- House Velaryon will play a major part in the House of the Dragon prequel of
Game of Thrones. Corlys Velaryon aka the Sea Snake should be a character
that'll leave a big impression.

It's so typical of RR Martin to give a character a legendary life and then have him die from falling down a staircase lol
its kinda a symbolic though of the fall of house Velaryon by the time he died.
That's actually similar to Humayun in the beginning of Mughal dynasty
I Honestly wish they were willing to Keep the Iconic Turquoise Color that is associated with House Velaryon in the show like it is in the books.
The colors help distinguish Faction Loyalty and allegiance just by the symbols on the breastplate.
So how does turquoise so faction loyalty 🤔
Why would they be bothered to keep the canon when they are race swapping and gender bending the crap out of this SJW disaster
I think they will, at least from what I glimpsed as the banners in the house of dragons trailer
They are??

The ship Corleys saw was The Sunchaser Captained by Alys Westhill who stole three dragon eggs and sold them so she could build The Sunchaser and voyage to see what laid West. She actually talked two grandsons on the Lord of The Hightower to go with her.
Are you referring to Elissa Farman? I have no idea who the character you're describing is, but I know that Elissa was the one who did all that.
Edit: nevermind that was a alias she used.
Who is Alys Westhill? That's Elissa Farman
@@allanaalberto9730 Alys Westhill's was Elissa Farman's pseudonym. She couldn't go by her real name after stealing the dragon eggs from Rhaena Targaryen.
I always wondered why they omitted such a powerful house from game of thrones. You would think Daenerys would have called upon them when she landed on dragonstone, driftmark is very close by and they are technically family. It's just weird.
It’s only weird if you forget Dumb and dumber are hacks
I think they're significantly less powerful by got. And the current lord is a little boy. Tbh I think It’s just a necessary decision to cut a lot of smaller houses. The showrunners barely managed a coherent story with the main houses after all

It's rather annoying that we never saw any real naval prowess in the first season of HotD. I know it took us awhile to see the Greyjoys in GoT, but I did expect some of Corlys's ability in the battles with the Triarchy.
I can't wait for them to cast Dalton Greyjoy. That should be exciting.
Hopefully he becomes a fan favorite, because the sea snake prequel prequel would be extremely interesting and open up alot more of the fantastical parts of the world to the mainstream audience
I like his dark skin, it gives him a badass pirate look. It’s also works in a contexts of the show as his family members are easy to identify and even translates the whole bastard art really well. This cast also allows new opportunities to several new black actors which Hollywood lacks.
I like it too.
It's funny that the Velaryons say they have mingled with the Targaryens for centuries only to have black skin

So enjoying your deep historytelling of this world in your videos. You are my new favorite of the best channels on House of Dragon, GoT and whatever else lies ahead. You have sold me on Corlys, and now I am worried the depth of his story is being under-told in House of Dragon. Apparently a show called "The Sea Snake" is in early development by HBO
Being a captain may not be as cool as a dragon rider, but when you command a fleet of 9 massive ships you designed yourself... Pretty cool. Corlys is cooler than most dragon riders because of what he did.
The seas snake should have his own series with the 9 voyages

Didn’t know too much about this character, but because of your content and information I think he’ll be my favorite characters or one of them. As far as him being black as long as they keep to the history of him and his family and keep to his story I’m all right with it. Maybe throw in some purple contacts for his eyes. but they CANT keep to the history because of his race. they should have made this actor a different character. NOBODY cares about "poc's" being in GoT, theres many and more in the books, but you cant have Valyrians, described as "pale skinned, with silvery-gold hair, and purple eyes" portrayed by dark skinned actors, particularly when the plotline involves accusations of infidelity and parentage in that bloodline.

only Melisandre is alive both in HOTD and GOT
Aemon might be in it as well but rather close to the very end as a newborn
House Velaryon really drifted from the Iron Throne after the Dance of Dragons
Corleys becoming black ruins continuity. The Velaryons and Targaryons have been mixing the families for generations, the Barathions have also married Velaryons in the past a few times. This brown washing would have many complications. There would be a lot more black people in Westeros.
They planned to make all white but looking at the actors they thought fucking hell they're too many white sliver heads running around. I can see why they changed it. You don't want confuse the casual viewers. They might as well added the Witcher in there.

