    This was awesome Lance and thanks so much for posting. I was amazed that the cover basically comes straight up and off (albeit carefully) once the PTO lever/control housing is removed as well.
    I have a bad leak coming out underneath the right gear shift Boot on a 1640 during hot weather and running heavy PTO equipment so your video is very much appreciated. Cheers.

    Working on a 1973 John Deere 2030 myself. I’ve got to tackle a major hydraulic leak at the base of the steering wheel. It’s going to be a pain, but doable. Looking forward to watching the rest of the repairs to your 2030. They’re great tractors. Thanks for doing the videos.

    I have a feeling i will be binge watching your videos. You know your stuff and are a good teacher. I've got a 2020 with no brakes and the hydraulics chatter and sometimes stop when using the loader. It's new to me and doesn't appear to have been maintenanced regularly. I'm hoping it's just clogged filters from brake parts.

    Would love to get some tractor advice from you. I have a 2030 that has stopped moving, after sitting out under open sky for a week. Hydraulics work well. Back PTO engages. but it just won't move once put in gear. not grinding, at least i feel no griding sounds or vibrations. Clutch pedal goes in well. I mean I'm able to engage the back PTO no problem. Wheels are not locked, cuz we tried towing it and it rolls free.

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  Před měsícem

      I had one that sheared the crown wheel rivets off so you could look in the rear oil filler to see if the crownwheel is moving, we fixed it in the field with trailer wheel studs. You may have torn the centre out of the clutch plate possibly.

      Use small snap ring pliers or feed it in as a spiral.

    I separated my 2040, open center hydraulic series, between the clutch and transmission and your videos are very helpful. I have the manual and to find the information about the 2 hidden bolts under the shifter plate takes careful reading. I’m replacing the transmission pump. The pump gears were destroyed. Have you came across in your repairs?

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  Před 2 lety

      Yes it is a common thing with the older tractors especially if the oil has been dirty.

    hi, thank you for very good videos it helps a lot to repear my john deere 2140. But I have one question so mayby you know what happen. After trakctor spliting and changing transmition pump I put back everything in place, but after a test drive my gears starts swich out off possition and traktor stops. With gear box I don't do anything. What can be wrong?

    Hi lance, my John deere 2030 has been sitting only a couple of months now it's clutch is literally locked on for some reason. I'm going to try drive it around and hit the brakes hoping it will free up again. Maybe clutch adjustment might need attention ?
    Thank you

      They get sticky in humid weather, Tie the pedal down and get in a high gear if possible and bang the brakes on a few times and see if it comes loose. If not it is a split but they often do come free.

    I am interested in your up and coming videos for this tractor split because I may have to do the same split on my 2130. I am having a hydraulic issue on my tractor and finding many culprits to the shuddering hydraulics and pump chatter: fluid leaking past the loader control valve, power steering leak (still need to do, thanks for that video), SCV valve leaking oil into the rockshaft housing. I have checked and eliminated the other possible issues like the bypass valve(again thanks for that vid), the screen behind the housing drain plug, resealed the rockshaft valves and the loader is ported correctly to the filter housing. I just had my shift cover off and was testing the oil supply pipes with compressed air to find a leak. The large supply pipe closest to the engine was not holding pressure and I could hear air blowing lower down in the case I think this may also be a problem. Could you detail testing these pipes a bit? Thanks I really need this tractor fixed, it's the middle of hay season here in Canada and I am down on my main bailing tractor... I still have my faithful David Brown/Case 996 going though.

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  Před 4 lety

      If SCv is leaking in to the rockshaft housing the valve is crook as on a closed center system there should be nothing with everything closed.

    • @FarmBossSaws
      @FarmBossSaws Před 4 lety

      @@BundyBearsShed Yeah I have the valve capped at the SCV line in at the moment and I also capped the power steering line but the hydraulics were still acting up.
      Do you think its worth trying to rebuild my SCV valves or should I just get an aftermarket spool valve? Seems like the SCV parts are more expensive as just buying a new spool.

      Check press with PTO engaged and see if there is a difference. You might have a high pressure leak that is not letting the front pump catch up so blank off the steering and look in the trans filler and see if there appears to be leakage in there.
