Those figures don’t tell the full story. If the person were really British they would know it’s still a national institution no matter how hard the devious American Fundies desperately attempt to have it cancelled because they can’t tolerate sections of society other than straight white being represented. Just sad types.

Yes, it was extremely "British" sci-fi in many ways, harkening back to such great British sci-fi as H G Wells "The Time Machine" and "The War of the Worlds", and "Quatermass". I even had a German work colleague say it was very British. Now it's cosmopolitan, lefty-lovey rubbish.

What i say in this comment is a true account and shows the disgusting nature of the current fans of DW, never would i think having an opinion would lead me to a meeting at my work.
So this is what happened, i was a member of a popular DW group on Facebook, and i expressed my disliking towards the overall state of the once great series and was immediately met with backlash from deluded fans who falsely accused me of extreme racism, misogyny and violent threats. All of which were grossly false. Fast forward one week later and i got called to a meeting and was met with HR showing me screenshots of my alleged comments and behaviours. All of which have been edited to make a convincing peice of "evidence". It turns out one of the group admins had screenshot my comments, edited them and sent to my company via E-mail. Fortunately i remained in the group and showed my unedited comments and proved my total innocence. It just shows how disgusting people are. I contacted the admin who falsely accused me and threatened them with legal action and will be involving the Police and i was immediately blocked and banned from the group.

RTD really has destroyed his own legacy when it comes to DW and I'm still surprised ... because this was a guy who absolutely understood what was needed to make the show a success in 2005.
He knew the part of the Doctor needed to be filled with an actor who was basically 'too good' for the show. He knew classic villains needed to be taken more seriously and to show them as a genuine threat. He knew he had to stay true to the history of the show and not alienate the older fanbase. He also knew he would have to introduce some modern elements here and there to interest new young fans.
Now the show is just a playground for the characters and stories that he and his friends PERSONALLY want to see. Any thought of mass appeal and doing what is best for the health of the show has been discarded. I thought he was smarter than that ... I thought he respected the show more than that .... I was fucking wrong, and I hate him for risking the whole thing like this.

NO! That is what this is. What it would benefit from is to go back to a mass appeal straight white male Doctor, who would reach the largest audience. Good writing, where he is a Time Lord from Gallifrey and the Timeless Child origins is removed from the character and it goes back to what it always was. DOCTOR WHO! Put it on over winter on dark nights, and make each story a two parter to bring back the cliff hangers of old. Its not hard to fix. It worked for over 50 years, its only the woke and gender crap of today that is wrecking it. If you did the above you would get the old fans back, you would get new ones coming in the under 30s, the merch would sell and it would do will in the good ol USA. You know, like it did in 2005....

Just let me be the showrunner and ill make it make sense in about 10 minutes. And then move forward with the show from the mess it is now.
1; Have CAL in the library be Clara the 1st NEW Doctor for the new (Doomsday/Big Bang) Whoniverse
2; Have PC become "Doctor Moon" = Rest after series 9 are not canon and only an Matrix simulation)
3; Have River Songs death become a brand new timemachine "RIVERS".
4; Have our Doctor accept hes no longer the DOctor and instead the Caretaker/Curator President over our mankind as both he & CAL Saves everyone as everyone dies thruout history
5; Have the Master race be those first saved to a harddrive (as the Master had to build a hardrive to store all of our living minds in End of time to be able to control us all) and as teh MAster race died (as it turned back to us) be saved to that harddrive = We would have a large number of blank multiform basestations Our President could make so everyone got the chance to a 2nd life being uploaded into the Blank multiform basestations.....
      =
All of current New WHo would be the "Dark times" of our mankind as we becomes the rulers over time inside the new Whoniverse...
6; Have the former rulers over time (the TImelords) Become split up at the end of the timewar as Gallifrey got burnt by the dying Jon SImms Master in the same moment it was frozen in that moment..
      =
1 faction would be fully ascended (Those at the Gallifreyan high counsil) (using the Moment (to basicly become the new Whoniverse KEY to time
and 1 faction would be trapped quantumlocked both being dead/ascended and alive at the same time
and have those two factions fight against each other as 1 guard thier fate and the other does everything it can to prevent thier fate....
= We would have a GREAT set up for plenty of adventures as the long way home to the burnt/terraformed former Gallifrey is filled with "problems to over come" as our former Doctor
becoems what Rassilon was for the TImelords (in the classic Whoniverse) = the show basicly moves toward completing the full arc story of slowly returning to the state the show began with in 1963....

I'm a die hard Dr Who enthusiast since the early days. What's on TV now is not Dr Who. It's even worse than the third rate comedians the put on the show over the last few years. There might be a time and place for what they're showing now. But Dr Who it isn't.

I loved Doctor Who and have watched every episode until Xmas 2023, when I watched 2 of the 3 and said enough is enough. Effectively it has ended for me so all these new propaganda episodes are no longer the same series. It's sad to see a iconic TV programme hijacked like this, and the only reason I can see is The BBC and RTD just want to push an agenda of anything goes it's not just gay it's purvey and they want to peddle this content just like an illegal substance dealer in an ice cream van would, with no thought of the consequences. The mental health of people who were influenced by things like this will be mind boggling in the future when people will start regretting their past life choices may be even irreversible alterations, then what happens?

I'm old enough to have watched the very first episode on the BBC when I used to live in Scotland and was obsessed with Doctor Who. I started to lose my passion during the Matt Smith era, then gave up on most of the series when they introduced Missy, and only tuned in occasionally for two or three stories per season, because there was none of the old magic.
I completely bypassed the Jodie era for many reasons, the main one being I can't stand her!
I watched the 3 Doctor\Donna specials, hated the first two for their 'messaging'. I liked most of The Giggle apart from the silly cop-out at the end with the ball game. I then decided to watch The Church On Ruby Rose and found absolutely nothing in it that looked like Doctor Who.
I bypassed all the others to follow because they had nothing in common with Doctor Who and knew from others who did watch that it was full of LGBT propaganda. It also seemed to me that Davies was trying to appeal only to the gay and bi audience with his choice of stories? I did, however, watch this one because ppl were being so positive about it, and found it to be a brilliant episode, up there with the ones from its heyday with David Tennent (but it won't make me watch the previous episodes!). This was the type of story he should have been telling months earlier, as it has none of the messaging in it, and is back to what NuWho did best!
The sad fact of the matter however, is that due to what we have had to endure for all these years means that no matter how great this story is, no one will be watching it and the series will eventually die!

I just wish they were a bit more rigorous with the casting choices.. It's all very well having a varied cast but when meritocracy goes out of the window and you employ someone who ticks a box but can't act for toffee it doesn't half show. Then we're not allowed to be critical for fear of being called intolerant or, told to go and touch grass. No wonder people don't bother watching.

They have had ALOT of flops recently and their stock fell bellow 100$.
I don´t think they will be able to afford continuously financing shows that doesn´t pull in the viewers.
We saw what they did with Willow, they might do the same here.
Go for as long as their contract obligates them to and then just pull the plug and leave.
Sure Amazon or Netflix might take over.
But amazon already got one heck of a gut punch with Rings of Power, i don´t think they want Doctor Who anywhere near them.
At least not unless BBC sweetens the deal with "Yeah you are getting all episodes of New Who but also every episode of classic Who."
Sure then they might say "Okay we´ll finance you for a season or two."
Netflix... i don´t think they want ANYTHING to do with Doctor Who.
