    Fantastic job of explaining how, where, when, way and if you do ... I learned a few things here even though I don't own any JD tractors :)

      @@BundyBearsShed Ha Ha, I would but I'm Caterpillar poor now. I went and looked at CraigsList one day and three 955 Traxcavators followed me home; I admit I did have an old can of 30w in my back pocket.

    I have a 3130 my pto stopped working, I've checked the braking and clutching pressures on the valve body and pressures are ok, where do you think I should check, it was working then suddenly stopped while I was slashing

      Pop the back plate off as I have seen then snap the big gear inside that is held in with the big circlip, it can be welded back together again.

    Those packings in the split are good for failing and loosing oil pressure internally if my memory serves me right, I think the hi low might of played up when that happened.. or something like that 🤪

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes but the main cause seems to be the hook rings in the older tractors with the occasional split pipe.

    Would this stuff be similar if not the same as a 1980 2640
    And if so my tractor will lose all pressure after using it for about 20 minutes power steering and all. I took the cap off the holding tank above the oil cooler and at idle it is not filling it completely I have checked filters all are clean. I’m going to put a pressure gauge at the oil cooler too see if I have pressure. Is it possible my transmission pump has gone bad?
    Sorry for the long comment I hope you se this. Thanks lad

      Yours would be more like the JD1640 I did. There is a play list on it.

    Hello sir, or around here I should call you uncle. We bought a 3130 for a loader tractor just to move bales about. Its steering works fine but is very loose and swervy on the road. All the pinions are good the only wear I can see is in the steering arm on the 4 spline shaft. Is that enough to cause all the slop? Also the hi lo lever is completely removed and the tractor now only has 6 gears, is there a common reason people would do that? Maybe something broke thats too expensive to fix? I hope you are doing well and sorry for the assay of a comment

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  Před 3 lety

      The 4 spline pitman arm will cause slop for sure especially on a loader. I have seen many Araldited on as it can be removed again with heat but fix any leaking seals first. With the Hi/lo the dash lever might not be there but look at the shift cover and if the lever is there give it a try then you will know. They can be expensive to fix.

      @@BundyBearsShed The leaky seals is that on the stearing system itself or any seals in general? The hi lo lever is on the gearbox cover but it does not seem to want to move. I am a little wary of breaking something by forcing it. Thank you

    Hello. After a long time, I found a useful channel related to John deet tractor. The problem I have is with the tractor hydraulic system. So that when the hydraulic oil is cold, the pump is able to lift objects with sufficient power and speed. However, when the oil heats up (after working for a while), the pump loses its capacity and must be done with a lot of gassing. Another point is that the hydraulic oil filter is compressed and crumpled immediately after using the pump. so i had to remove the filter!!! (several times This has happened. If the oil is completely clean) !!! Is there a problem with the front pump? (Newly repaired) or a problem with the under-seat system?) jd 2040 tnx.

      @BundyBearsShed  Před 3 lety

      For the filter to collapse the filter bypass valve must be stuck as that is its job. I would repair that first/

    Hi Lance - will you be painting this tractor once you have completed the rebuild?

    • @BundyBearsShed

      No it has a nice old patina and I use it for my slashing so Im not planning on it.

    Basically when the PTO is off it lose all hydraulic power. Steering bucket brakes etc.
    If I turn PTO on ,I get hydraulic power and steering,not for long time...if I stop and start the engine with PTO engaged I have hydraulic power after 1 or 2 minutes...
    Where is the problem?split the tractor?

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  Před 2 lety

      Split it and look at the PTO brake lines, they are steel and have been known to split.

      Not too bad, mid 20s deg C here. Im finding wearing new boots helps my knee and I get less pain so I bought a shed set and a work set. $200 per set but I think there is a benefit.

    Hello. I have a jd 3350 with engine code 6359 D 822992. Can I mount a turbo on a 6359 TL engine? I know that on some engines it differs d rods. How can I find out what connecting rods I have? possible with a camera? possible from the code?

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  Před 2 lety

      To check rods drop the sump, there were turbos fitted to some John Deere called it a high altitude kit.
