The cars were setup so the top one would fold on impact prolonging the crash. The suspension on the bottom vehicles rebounded and absorbed impact. They put old tires underneath to absorb more impact. They released the car with front down which generally has the best performance in crashes. Removed the airbags so you don’t get your Legs blown back. They took a lot of time designing this stunt.