Pretty sure Corlys Velaryon wasn't black in the source material
In real life, the prevalence of people born with white hair by population is highest among people of African descent, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. So in the real world, it would be more logical if the dragon riders were primarily dark skinned to begin with. Either way, the books don't really mention skin color so the only reason why people complain about Coryls Velaryon being Black is because of racism, plain and simple. Unfortunately for bigots, they don't get to decide who plays these roles, let them cry and be helpless to do anything about it because the show will go on regardless of their racism.
He wasn't but it is what it is
@@pedrofernandes2466 After watching House of the Dragon I've actually enjoyed the performance of the actor playing Corlys Velaryon. It works. However, the wigs his children were wearing in episodes 1 and 2 were god awful.
very interesting man hope it translates onto the show
So, In House of the Dragon Corlys Velaryon is played by a black actor, which to preface I have no problem with them changing the characters race, but I do worry about some of the unintended consequences this could have on the cannon. And it could also lead to some actors on the show being cancelled. Anyway… here is a breakdown of the early Targaryens race. (This is made with the assumption that the Velaryons are all black which I think is what the show is going for)
Aegon I is half Velaryon, making him 1/2 black. His son Aenys I would also be half black (due to the fact that Queen Rhaynes would also be 1/2 black) Aenys married a Velaryon, meaning his son Jaehaerys I would be 3/4 black, Jaehaerys I married his sister Alysanne. This would make their son Baelon 3/4 black, and his sons Viserys I and Daemon would both be 3/4 black. A brief aside, in the show Daemon will be portrayed by Matt Smith who is white, this could cause some problems. Anyway, Viserys’ kids (all by white mothers) Rhaynera, Aegon, Aemond, and Daeron will all be appearing in the show and they are played by white actors despite the fact that these characters are 3/8 black according to the show’s lore.
Exactly.
But even if the show itself is decent: It will always end in season 8 and female dragon Hitler.
Aye and their hair quality too
Your theory doesn't make sense for their world. Its a fantasy world and genes dont work the same way they do in ours. Also being part black doesn't mean someone will look the part. I have a friend who is a quarter black and it doesnt show, at all. Also the concept of being part anything doesnt matter in their world. The family name is more important. This is most obviously displayed by joffrey, who is referred to as a baratheon even though he clearly looks nothing like one. In our world this matter, as in slave times even being part black means you were still seen as subhuman, and in their world the concept doesnt apply and your skin color doesnt have much at all to do with your treatment, your family name, high or low birth, and wealth do. Your applying thinking from our own world just because you visually see black people in a show that has flying dragons, manticores, magic, and other things that should be much stranger than just a persons skin. No one is getting canceled for fucks sake.
@@chillazaraka no ,ur theory is trash
@@chillazaraka my theory has nothing to do with their treatment in universe, I’m simply displaying the consequences of the decision and the effects it has on the characters.
Honestly, I'm not sold on the casting of Corlys (as is the case with Rhaenyra), but my only hope is that they make him work in the show. Only the books are canon, but this has the potential to be a great show.
Yeah why did they cast a black dude, getting sick of this forced diversity
@@MegaNikos44 yeah, diversity this, diversity that but also noone is pointig out how Rhaenyra isn't basically a landwhale
The issue is they're forcing the black casting as woke points for this generation. It's ridiculous, very much how in the witcher Netflix series they did the same with multiple characters, resident evil Jill valentine is now black also. It is out of hand and TBH my biggest problem with it personally is it doesn't follow the source material whatsoever, he isn't black in the books so don't do it for the show plain and simple
@@restitvtor6398 funnily enough, it is stated Rhaynera put on more weight in her later years due to a mix of her eating habits and her multiple pregnancies.
@@samuelwolch1302 ikr. She was already really fat at the beginning of the dance, and I don't want the showrunners to make her into some perfect little saviour characters with no flaws, inside and out. I want her to be an accurate depiction of the book character, basically proto-Cersei that is
i feel like an easy fix would be a very recent summer islander parent
It could make sense. The Summer Islands would be of no interest to most Westerosi nobles, but their renowned shipbuilders and sailors would have been of interest to House Velaryon. Corlys's mother is also never named in the books nor is it mentioned where she's from. Corlys's father marrying a noblewoman from the Summer Isles could be worked in without much contradiction
It's five am and I have two exams tomorrow but I need to watch this video
There is literally nothing wrong with having a story where everyone is the same race, and if you say that you disagree, then you must be ok with a story set in sub-Saharan African 800 AD there must be racial diversity in the cast with about 50% white people.
If it makes sense for the story then sure, any other races can be apart of any story, but forcing it in for the sake of it is very bad writing, especially when we are talking about stories that are not set a modern day, open-minded, western city.
That example is different context. No one is saying a story can’t have one type of skin color, but this isn’t a true story, it’s fantasy, not to mention there sailors, so if you can’t imagine a white sailor smashing a black chick or brown chick you have no business reading or watching fantasy. Not to mention they do this all the time when making book to movies, also George, the actual creator of these stories has a contract with HBO to work on this project so if he don’t care no one should. And if you do you should check deep down why it bothers you..
@@thegamerboneless2864 First of all, if you know anything about how George Martin is you'd know that his creative decisions are frequently being ignored and is slowly being pushed out of his own work, so if the studio could just make an executive decision and tell him to screw off, the ending of GOT is a great example. George is just happy that he's getting money, but he's too old to care if they butcher his material any more.
There's also the elephant in the room that making specifically Corlys black makes less sense than almost anyone else, cause there's a sub plot that Corlys might be the father of some of Rhaenyra's children, but if he's black then it would be pretty freakin obvious if he was involved in their conception wouldn't it.
