Lied in court? Road Rage Range Rover- Court Results and Plot Twist
Vložit
- čas přidán 15. 05. 2024
- In court I promised the driver I'd put the earlier footage they wanted to see on CZcams- it's just taken me a bit of time!
I get that everyone has a right to mount a defence but it's a poor show when someone attempts to defend their own behaviour by making stuff up about someone else.
Were they guilty of pejury? I certainly strongly suspect so. When I said I had retained the original footage and could easily get the earlier footage they fairly rapidly changed the subject. If they truly believed I had initiated this whole episode this footage would have played a fairly crucial part in their defence in which case it was odd to change subject when I volunteered to provide that footage. I suspect the driver was worried the judge was going to ask me to produce that earlier footage for viewing in court.
I don't normally highlight court results. However in this case, given the somewhat spectacular accusations the driver made against me it feels not unreasonable to highlight the outcome.
If you read this driver- I don't have anything against you. But please drive more considerately. You almost pushed me into the cycle lane, you were driving against oncoming traffic, you could have killed me, yourself, the drivers of the oncoming cars, a cyclist or a pedestrian. Merging in turn would have resulted in precisely zero delay to your journey. Driving a Range Rover doesn't give you the right to bully and force other road users off the road and out of the way.
In my view either you were making stuff up in court or you were thinking of a different episode which means that this was just one of many similar episodes you've been involved in. I'm not sure which one is worse. Either one surely requires a bit of introspective reflection.
Equally, if you've read this and have watched the end of the video to confirm how this episode started (or rather didn't) leave me a comment with the court date/time (to confirm identity) and I'll pull the video.

The cam car had the right of way did he not. The Range Rover driver was just an egotistical wanker trying to bully someone
No he didn't. Firstly there is no such thing as a right of way according to the highway code. Secondly the 'move over' arrow was on the cammer's side as it was his lane that was ending.
@@user-td5of9nw8n It's merge in turn or a zipper merge, given that the white Range Rover in the right lane was in front of the cam car, that would mean the would be next in line. Pathetic in every way. The waiting at the lights is the mindset of a toddler. Glad he copped fine and 5 points.
I don't understand why someone would risk a collision just to get in front ,he could have just dropped in behind you ,but to then brake check you and act in an aggressive behaviour is unacceptable. You're seeing this more and more with range rover drivers !
I'm glad you just didn't let this drop, perhaps now he'll think twice before doing this again .
With his inability to tell the truth from a lie just imagine what he's like to live/work with or even got forbid work for.
A manipulative, self important and all round arrogant c**t probably.
Anyone who represents themselves is a twat by default. They are generally considered foolish, arrogant tossers by the courts and there have been cases where they've messed up their own defence so badly that the trial has had to be stopped.
Even lawyers hire other lawyers to represent them.
The benefits of a quality dashcam. Essential nowadays.
Got one on the front window and back.
Amazing how many ignorant, aggressive and idiotic drivers there are.
And yes I’ve had to send footage to the police many times.
Don’t want to get a fine and points/disqualification? Don’t drive like a pillock.
This is where drivers who are sensible enough to invest in a dashcam get their payback! The camera doesn't lie, the times I here about cars being hit by other cars sustaining hundreds if not thousands of pounds worth of damage and the person that caused the accident either lies or drives of and had the victim invested in a dash cam they would have increased the odds of some kind of justice considerably. Well done mate.
I got a dash cam after I tapped a woman's car at a stoplight (my fault) that resulted in a baseball size dent in her fender and cracked paint on mine.
She sent my insurance a letter requesting information on my policy maximum (lol, no, obvious fraud incoming), then had an idiot of a lawyer write another letter misgendering me and saying I was a menace on the road and she can't hold her baby because she has aggravated back injuries. Her chiropractor (not a real doctor) said the injuries came from the crash (impossible to determine, and if your back is injured, going to a chiropractor is going to make it worse). This was a 2mph bump at best. It didn't even dent my plastic bumper cover.
Cost me thousands and thousands in increased insurance premiums.
Fair play on your part. What a foolish and self-entitled person they are. Funny and ironic how they are essentially complaining about being slowed down (when they didn't have priority anyway, so don't have a reasonable argument) but then have loads of time in their hands to waste on dangerous nonsense like this... Some people.
Good Result - Justice was done . . . . . . . lets hope he learns the lesson about self control & anger management, like us 'Big-Boys' have learnt to do !
He’s not a Range Rover driver. He’s a guy that’s driving around in a 12 year old car on finance, pretending to be something he desperately wants to be.
TBF not really different to your average Range Rover driver. Other than an older car
Glad somebody reported one of these smart counts.
I understand why someone might try every silly move & risk, just to 'GET IN FRONT' - but why when they've achieved that goal, are they so prepared to 'Brake-Check', slow down to cause an inconvenience, or stop-dead & jump out to confront someone - it seem like the whole MGIF 'Move' is counter-productive
He was trying to trap him at the red light as some sort of telling off, is my guess. He waited for the light to go amber before he moved off, hoping cammer would be stuck at the red. 100% this was not the first time he tried that move.
Yeah, that's exactly what he was trying to do . . . . . . how petty is that though - thats not normal for a grown/adult man !

