  • In this video we see City of Ryde - Sita Rear Loader #004 handling the bulk bin garbage run on a Wednesday Morning, in the streets of the Meadowbank tackling the many large apartment blocks, in the small heavily populated unit area. Managed to capture the video of this truck on its second and last load for the day just after 11am polishing off the bulk bins before heading off to Eastern Creek Landfill. Most if not all the large apartment complexes in the City of Ryde have garbage collections three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and either have 240L, 660L and 1100L bins for the garbage.
RL004 in both the new and old Ryde Waste Collection Contract handles the Bulk Bin Unit and Trade Garbage on most days of the week and I believe they do a load of Bulk Bin Unit and Trade Recycling on both Tuesdays and Fridays. RL004 can still be seen out on the job two months into the new Ryde contract, tackling the bulk bins as the Dennis/Urbin Rear Loader that was purchased has issues with accessing a number of jobs along this run so it can not be used. Until the new single axle Iveco Acco Rear Loader arrives, 004 will still be used on a permanent daily basis in Ryde. As you will see in the video RL004 has had all its "City of Ryde" signage removed so after it finishes up in Ryde it can be used in other Sita residential waste contracts in Sydney.
I was happy to get footage of a City of Ryde Rear Loader finally before they were all taken away from the streets of Ryde and replaced with Dennis'. Thanks has to go both to the driver Jeff R and the runner Chris for letting me get some video, info on the trucks, the good fun along the way and I hope they enjoy the video. Also thanks goes to you guys for watching and remember to like, fav and sub.

Beautiful machine. As good a body and chassis as any. Absolutely loved 2:32, she looks and sounds extra mean from that angle. Great post!

+georgewuzheer Thanks, this truck is a good machine and packs a good load, this truck has been retired from full time service in Ryde but still works as a spare in Ryde and other Sita contracts. Should have footage coming soon of the new Ryde Dennis/Urbin that has replaced this truck above :)

Awesome as stuff Alex. I'd love to get this on film when I come up and if SL004 is gone I'd still be happy with the new trucks. Hope the new trucks have a better tipping angle as this one isn't the best.

MelbourneGarbo® Thanks Caiden, Yeah mate we can get this truck on film if you want, you never know might be still around and we will definitely get a new rear loader on video :) Spot on the tipping angle is pretty shit on this lifter especially when he picks up the 240s and 660s, the new UrBin's in Ryde have a great tipping angle and quick lifter :)
