City of Ryde Trade Waste & Recycling - SL026

- In this video we see City of Ryde Trade Waste and Recycling truck SL026, in the first clip collecting a line of full orange lidded trade (commercial) waste bins on a early Tuesday morning at Midway Shops in North Ryde just before 6:30am. The second and third clips in the video shows SL026 handling the recycling on a couple of Monday mornings in the industrial and unit area of Meadowbank between 7am and 8am. SL026 is the current Trade Waste Collection truck in Ryde under the Sita Contract until May 2015, this truck starts off at 3:30am and does a load of trade garbage and is usually done by 7am, after that this truck returns to do a quick load of Trade recycle and on some days comes back to knock off a load of recycle, to help out the other five recycle trucks. It is essential that all the Trade work in Ryde gets knocked off early and this is why this truck is allowed to head out of the yard an hour before the rest of the Ryde fleet.
SL026 can be seen running around the whole of Ryde Council every morning picking up the orange lidded trade garbage bins, as the jobs are scattered all over the place and it can also be seen entering neighboring councils such as Hunters Hill for the Gladesville and Boronia Park pickups and Parramatta Council for a few bins in Rydalmere. The first clip of this video was taken at Midway Shops and was the final garbage job for that Tuesday before this truck headed out to the tip and then later returned for a load of recycle. I have been wanting to get footage of SL026 collecting the trade waste bins for ages and I was happy I finally got it collecting around 20 bins in the car park of Midway Shops.
Tommorrow (1st May 2015) is the start of the new Ryde Waste Collection contract and I will be up nice and early to see the trucks on there first few hours of operation, I have been told there are 8 Sideloader's (4 garbage, 4 recycle/veg) and 4 Rearloaders (2 cleanup, 1 recycle, 1 garbage). Sad to see these old trucks go but some will be kept as spares and the rest will be sold, as for the drivers most of the drivers are staying which is good news, as they are a good group of workers that get the job done. Plenty of footage to come of the old Ryde trucks in action and also the new trucks to my channel and my Flickr account. In the new Ryde contract starting 1st May 2015 the trade truck will be dropped and all the Trade bins will be added to the domestic runs.

MelbourneGarbo® Thanks caiden, he is a great driver and we always have a good chat. Yeah its a shame mate these trucks still go strong and I don't know if you heard but after one day with the new trucks, the drivers already want the old trucks back :D

Iveco fan nz Thanks a few will be kept as spares, SL061 will be used as the Strathfield Greens truck and the rest will be sold, so still means a few of the old ones will be around Ryde probably just repainted in the Sita-Suez livery :)
Hopefully the new trucks are as good as the old ones.

willoughbygarbagefan 31 A few years ago this truck was involved in some sort of incident which resulted in this truck receiving a new paint job, thats why it looks newer on the outside :) I did get some footage of the new trucks today on Recycle but could not get as much as I wanted as it was raining this morning, i plan to get more on Monday :)
@alex keegan, No he does a load of garbage first and then comes back with an empty truck to do recycle.

Garbofan 101 They sure do, the new trucks are white all round with the City of Ryde signage on both sides of the truck. Some will be kept as spares so they will still be around Ryde :)
@wyong garbo, he does a load of trade waste for 3-4 hours and then comes back empty to do a load of recycling for 2-3 hours.
