaller), FormD ''invented'' this kind of case. Here you see a youtuber who had built a watercooling system in such a little FormD T1. The same should be possible for fractal terra
Gorgeous case. If it had been like 1 week earlier, I'd have built in it.
Its so refreshing to see another person other than linus to build the PC…
Imma get this when I do my next build. Thinking a 8800x3d whatever gpu
i absolutely love the shade of green
It would be nice if they had some dust filters for those vent.
Finally some living room console size itx cases
Awesome design!
Fractal is the only mainstream company I’d buy from. Still rocking my SSUPD meshlicious.
Those down swinging side panels allow for an easy hack job to fit a wider GPU and bigger CPU cooler for a cool frankestein case.
i love these small built pc because i plan on joining the service and being stuck in a small dorm size room something this small would be amazing
Look into the Dan a4 h20. 3 slot gpu support, 240mm rad support for cpu cooling. If you want something premium check out the Formd t1.
@2:56 Actually "Gull-wing Door" was initially pioneered and used by Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, first as a race car in 1952 (W194), and then as a production sports car in 1954.
This is the kind of chassis I'd use for my living room pc for VR and whatnot.
I would like to see custom loop in this case
the lack of dust filters the only reason i haven't bought one of these cases, yes you can buy separately, but i can also buy a case where the dust filters are included
I don't think that fan was meant to cool a 5800x3D 😅 Might have wanted to go for the Noctua NH-L12S
I might wind up transplanting my mini ITX machine over to this case from my Silverstone Raven
Can you use a noctua mounting silicon plug on the side panels/top panel for fans?
Nice case, honestly hope they make a bit larger case that can hold a 280 AIO up top. Sticking to my NR200P Max for now.
Have you looked into Dan A4 H2O?
I'd like a small case like that but the problem is mobos by itself dont have enough USB ports and in bigger cases you just drop in a pcie USB card, here you can't, and external USB hubs are almost always crap and cause issues.
Good grief, this year has a lot of really awesome boutique styled cases that inspire build ideas. Ive never wanted SFF but that has changed now.
reminds me of a sliger case sm someting, It was the first sff case I bought, then got scared of how small it actually was and never built in it lol
The L12S fits with a 2.5 slot GPU. NICE!
I know this might be too late, but the SSUPD never made it to LTT channels despite being probably the best designed SFF case. 14L and only slightly more expensive than 18L NR200
So it’s a modified Dan case. Great job fractal.
Doesn’t a dust filter not take up enough room to justify leaving it out?
Not that hard to DIY it if you're that worried about it
@@TikusTakusen thats the 'premium' approach after all
You can debate how useful they are. You'll have to clean your hardware anyway, so why not have better thermals
That is one gorgeous little PC
I was actually looking at getting the north case and painting it that jade color. If fractal wants to save me the trouble and do that for me...
Get a Dancase A4h2O instead, that allows for a liquid cooler. It even fits a MSI Ventus RTX 4090. If you want a really high end SFF PC that case is awesome!
3:07, My new fav Giff lol
would love to see a video on the new Dan Case C4 SFX :) and more cases need a red color option
I believe you could but the IS-55 if you switch the ram with low profile ones as the Ripjaws
I wanna upgrade to this from my current mini itx
Wow... A case that actually looks good.
Oooh 👀 I do like the green one actually, and Fractal count me in.
This is lovely.
Whenever someone said gullwing, the first thing that comes to mind for me is Mercedes not Tesla
Thats cool
Looking towards rhis!! I think its my next case
Press f to pay respects to the FormD T1 not being mentioned anywhere except optimum tech's review.
Keep going Fractal!
Those videos always make me remember why i have a big tower
Interesting design. High price for the size but it does have a lot going for it
This case would make a nice little SSD NAS. No GPU necessary - side fan mount vindicated.