Also, and this is just reality talking here, he's the kind of black that is from a super sunny region like Africa, with no mixing of his genetics whatsoever. If a Velaryon hooked up with a random black chick, (and I don't think that would even be allowed considering how big the Valyrians are about genetics) then he would be heavily mixed, unless all of the Velaryons all changed their race at the same moment. Also if there were black people on that corner of Westeros then the genetic mix up of that region would look at least a bit different considering that the Velaryons are said to have mixed with other noble families aside from the Targaryens. And on top of that, if that were all somehow true then the makeup of the Targaryens of the current story like Dany and Jon would look quite different wouldn't they, as in not as white as snow.
And lastly, I will politely say screw you for trying to paint some sort of internalized racism to my points when you clearly don't have any. I do not take the excuse of "lol its a fantasy so whatever" seriously, especially in a story that use to care about having an extremely consistent world. Do not make excuses for bad writing.
@@zachpulido5972 ok that’s extremely long, which is ok, I just didn’t have time to totally read, I would say that GOT ran out of source material and also George was long gone from GOT I think after the first or second season. As far as the rules they had about genetic mixing I would say this there sailors and rules are meant to be broken, also I’m mixed black, Irish and German, me and my older sister look Spanish, my little brother and sister are twins and she’s blonde hair green eyes, couldn’t tell she has any black in her. My cousin is mixed as well, his father is light skinned green eyes, his mom is Irish, and he is dark with green eyes, so the color of your skin can come out differently when having mixed family, him being dark don’t mean his kids would be dark. I also go back to it’s fantasy it’s not that serious, we’re people act like it’s the end of the world. I also read that George is highly protective of his work, and I doubt he would say he is ok with it if he wasn’t, just like he wasn’t happy with the GOT ending. I didn’t say or imply you are racist, I think that word is being thrown around way to much just cause folks disagree. But I do think people should take a look at why this bothers them, since all of it is a made up story, there not changing facts of a true historical event. I’ll read your reply again see if I missed anything, and give reply if I did later.
@@zachpulido5972 well its there u can watch it or not noone really cares tbh
@@thegamerboneless2864 *sigh* ok. So basically all you have to say is “if I write the story for the writer, anything is possible.” You and moon on dp are doing nothing but making excuses.
I have no idea why you responded without even bothering to read my comment, that’s just bizarre, doesn’t sound very intuitive.
Why would you make a reference to your modern day, racially mixed family when we are talking about Westeros, a nation that is much like medieval Britain where there was not a lot of racial mixing simply due to the fact that there were basically no other races there. And as if the Valerians family was so racially mixed that their kids could come out as any color of the rainbow when all the other families that live in that area, the families that the Valyrions breed with, are all the same race. Also, race is not just in skin color, it is in facial features and height, you want me to believe that none of those traits would have made it into Dany and John? Heck if you look at racially mixed families, even just one ancestor that is a different race to the rest will change their facial structure for the next several generations, and the Targyrians have been breeding with the Valyrions for generations.
No the Valerians would not be cool with their family hooking up with some random person from the other side of the world, cause one, the Valerian culture is supportive of selective breeding so they would have to be very careful who they let in, two the other families of Westeros likely are pretty racist as well so why would they be open to marry their kin to someone who is basically an alien to them.
Also I love when people give a bunch of reasons why they think something makes sense, then end it with “it’s just a fictional story so who cares, why do you care so much aren’t you wasting your time?”
So it’s either something you care about and you are trying to defend the decision, or it’s not important and you’re waiting your own time by your own definition. If your going to make an argument for something, don’t then immediately say that making arguments is meaning less and that you don’t care.
The Targaryens were a lower house of Valyria yet they still had dragons. I imagine House velaryon was even lower than them considering they had NO dragons. Plus they had been in Westeros for longer and considering they work in the sea I don’t doubt that before Aegon decided to take the seven kingdoms they may have mixed with others that didn’t share Valyrian descent. The Targaryens were obsessed with keeping their specific line pure because of the dragons, before the intermarriages the velaryons would have no such worries. The main Valyrian features are the eyes and the hair, their pale skin could be varied between classes, as it was in real history with royals accentuating their pale skin and visible blue veins to differentiate themselves from the tan working class. If he’s in ships for most of his life he ISNT going to be pale, my father works in ships and he’s most definitely not pale. Chill
The targaryens were a manor dragonlord family but they were strong they were part of the 40 ruiling familys in valyria (dragonlords) house valerion wasn't
Just because someone has dark skin doesn't automatically mean they will have big noses and thick lips. Sub Saharan Africans are distinct from North Africans who are more Caucasian in appearance. It's only racist Western leftists who claim all dark skinned people are the same, so we see their uneducated ideas and ignorance in their play screens, while acting smug with righteousness.
THANK YOUUU
People like you need to stop stealing oxygen.
In the dunk and egg novels they do state that while in dorn then prince Aegon V did tan similar to the dornish. Honestly I'm not a big fan of the casting but he is a great actor and he looks absolutely amazing in costume. Even in the novels during the time of the main series cersei lannister has a member of his house as a lover only because he looks like prince rhaegar targaryen, so it's not just once through the books they are described the same as the targaryens it's pretty consistent that this is what they look like. Even house celtigar is described the same and they are in the storm land and seafaring like house velaryon.
You know what sucks? This makes GoT ending even worse. If D&D passed over the reigns after S6 we would've gotten at least 4 more full seasons and very likely House Velaryon.

