@@oscarvanlaar6043 yup, after we pulled over she admitted to having no insurance and trying to run from me though. since it was partially my fault anyway and i barely had any damage i told her if shes fine dealing with her cars damage then im happy to let it go. we agreed and went our separate ways.

@@tarico4436 We don't "all make this mistake" because a) we don't drive around in winter on summer tires (unless by summer tires he means "all season"...), and b) because we don't drive like an idiot doing the same speed as the traffic on the highway as we're going around a somewhat snowy off-ramp curve. Driving for 20 years in eastern Pennsylvania, in all sorts of cars (87 VW Golf, 87 Jeep Wrangler, 99 Dodge Durango, 2009 Smart ForTwo, 2013 Dodge Dart, 2016 Smart ForTwo, and now 2023 Tesla Model Y) sometimes on snow tires and sometimes not, and have never once INVOLUNTARILY ended up 90 degrees off from facing down the road, let alone doing damn near an entire 360 degree spin. I've had my fun kicking the back end out on purpose, doing handbrake slides or just stomping on the gas, but rarely on highly traveled public roads.

I’m not defending this guy at all, moreso just to understand how flighty people are. We have: fight, flight, or hesitate. Cammer definitely hesitated and that was their downfall, they were way too panicked to even think of hitting the brakes so their NEXT “logical” conclusion was to veer to the left and follow into the vehicle. I think a good amount of crashes are because of people who 1:Cannot give right of way for some reason because of their giant ego, 2: people who get stunned extremely easily and just don’t react at all and drive straight into the crash, and 3: driving too fast or neglecting changing their tires.

3:05 Cammer wasn't completely the idiot. They waited until the light turned red. The other driver was absolutely at fault, 100%, and the daschcam verified that. Yes, cammer could have been maybe a bit more cautious and possibly avoided a collision, but genuinely owned none of the blame in that situation.
Very true. Once the light turns red you can only wait so long on the oncoming traffic. Within a second or so you have to make the judgment call whether they are stopping or not. I really don't think that the cammer was an idiot in this case.

3:25 I'm confused. If you're exiting the roundabout, shouldn't you be in the right lane, and not the left? I feel like the guy entering isn't in the wrong, because he would assume someone in the left lane isn't exiting. Someone please clarify, as all our roundabouts are single lanes.
I thought the same. But when you look at the painted arrows, it shows that you can exit from the inner lane?! I have never driven on a double roundabout and I would have probably effed it up too.
It's because the white car should have yielded until cam car exited or passed at all, which they did not do. The left lane in a two-lane roundabout can take any exit except the first.

Multi-lane roundabouts are STUPID! Roundabouts should minimize conflict points, not exacerbate them!
42.28850990447074, -89.08009978367082 is where this is. The arrows on the pavement when entering the roundabout show the traffic engineers' ideas about how it's supposed to work. 🤦
You must **always** yield entering a roundabout, theres no way around it. Doubles are common in Sweden and yes. It's allowed and common here to leave roundabouts from the left. The second rule here is that the car in the inner left lane must also always yield to the outer, right lane of the roundabout. So technically the easiest way to drive in a roundabout is in the right lane as it has least yields.

Man I'm still getting used to the ins and outs of driving and I make some mistakes every now and again and I end up feeling super guilty. Seeing these videos makes me feel better about myself. I may make a few simple mistakes, but some of these people just don't deserve a license
Summer tires are dangerous during the winter, even if there's no snow. They are made of a harder compound, which becomes too stiff when it's cold outside.

Well said. I just bought a 2004 Toyota Corolla in December. First thing I did was make an appointment to get a set of Nokian Haakappilliitta R5 winter tires fitted. For summer I have Michelin Discovery tires for which I just bought a set of alloy wheels. Only way to go

P.S. My "summer" tires, didn't turn into "RC plastic tires" when it got doen to -35 F this winter...

Cammer was already in the intersection, the car approaching the intersection who never slowed down was the one who ran the red light. I don't know where you are at but here in the US you are not allowed to drive through a red light unless you are in the intersection before it goes red.

On an unprotected light, if you're first in line you move into the intersection and sit in the middle until you can go (meaning no traffic going straight from the other way.) Sometimes traffic doesn't allow for that, until the light actually turns red, in which case, that's when you go before traffic starts moving the other way.

2:00 Yeah, that car was probably definitely trying to avoid that crankcase or whatever the hell debris it was on the road in front of them. No deduction for you not noticing it too. But you might have if you were looking ahead. More this is a good example of why passing on the left is preferred.
It's actually mandatory where I live, even when the guy in front is cruising in the middle or left lane (which is forbidden).

At 2:50, other driver was running the red. On the back camera, you can see the light behind you was green before they hit you, meaning their light had to have already been red.

It seems to me as though most people only get dashcams so that they have more opportunities to post things online. they get so excited when they see something they can post, and many people record crashes and things on their dashcams that could REALLY help other people out and they just leave. It's too bad.

Ive almost made the mistake when i just got my license 🤔i just got my first car and it came with 20 year old studded tires and i didnt check em since i didnt know any better lol. I didn't spin out though, just fish tailed until i regained cars control back since i was going like 15mph.

google search "2 lane roundabout right of way", outside lane must turn off, inside lane can continue the circle or exit, you must wait to enter a multi lane roundabout until all lanes are clear, there would not have been a collision if the merging in car stayed in the outside and made his exit to the outside exit lane as intended

I'm in UK and we have double mini roundabouts, which are quite common as well as a 6-circle roundabout in Swindon, named The Magic Roundabout, and a 7-circle roundabout in Hemel Hempstead, named The Plough Roundabout, named after a bar, now gone. The double mini roundabouts are not two lanes but two different mini roundabouts, one immediately after the other. I would suggest you Google the others, or type them into CZcams and you can see drone footage which is well worth your time

I've read arguments for & against roundabouts but, from what I've seen, they're not more or less safer so long as there are people driving on them.
2:02 Couple problems: cammer car is clearly MASSIVELY SPEEDING and is passing in the wrong lanes. Passing from lanes 3-4 instead of 1-2. NOT GOOD. Nobody would expect cars passing on their right. Also, DO NOT DRIVE with a cracked windshield like that - it can easily BLOW OUT INTO YOUR FACE.

The rules of ALL ROADS. Check your all of your rear view mirrors at ALL TIMES. Look left and right at ALL traffic lights. Even check your blind spots as well. This will help you become more of a safe driver.