@@debramitchell53 . . . . I agree - The whole 'event' was a nonsense-incident
That guy is 'wired-too-tight' and his reaction was over the top for such a minor incident
Absolutely, it's baffling sometimes. The whole "must get in front" mentality can lead to some reckless behavior on the road. And you're right, it's counterproductive. Once they've maneuvered their way to the front, you'd think they'd be satisfied, but then they engage in more risky behavior, like brake-checking or confrontations. It's like they're caught up in the moment and forget about the bigger picture of safety and cooperation on the road.
It is good to see this absolute (insert any swear word of your choosin) didnt get away with it. Shame he was not charged with perjury as well.

So, when someone mentions "clickbait," they're referring to content-like a misleading title or thumbnail-that's designed to attract attention and clicks, often without delivering on the promised content. It's a term commonly used on the internet to criticize sensational or deceptive marketing tactics.

I realise generalising is dangerous but I agree with many comments that drivers of Land Rovers and Range Rovers in particular are the most aggressive on the road. They seem to have a sense of entitlement. It’s not unusual even in my rural location to see aggressive and dangerous driving from these people. The fact they are sitting in a tank capable of killing people doesn’t register.
And thats what I call a result, well done for taking this to court and for having a dash camera, I never drive without one. Subbed you, keep them coming.

Disgraceful driver of the Land Rover. People like that should not be permitted to drive or heck be allowed out on the roads.
If he said all that in court it'll be documented. You can sue for slander and deformation of character.

Thanks to you ,he will think twice before pulling that stunt on someone else and he will remember you every time he renews his car insurance .
Depending on what he said in court about the mins before he might have commited perjury.
The bit I'm not sure about is whether perjury requires the person to be under oath and, if so, whether the defendant (if representing themselves and asking the witness questions) is already under oath or only goes under oath at a later stage when putting forward their defence.
It's a Range Rover, what did you expect?

You can always tell when people are guilty. Instead of employing a Solicitor or lawyer who have worked in law for years, they decide to do DIY law and it never ends well.
True. I guess it could either be because they think they're going to lose so not worth spending (effectively an admission of guilt) or because they're simply too embarrassed to try and persuade a solicitor of their innocence- though the clear cobblers people spew under oath in court when defending themselves suggests it's not that!

Good result at court for you tho. Nice one.
Some years ago I got 3 points and £100 fine by the police at the roadside. It could have gone to court instead, but that came with the caveat that the courts had the power to issue a stiffer penalty and the police penalty was fair and proportionate. So I just accepted it. The conviction is now 'spent' and is no longer an issue.
The Range Rover driver created a rod for his own back. And anyone who represents themselves is generally considered to be an arrogant tosser.
And your talk of perjury is precisely why the police often want to see at least 4-5 minutes of the video beforehand.

