I'm a motovlogger from Phoenix, Arizona! I've been riding motorcycles since 2015. My first motorcycle I learned how to ride on was a Suzuki GS500F. After taking a motorcycle safety course and finally gaining some confidence on the streets, I decided to purchase my second motorcycle. A Honda CBR600RR. I still own that motorcycle to this day! After some time passed I decided to add another motorcycle to the family. So I purchased a Yamaha FZ-07. That's another bike I still have to this day! Again, more time passed and guess what I did. I purchased my final bike, as of now. A Honda Grom!

I was following an older guy in a 2 lane. I have no reason to run, my bike is legit. I don’t have mirrors on my bike, he saw a cop coming before me from behind and took off. The cop signaled for me to get over but I put my hand up like 🤷♂️ and rode on calmly. Watched a guy on bike take off like this last week, difference was the guy was alone at a stop light and his bike wouldn't trigger the light. A cop pulled up behind him, double checked the coast was clear for him to go, and then told him to just go through the red so that traffic could resume progress.

In Australia you legally have to help cops with investigations if you know anything. Otherwise you’re impeding an investigation. It’s contrary to public interest. It’s in the public interest to get criminals off the road who may cause accidents or who are permitted to be driving. So by failing to assist in an investigation your actions are against public interest and safety.
You don’t have to answer their questions, but you must obey a traffic stop no matter what because it’s a lawful order and you will catch charges if you run instead of pulling over. Also, the group was already being pulled over before the video started

Being detained is what happens when you fail to abide by that lawful order.
Being arrested is what happens when you fail abide to being detained. You can object to the reason for being detained though, but please do it AFTER the arrest. Don't give another reason for them to arrest you (resisting/obstructing).
You can not object to being stopped/pulled over.

Operating a motorized vehicle requires the correct permit and often the correct form of insurance.
The lawful order of providing these is mandatory to follow.
As is identifying yourself (because the driver ID and policies have to belong to you, the driver), and that the police have to be sure that you are who you claim to be.
Refusing to provide them will get you detained until able to do so, or arrested until they can get the information.
It's rather simple really.

Don't argue that on the street. Being pulled over "for no reason" isn't a thing until AFTER you pull over and are told why you were...at which point, stop talking (whether or not you did anything) and take notes or pics/video. After you're released, get a civil rights lawyer and go for the big bucks.
