I like the part in the Acolyte where the Jedi who are portrayed as evil and incompetent, who all happen to be women and people of color and not a single white man. Good job Disney.

@@discobroccoli198 The point is that they keep painting themselves into a corner of thinly veiled racism against white males, while still attempting to come across as diverse and inclusive, even though their casting keeps betraying them, and their diverse characters repeatedly turns out to be monsters.
Reba was the perfect example of this consistent cognitive dissonance, in that they tried to make a strong and empowered black female, who were little more than a psychotic child abuser truth be told, and somehow they still managed to miss that fact, as they projected their own racism on to us as an audience for not liking her.

Though I’m unaware of any accusations made against her specifically, we do know that victims of his confirmed the involvement of other assistants of his in procuring his “entertainment”. One such woman spoke of headland’s predecessor, how she had asked this assistant to accompany her into her meeting with weinstein as she was made uncomfortable by him, though she didn’t know of his actions at that point. The assistant agreed to accompany her to this room, but proved to be lying as she left the woman unattended with Weinstein in a locked room, where this poor woman was left victimized. She reportedly screamed loudly for help, knowing that the assistant would be at her desk nearby, but no one came to her aid.
Even though we don’t have any direct confirmations that headland specifically was involved in the same manner, it is highly unlikely that she wouldn’t at least know what was happening, as assistants are employed to be constantly at the side of their bosses. She couldn’t have been unaware. That at the very least is incriminating.
If they hadn't have mentioned Jedis or had some lightsabers being waved about, I wouldn't have known it was supposed to be Star Wars

Anecdotal but we went to see Phantom Menace earlier with the kids. About 35 people at the showing, not many.
Before it started it said there was an exclusive look at the Acolyte after the credits.
All but 1 couple were left by the time Duel of the fates started as we left during the credits. The Dad behind specifically said to his son that they aren't staying to see that crap.

I grew up in the late 50's - early 70's, being a fan of most Disney creations, ESPECIALLY their amusement parks. I also was a big fan of the early (Lucas) Star Wars movies. Recent Disney corporate management seems to be turning everything they touch to manure through their uninspiring, asinine attempts at social engineering, presumably in an effort to achieve a higher DEI score. I will take a pass (as I have for several years) on ANY of their attempts at entertainment until they stop putting out this garbage.

Stranger Things and A Quiet Place seem to probably have more potential than Alien and Predator under Disney’s dictatorship. Both are original Sci fi horror franchises about alien monsters and whereas the declining quality of Alien and Predator over the years and now the latter 2 are now owned by Disney and expect a lot of Disney inserting and only allowing female protagonists and no competent male heroes. So Alien and Predator will go from bad to worse.

I mean the whole force-sensitive twins thing has been done before. Anyone remember battlefront with X1 and X2? It seems like an interesting premise. And I mean there's also Arcann and Thexan from SWTOR.
The more I think about this, the more I think of how Luasfilm could do a Star Wars movie with Mark Hamhil and Hayden Christiansen. A father and son story coming back from the Wills of the Force to save the galaxy from a new threat or something. I don't know; maybe have one of the enemies be from George's old plot details from 1977 of the Dark Jedi who destroy Rey's Jedi order and nearly kill her and try to wipe out the new republic. Have all of the Dark Jedi wear Darth Vader masks with Jet Packs and have red light sabers. I guess I just don't understand why this is so hard to put together. They could even get Obi-wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn to come back to and Samual L Jackson. Those actors are still alive. Billy Dee Williams is still kicking it and put together a bad ass Star Wars movie with high stakes but leave out the Emperor Palpatine from the pickle jar. All I'm saying is if Disney is that focused on burning money on garbage movies then why not just hire Mark Hamhil to direct and Johnthan Frakes as Executive Director and spend a lot of money getting some really good actors and release the film. I guarantee it, it would make a billion dollars. They got morons running this studio.

This is a very important note you've made regarding their boilerplate aesthetics and storytelling tropes and lazy strategies. Even the musical and camera elements are no good. They're just using past elements of different properties in the hopes that it will transfer over. Add in their implicit agendas, and you have the same assortment of castings, characters and stories in nearly everything they put out. The first damage to SW, for example, was them erasing the EU lore which disconnected it from its aesthetics, themes and identity. It was only a matter of time before what they had left was a product where they had to plug in elements from other properties to keep it afloat while trying to maintain the veneer of SW. You see this with Rebel Moon, which has the veneer of SW. I would not be surprised if Acolyte and Rebel Moon are what they were juggling to label as SW. They're literally the same thing.
They've done this with various other properties, I've noticed. This is why everything is slop. Sometimes, copying elements work, but good writers know how to twist it in a creative ways to give the viewer something fresh. This doesn't work with legacy properties like SW that have their own identity that has been established over time, which they erased. Arcane cannot be plugged into Star Wars.