Worth their weight in gold , or penalty points and fines 😂
I bet the 'victim' was making hand gestures not visable on camera, thats why the car stopped a second time!
It's a shame you think so poorly of your fellow humans that you jump to that conclusion. Also given all the stuff the Range Rover driver made up in court if I had done something like that would (something that actually antagonised them) I suspect they would have mentioned it in court. TBH I wasn't sure what the driver was doing. Initially I thought they were distracted, when they first stopped in front of me I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought perhaps they'd stalled after braking so hard (admittidly as part of some pretty rubbish driving). It was only when they pulled to the right to block my path at the second stop that I was certain they were doing it deliberately. At that point theoretically some hand gestures would have been in order but I was focussing more on getting away from the bloke. I think he actually stopped the second time because the first hadn't worked and he thought he'd give it another go! Who knows.
Very typical driving from a RR, not a brain cell between them.
The traffic was folding in one car on the left one car on the right one car on the left etc... he tried to push it to two cars on the right. You really didn't make that all that clear.
He was just annoyed at you for mounting your dash cam upside down. Good to see some consequences for his actions.
I call this type of driver a 'one-car' as they like to risk it all to get one car ahead. If you say it fast enough it's satisfying to shout "you complete and utter one-car" at them.
LOL! Perhaps that's what triggered him- never thought of that :D If so I expect he was really annoyed when he spotted the datestamp was wrong just to make things even worse!
Thinking he’s it in his £8 grand car 😂
Is that the annual insurance? 😀
Typical Range Rover driver
Licence, not license.
Very true for this side of the pond- thanks for pointing out.
I think they have a false superiority complex like they deserve to be let in (probably just annoyed thay their monthly payments are huge and the car is unreliable heap haha)
Cammer handled that really well. My only criticism is that you didn't back off sooner at the merge when the range rover was coming through
In retrospect sure. At the time I hadn't twigged the driver had driven through a right turn filter (IE that it was very deliberate bit of driving) and thought they just hadn't realised the lanes were merging. Personally if I did that and screwed up I would have just slowed, indicated and pulled in behind. Partially to allow a merge-in-turn / zipper but also so that (by virtue of slowing) I wasn't charging towards oncoming vehicles. So I when I saw them alongside I was half expecting them to do that. I was worried if we both slowed it would have made a bad situation worse- and I couldn't pull further left to give more room as there wasn't any. In retrospect it's obvious he was just barging his way through- had I known this I would have pulled back and let him push in. In fact even when he stopped and remained stationary half way up the road I wondered if he'd stalled the car due to braking so hard. It was only when he pulled right to block my path that I knew for sure he was doing it all deliberately. You know that thing when you're walking down the pavement towards someone and you both notice you're going to walk into each other- you move towards the kerb at the same time as you do then they go the other way at the same time as you do and you end up walking into each other anyway? My expectation with this driver is that they'd realise their error and sort it out and if I started trying to accomodate their error I'd make it worse and I would be better holding relative station. My error was assuming them being next to me and driving against oncoming traffic was a simple mistake!!!!
I live 400m from where the 2 lanes on the A406 flyover merge into one lane after the lights at the junction. You did exactly what I would have done as you were immediately behind the white range rover. Glad you took this to court, well done. Before the cycle lane was installed it was 2 lanes going all the way up to the intersection where he tried to block you as the lights changed to red. He'll think again before he tries this move next time.

