- In this video we see another light blue Cleanaway Side Loader out of the Blacktown yard with a 2007 Iveco Acco and Macdonald Johnston 25m GenV body. This time handling a residential recycling run in the Baulkham Hills contract on a sunny Thursday morning in the booming urban area of Beaumont Hills. This truck is an ex Parramatta Green Waste truck and after it finished full time service in Parra 4 years ago it has been used ever since as a reliable and young spare/floater truck in a number Cleanaway's Sydney contracts.
Im sure we all recognise the young gun behind the wheel, who was having a good time driving this beast and scooping those recycle bins up and down with a quick lifter and a speedy set of grabs. Couldn't have asked for better weather conditions on this particular day....clear blue sky with the sun shining and no wind, which means you can clearly hear the engine working at its best as it roared through the streets !
All recycle from the Baulko contract is taken to Visy Smithfield for processing, Mitch did two solid loads of recycle on this day. He was supposed to do three loads but an extra floater truck came in to his work to take out a load for him. Its a mean sounding and hard working truck this one and in great condition for its age too. Hope everyone enjoys the action and I reckon the video should be an easy watch considering the truck and operator in the spotlight !

Thanks Mick, yeh its pretty good picking up you really dont have to rely much on the slide ey, new housing estates like this are generally pretty good as bins are close to each other and not parked out. Haha I knew you were going to say something about the spillage...just couldn't help yourself lol :P
this exact run now has 861 the ex parra dennis full time. crazy to think it went from the old MJ ex parras to the TPI Spaks.

Oh how I'm glad to finally check this out, already watched it twice in a row, will be at least one more viewing this avo ;) Worst thing about watching yourself is the video goes too quick and I knew it would when I saw it was 10min (not 20min like Randwick hehe). That was a good choice for the opening and ending, bit of low RPM exhaust sound through the roundabout and exhaust bouncing off the houses at the end. I'll never forgive myself for that BLS at 1:32, that'll scar me for life. Glad you included 6:10 to show what can happen when a GenV system overrides the operator's control lol The clip starting at 6:17 is one I was waiting for and I wasn't disappointed, sounds and looks really good coming down the street with the angle of the road and where you set-up, plus that clatter of glass at the second bin really got me going haha What sucks is that as much as the truck sounds great on video, the work of a camera doesn't do justice for what it sounds like in person ey, but we still captured fine tunes! I'm devo you didn't include all the stuff you took, but that's just me being greedy for more :P Great video mate, thanks for coming out and catching 312 in action! Glad I got to drive a couple of the old Parra trucks and now there's a video on here for me to remember too :D Looking forward to that greens video - any chance that's next or do I have to wait a bit?

Im glad you enjoyed it Mitch and yeh Ive watched it a few times and it does feel really short ey ! Ever since you started over at Cleanaway I wanted to make sure I got you on video driving one of these ex Parra GenV's, seeing as your a big fan of 07 Acco (with this cab) and the GenV combo :) I liked that opening shot because of that nice exhaust sound when you came around the roundabout, glad my camera captured it. Yeh the final shot was good with you disappearing into the distance haha. Haha the BLS never thought I would get you on camera doing one of those as I know you like to leave your bins all standing with lids flipped after tipping. Yeh the clip at 6:17 came out well and youre right the angle was perfect, love the sound of a bin full of glass crashing into the hopper....you just know its a fast paced Aussie recycle collection when you hear that ! Yeh every truck always sounds better in person ey, gotta enjoy it while there still around as one day all we will have to remember are these videos :) Haha I bet you are wondering why I didn't include those other two deadender clips, the first one would have been a beaut clip but the camera didn't focus and the second clip was a shit set up by me with too many trees in the way. Thanks mate was good fun coming out as always and you make it easy videoing for me :) The baulko greens one wont be next mate but maybe second or third.

That's something the old GenVs can do randomly - arm comes to a momentary stop before the hopper and then keeps going the rest of the way, sometimes you spill shit, sometimes it all goes in. This truck would stop sometimes when you reached out with the slide, just going up and down with the lifter it would be fine... got a mind of their own sometimes. One day it'll be a genuine system fault which stuffs up and the next day it'll be a random glitch. You'll notice it does it on the first two bins of that same clip ey.
Oh I see, but anyway I did enjoy that glitch! Man I want to come up just for one day at least and you at work ahahaha. You always in a Raptor or GenV?
Oh yeh it's real enjoyable when it doesn't happen to you lol Fucking annoying when you clean up the mess once and the arm empties that same bin all over the road again :P I will be waiting your arrival..... nek minute I'm on holidays hehe This day Alex videoed me a few weeks back was the first time I drove a GenV since he got me in Burwood some months ago... so not in a GenV often. Been in MkIVs a bit more recently, plenty of Raptor action beforehand, might be Sidepak soon though. Things change a lot, could be doing this or that with this truck or that truck kinda thing ey.
Thanks mate and yeh this ones in good nic for its age, the thing I like about Cleanaway in Sydney is that they have very good presentation of there residential collections fleet, even those old Canada Bay MKIV's still look pretty good.
Hey mate I have a question please reply. How are you able to find all these trucks. Do you know the timetable of every suburb for the trucks or something. Please tell me as I'm looking into doing this for one of my hobbies :)
Just knowledge I have gained over the years of where the trucks operate and that. Most of the info can be found on council websites about collection days.