While the blackwashing isn't certainly a dealbreaker, I am a bit miffed about it. The showrunners are basically saying THEY write the rules on what is an already-established internally-consistent fantasy series.
It's the same feeling I got when GOT started careening off the rails post-S5. Or when Peter Jackson did that stupid elf-dwarf love triangle in the Hobbit. The showmakers don't care about making a faithful adaptation, they just want shock factor & easy morality points.

Agree completely but i couldn't give a crap if he's black regardless, valyrian history could have been set in stone but he min I knew it was Steve toussaint bringing him to life I was adamant that he was going to nail this role regardless of his looks and he has. For me, he is the sea snake now and everytime I imagine corlys in happy to imagine him just as he is in the show.
No it doesn’t
No it doesn’t
You trippin I’m black because Obama said so
Exactly. The Summer Islanders are very dark, black skinned. And they're sea traders. It's perfectly natural for his mother to be from the same land. And in the books, discussing skin color isn't really tainted by negative feelings or prejudice. It's just a descriptive feature. When I first saw Corlys in the show, I just thought, oh yeah, I guess that's entirely possible. And it's so cool to see with the silver hair. His children are absolutely gorgeous, and possibly the most decent and strong-willed characters in the show. Corlys became my favorite very quickly.
My absolute favorite character from Fire and Blood.
For some reason i dig the casting of the velaryons, for some reasonthey look more magical thanthe targaryens
Nahhhh nah dude what are you smoking ??
sounds like him and oberyn may have gotten along
I don't care if they're white or not, the writing and the performance are the things that matters, salladhor saan are different in the books and show, but I didn't bitch about it coz the performance was good, and he wasn't a main character.
Next up: How Corlys Velaryon pulled a reverse Michael Jackson.
This might be head cannon but what if Corlys claimed/fled from the cannibal when he visited assahi. I’m kinda confused on how to how they survived all the terrible shit there
Wow they really nailed the screen character adaptation!! I love being reminded that Whites aren’t allowed to have their own culture with any sort of exclusivity
Regarding the issue of race I would like to remind people that Martin originally wanted to write them as black people with white hair and purple eyes. Is it so far fetched the the Velaryon's now represent what he initially wanted and now gets to see in a different form?
Martin had that idea while shitting on a toilet but he didnt go with it. They made them white, pale, with silver hair. Stop crying and trying to dig, they are no black and never were
yes, cuz martin didnt write them as he ''originally intendet'' obviously, they just change shit just to change it. its the same as what d&d did and look where that ended
@@whocares1839 if Martin wanted them to be black then leave it y’all so sensitive about it
“Wanted” He wrote in the book they are pale skinned with silver hair
@@lorddaquanofhouserastafari4177 I have no clue of that but he did state that he wanted the velaryons to be black
Geographically it doesn’t make sense for people from Valyria to have pale skin as it is in the books so I mean idk if it’s so much of a problem for the show to make the valerions to be black. I mean if they were pale skinned it would be more accurate to the book but them being darker makes more sense like geographically. So what I’m trying to say is it’s fantasy and so it doesn’t really matter who is what color in either a book or a movie, like daario was meant to have purple hair and he doesn’t in the show, like yk it don’t matter. And this way dark skinned people can have characters in got that are more representative to them so I think it’s all good as long as the characters are portrayed well and written well
FACTS
The show is going to be riddled with woke politics. It's going to tank harder than GOT season 8.