Mr range rover a total w****r 😂😂😂
It's surprising what people think happened when they were driving while pi55ed. _The stories they tell in court when trying to remember exactly what was supposed to have happened._ ;-))...
This happens when it's two lanes into one, see it all the time, ONE of you has to relent, how about we ALL make it a NON event !!
Amusingly in court the driver said he had priority as he was coming from the right. Which apart from really only being relevant to roundabouts would have amazing consequences if that were the rule. Can you imagine how that would work on the motorway when there's a road closure, the "left hand" lane would become a car park as they were obliged to permanently give way to vehicles from the right! This was a situation created by the Range Rover in which I had limited capacity to accommodate his dangerous driving. Perhaps I should have consider just how dangerous and inconsiderate some other drivers are prepared to be but I (perhaps foolishly) assumed the driver had just failed to notice what was going on up ahead (IE the lanes merging) and would rapidly resolve the situation resulting from their own mistake. I was expecting a logical, sensible driver to slow, indicate and pull into the gap behind and I was worried that if I started slowing etc it would actually make things worse and that it was therefore better to hold relative station and let the RR sort it out. I wasn't expecting them to be hell-bent on getting in front, resulting in them driving against oncoming traffic! In retrospect, in light of what subsequently happened, it's clear that they were never going to do this and that it was likely far from a mistake.
Yeh, everyone who know him now knows exactly who you both are!
That sounds very much like a threat.

You could easily have just let him in but you didn't and in fact you accelerated to make a point. You them clearly revelled in the argument as evidenced by yours comments on the camera.. Your not as blameless as you profess
What planet are you living on? I accelerated in the (perhaps foolish) expectation that he had turned up alongside me inadvertently and would drop behind me (in a manner compatible with a considerate driver). I was concerned if I slowed we'd be just charging alongside each other towards oncoming vehicles. Victim shaming much? I think you're projecting 20/30ish angst onto me. I've been on this planet over half a century, the only thing I care about is people not being killed by idiots driving like complete and utter twonks. When he first stopped in front of me I was, perhaps naively, under the impression that perhaps he'd stalled his car and prior was just somewhat distracted. It was only at the lights when he made clear it was 100% deliberate that I finally decided he was being a complete 'stain. I absolutely get that from viewing the video you could conclude that I was deliberately "punishing the punisher" however I can categorically confirm that wasn't the case. That kind of egotistical testosterone-ridden BS left my system (for better or worse) quite some time ago. So yes, I can see why you conclude what you conclude however I can equally confirm it's incorrect. TBH I don't need to "make a point", I don't have some massive insecurity complex resulting in a constant need to big up my dwindling self-worth. Which is probably why I don't drive a Rage Rover :D
The range rover driver is obviously a prick etc but that could all have been avoided if you had just let him have his way, even though it goes against the grain.. You never know who your dealing with or how they are going to react, it could have ended with violence and deadly weapons being used against you.
Yes, it's true. At the time I must admit I was a bit slow on the uptake and just wasn't entirely sure what the driver was doing when he appeared alongside. The subsequent driving made it obvious that it wasn't just careless driving (which is what I was initially thinking). Even when he stopped in front of me the first time I was initially wondering if he's stalled the engine after braking so hard. But I do agree, sometimes it's just not worth it- some people are just looking for a fight and driving aggressively could be a sign of that.
10 Bob millionaire
Before the hate, the RR is totally in the wrong however the cammer has no control over tue RR but they do their own vehicle. Not sure if its the camera but it looks like the cammer is too close to the back of the RR to be able to react which reduces the options open to you. There is no benefit to being close behind the vehicle in front
He’s too close because the guy forces his way in front and then brake checks him. Then there’s a whole section when cammer is no where near him until he meets him again at the lights. His driving distance isn’t a problem. I am not sure what video you watched?
Er, the bit where the RR stops but the cammers let's their car keep rolling forwards. It's where the RR has stopped at the greed lights. Instead of staying back from what is clearly gonna be a confrontation video, they insist on rolling forwards and staying close to the RR
Range Rover = Small Pee Pee right?
thankfully none of the Rage Rover drivers have proven that commonly held belief either way!
