Imagine you're filming the movie 300. The camera pans to show a wide shot of all the soldiers and half of them are gay women. That would be weird. If the movie takes place in a modern city it wouldn't be weird at all to see a gay couple walking down the street. It would be to see a platoons worth of Spartans going to war with a hotdog vendor though. The characters in a film need to be relevant to the world and the story being told or it's like having a TV ad in the middle of the film that keeps showing up over and over again. Nobody likes ads. Most people have no problem diverse characters as long as they fit the world.

Unless they completely destroy cannon then Yoda can’t be in it. The Jedi alive during Episode One had never encountered a Sith and the last reported encounter was over a thousand years prior to that. Plagueis would be around 15 during the time period and was raised from infancy as a Sith, so the Sith in the show probably is him or his master unless they break cannon again.
Yoda jumping around like a _Tom & Jerry_ cartoon in the Prequels was ruined almost 30 years ago.

As a gay man i can attest that I love representation more than anyone but for once id like a gay character to just exist and it not be a big deal as it should be.
I remember those robots in college who were so hell bent on making everyone know their stance on sexuality. They pushed me away as they were too gay to talk to. Hopefully they go to college to learn, not show-off or hook-up. I felt that college courses took an easy/cheap route by focusing in these characters/persons instead of actual education. The Jedi 'uniform' should be an approximation of what Luke wore in ROTJ. Fighters who wield laser swords wouldn't be wearing baggy clothes and a robe.
While we're on the subject, there's too many Jedi. Better to present them as smaller in number but mysterious & powerful, rather than armies of them that are easily disposed of. That would also help sell why their presence and use of the force is seemingly forgotten in the original trilogy despite so little time having passed.

The only thing that catches my attention in this trailer is seeing the damage that a lightsaber can do to these trees, and remembering all the times someone who was hit by this powerful weapon came out alive and walking a short time later in Star Wars from Disney.

Speaking of bringing Earth stuff in Star Wars I remember an article begging that Star Wars bring in characters with Muslim names. The author's reasoning is that since Christianity is already represented by Luke, a name from the the Bible, so now Star War should diversify its roster of characters. I don't remember when exactly this article was released but I know that the current meaning of the words "woke" and "diversity" haven't yet to appear. I think this was back when I was still mostly read articles from websites and have yet to become a full time CZcams content consumer.

The fact that they had to create a story involving Leia in the Obi Wan series, and that Luke was not even considered at all, says a lot about the attention to even macroscopic details of these productions... who needs more protection? To a little girl who is part of a very powerful family, who lives on a peaceful planet...or to a boy who resides with his aunt and uncle on an isolated farm in the middle of a desert, populated by aggressive natives, dangerous animals and various others dangers?
Not to mention that Leia won't mention all this mess when she records her distress message in ANH, only mentioning the Clone Wars...and, indeed...the way she talks about it ("you served (you, Obi Wan Kenobi) under my father in the Clone Wars") suggests a story told to her by her father Bail Organa, and that therefore she has never met Obi firsthand.

Finally a couple yrs ago I mentioned it in an EFAP chat, and a friendly ewok there said that there is a DVD commentary where the editor or someone says that its NOT actually force speed run, but an unintended glitch in the movie edit that was incomprehensibly left in rather than cut or corrected.
I remember reading the novelisation of TPM when it first came out, and it definitely said the Jedi force run from the droidekas. So that editor or producer was talking bollocks. It wasn't any overlooked glitch.

When I saw TFA I picked up on The Message... had low expectations.. gave it 3.5/10 after seeing the movie.I was checked out afterward.. glad many have finally caught on.

I think the problem with disney in general, at this point, even if they do make something good, we've been conditioned to expect it to be trashy. they need to "subvert our expectations", at this point that means make something good, and I don't think they're capable with current management, hopefully this show will be a wakeup call that no matter how much funding they get from multinational hedge fund stock holders and such, they can't force people to like or buy what they're trying to sell us literally or metaphorically...