Hes so Fucking powerful he cam change his race
What about all of the other GOT/HOTD characters that don’t fit their description in the books?
Heres a interesting thing i found yall could consider, Ryan Condal himself explained the change, saying:
" long ago when he was conceiving of this world, Martin himself had considered the idea of making Velaryons a race of Black people with silver hair that essentially came from the other side of the ocean and conquered Westeros. That's a fascinating idea and that always really stuck with me because it's such a stark image. I just thought, 'Well, why couldn't we do a version of that now?'"
Yeah just like JK Rowling had imagined Hermione to be black and a gay Dumbledore.
GRRM has admitted himself that he's based Targaryens are Tolkien's elves
How Corlys Valaryon became the black Snake?
Corlys big black snake thats kinda funny i like it.
Reposting the same irrational, ignorant and in many ways racist comment of yours does nothing to prove any point whatsoever
Honestly as far as the casting.,, George RR Martin is working closely with this show, so if He signed off approval of the casting, there should be not arguments about it after that.
My dumb ass waiting to hear about some magic ritual and great transformation into a literal sea serpent
Be cool to see a sea dragon
💯💯✅✅✅
One of the best characters in fire and blood.
He's going to outlive his oldest children ,his wife and his future Queen and King.
They better not repeat the last 2 season debacle with this.
Why couldn't they have just cast an accurate actor that corresponds with the books? That being said that actor looks like he can fill the role well I just hope this show is good man

