  • In this video we see City of Ryde Truck 757 a dedicated recycle/vegetation truck, handling the recycling on the second week of the New Ryde-Suez Waste Collection contract. Here we see 757 tackling the Tuesday recycle run on a main drag in the suburb of Gladesville just before 8am, nearing the end of his first load. As you will see in the video there is a mixture of domestic, unit and trade recycle bins spread across this road. The driver behind the wheel of his truck 757, is Jason the leading hand for the Ryde contract seen keeping things nice and tidy and getting the job done with his two week old truck.
The four dedicated recycle trucks in the City of Ryde do a full two loads of recycle and start at 4:45am and finish at 12:30-1:30pm, recycle from the City of Ryde is tipped off at Visy Smithfield. It was clear in the first couple of weeks that the recycle trucks were struggling to complete there larger runs in two loads, which has meant that ex Ryde SL023 comes in later in the morning to knock off a load of recycle to ease the pressure off the recycle guys and make sure all bins get emptied. It is clear throughout the video that the Pendulum Packer in these new Superior Pak's was struggling to keep up with the constant loading of recyclables into the hopper especially when the driver started emptying the trade and unit bins in certain sections of this main road.
I hope you guys enjoy another video of one of the eight new Side Loaders emptying the many bins in the City of Ryde and my next video will probably be another new City of Ryde Sideloader collecting the vegetation. Thanks goes to the awesome driver Jason for letting me get some video and for the info on the trucks. Also thanks goes to you guys for watching and remember to like, fav and sub.

Awesome as stuff Alex. I bet you're missing the old truck but at least you still get to see SL23. The arm is just too slow and need to be faster but no bins have to be tidy with lids closed.

MelbourneGarbo® Thanks Caiden, I do miss seeing the old fleet but SL23 and SL24 are always floating around on runs and I must say these new Acco's do sound pretty good especially in the cab, i suppose its good to have a mix of old and new in Ryde. In the first few weeks the arms were really slow on most trucks but most if not all have had there arms sped up, especially on 758 and 752 :P Most of the guys just want there arms to flip the lids so they know what they have and have not emptied and as I said most of the trucks are up to speed now but I reckon the arm on SL23 is still quicker than the new trucks !

What have they done with SL61? Is it a spare or moved over into another contract?

+Sydney Garbo It is used as a full time truck for the time being over in Strathfield Council for the greens collection. Still parks up at the Eastern Creek Yard and all the Ryde signage has been removed. Will upload some pics to Flickr and a video on youtube of SL61 working over in Strathfield shortly.

What on Earth was that thing in the hopper at 0:44?
Wait a minute, it was a bin getting packed.

one thing raptors are shit even #90401 the banyule gen v can pack that amount of recycling at the second stop without doing that just waiting there #90401 just picks up my over filled bin an go's

Yeh I agree the paddle packer is more efficient for recycling but theres a big difference between heavy units and commercial bins filled with cardboard compared to your one bin that is full, any truck can handle one bin at a time between houses.