It didn't give him a physical appearance . Plus Martin even said he considered making black on paper
I don't have a racist bone in my body but making corlys black to shoehorn black actors into the show really aggravates the shit out of me. Makes me not even want to watch the show.
You will watch. Corlys still looks amazing.
I'm not gonna lie as you explain this character I'm not to interested in it. But hopefully they can make it interesting
more like - how Corlys Velaryon became black out of the blue
They could easily make corlys biology make sense in the show. The velaryons may have once had pale skin, enter a woman from the summer isles, the baby would have a chance to retain the skin color of either parent, if the baby retains the moms color, he’s still a velaryons, corlys could still be Velaryon, and a mixed child has an even higher chance of having a child of either color, even more so than two people of completely opposite colors mating, I’m 50%white 50%black myself, my child could be born with white skin or brown. Yet he will still be a “Love” regardless
The Velaryons wouldnt marry a summer islander, they mainly married the Targaryans.
so much bs to justify forced diversity
@@sausagejockyGaming The Velaryon's and Targaryen's married whomever they pleased. A few of them married Dornishmen, Maegor the Cruel had a foreign wife, Aegon The Younger had a wife from Essos, Daemon Targaryen had a Summer islander looking lover, one of King Jaeherys daughters had bastards from foreign me.
As far as the Velaryon's go, we don't know enough about them to assume they only marry Targayen's. They are sailers meaning the likely spend more time away from Westeros.
@@thegreatpage5912 Incorrect in a way, one of the staples of the Valyrian Empire was its staunch bigotry and supremacist ideology. No aristocratic Valyrian would of married a Summer Islander, Rhoynar, Ghiscari, etc because it would of been political suicide for multiple reasons. a few Targaryens have married Dornishmen in part because the Martells are a powerful family that has the means of defying the Targaryen rule of Dorne. Marriage is the only reasons Dorne is in the Seven Kingdoms.
@@Holy_Discourses What you say is true, they are purist. But keep in mind House Velaryon left for Westeros before even the Targaryens did there must have been a reason why. In the show lore, perhaps they committed political suicide as you mentioned by breeding with Summer Islanders. The Summer Isles is located right below Valyria so it can't be much of a stretch to believe so.
So making him black is making him what people want to see 😂
Cool old man incoming 🤣🤘🏻
The seasnakes actor on HotD has absolutely killed it so far just showing that the internet's impotent rage is once again pointless. But all rational people already knew
it's hard for me to continue to care about detailed inspection of a universe whose writer has long-since abandoned it --- why do we care about this more than GRRM does?
GRRM is old mate. Maybe he just doenst care about writing again.
I don’t get why people are so mad he got casted. None of the Targaryen’s have purple eyes in the show so it’s weird to be way more mad about something like skin colour
You aren't thinking that hard then.
I’m still confused as to why they couldn’t just give them all purple eyes. It’s kind of a big thing.
@@ildlyn8966 or it’s not that big of an issue unless you’re a whole dweeb, and that comes from a man who has read all of the books set in the asoiaf universe. You better set aside that nerd rage for when they try some shit like the last season of got lmaooo
I respect this channel
I initially wasn’t a big fan of the casting (and I’m black) but if GRRM is working on the show and doesn’t have a problem with the casting of the Velaryons as black and mixed race, why is it such a big deal? It’s not like it’s based on real people or real history.
Because the Valyrians look and identity is central to who and what they are. These diversity hires are ridiculous.
Yeah I don’t really mind when it’s not actually historical, though I can see people’s frustrations I just think it’s not real so it doesn’t make a difference, especially when many of the viewers are going to be people who haven’t read the books anyway
BECAUSE IT IS ALL OF WESTEROS INCLUDING THE GOT UNIVERSE IN GENERAL IS LITERALLY BASED ON EUROPEAN CULTURE RESEARCH MORE ABOUT NOT ONLY GAME OF THRONES BUT ALSO THE REAL WORLD AND YOU WILL QUICKLY SEE WHY IT MAKES NO SENSE, IS WRONG, IS INAPPROPRIATE AND OFFENSIVE, IS SNEAKY AND IS LITERALLY CULTURAL DEMOGRAPHIC REPLACEMENT TO A T, I WOULDNT WANT A SHOW BASED ON OR EVEN AROUND THE ZULU PEOPLES AND THEN THEY MAKE A PROMINENT ZULU WARRIOR WHITE WITHOUT THEN EVEN EXPLAINING IT, you sir are a classic example of “its okay when its not happening to me” “max” is a european name btw🤨 get your own culture sincerely - Europe and his people

@@birdsrcoolxc34 calm down it’s not that serious. And you’re 100% WRONG. Only Westeros is European inspired. Everything else is inspired by Middle East, Africa, Asia, etc. And besides IT’S NOT EVEN REAL.
I have absolutely nothing against black actors and the more the merrier but he should not have been cast as black. It messes up the timeline mutiple ways. His family has interwed and interbreed with the targayians for generations. They should all
Be mixed at this point if his family was truly black. Also it makes the subplot with lenor and raeneys boys are his or not, mute. If they were lenors they would would be mixed. The boys shown in the show are white. No longer a “could” they be lenora or breakbones sons but have to be breakbones’s sons bc they are white and not mixed. Im sure this actor is a hell of an actor and will prolly do a good job in the show portraying corlious persona but i think shows should follow the source material. Now makes me wonder what else they have changed from the books.
It made no sense to make the character a black dude. It takes me, the viewer, out of the story while looking at this black dude with a ridiculous white wig. 😂
I think HBO can beat the shit out of MCU if they ever were to take the world of westeros and essos seriously and not just stick to the books.
One of the most offensive shows ever is getting awakened
Sounds like affirmative action destroyed the prequel before it even started fuck it i ain't watching it now
I don't mind the casting as long as they make Corlys as badass as he is in the book.
House Velaryon were not in GOT which is considerably okay when Targaryens were mentioned hardly
Steve Toussaint's acting is really good, i thought corlys was black in the books as well.😅
