Right away, you dont NEED to stop in the middle of the road to let someone uturning in. They have to wait for right-of-way. Doing this causes accidents cuz the right lane cant see through your car and just KNOW you stopped like an idiot for a vehicle to uturn in. Unbeleivable.
If you want to stop for them, do it after making sure all lanes have stopped traffic or are clear

@@HowManyHintsDoYouNeed An ambulance is a hell of a lot easier to see/hear than some dumbass trying to cut across traffic because they're impatient, and the ambulance is going to actually stop and make sure the road is clear before proceeding.
Don't let normal cars do this. It causes so many accidents.

@@megaaggron9778 Dude that's just flat-out wrong. 1 ton is 2000 LBS. A Mazda Miata, the lightest mass-market car you can buy new, is 2300 LBS. A modern Honda Civic is 2900 LBS, and that's on the lightest end of the family car spectrum. If we're talking light trucks and SUVs, which is the vast majority of the modern car market in the US and Canada, you'd be hard-pressed to buy something that weighs under 4000 LBS.

I know exactly where this store is located as I live in the same town. The other driver likely didn’t see the cammer. The road dips for the driver heading East while there’s a slight incline coming off a sharp turn for the cammer.
That is amusing. Probably had a date lined up for the night and discovered something was missing. It was the only nearby place to get it. Who knows what it could have been. The mind of the driver was definitely not on driving safely.

Defensive driving suggests you wait 4 seconds after a green light in case anyone tries to run a red. I think he put on the timer to see if either the driver was just being unreasonable, or was not paying attention.
I am familiar with this off ramp, it is really poorly laid out and badly marked, with a lot of non-locals visiting the area. This guys reaction is horrendous. The red car could have behaved better yes, but it was really obvious they were lost and trying to get to the mall and the person with the camera was making the situation 100x worse than it needed to be.

Right and wrong doesn't even play into this one, dealing with insurance can be a pain. I was 100% not at fault and my bike is still not being fixed by other parties insurance ant we are three weeks past the incident. Play it safe and keep comfy.

On your last point about fighting the other party's insurance, that's why it's really worth it to carry full coverage if you can afford it. Just file with your insurance and let their lawyers deal with the lawyers for the other insurance. You'll have to pay your deductible, but you'll get it back if they can subrogate the claim

0:48 Hard to tell what caused this collision. The Merc in the left lane appears to have either hydroplaned (would be my guess) or thought they needed to be in the right lane. Cause of accident would likely be too fast for conditions.
It's not hard at all, unsafe speed for the conditions...as show right of the beginning, 69.4 mph in the rain.
when it was dumping like that last week i was doing 60 tops, usually low 50s. you don't drive for the current conditions, but the worst that you have a good chance of hitting, and hitting a deep puddle on a day like that is almost guaranteed.
Same here on Friday in the uk we had flood warnings & i was doing 50-55mph on 60mph roads & 60-65mph on 70mph roads. It’s called using common sense & tailoring your speed for the weather conditions.
From the larger spurts of water being kicked up, there's clearly some puddling on the roadway. Sticking to "normal" freeway speeds in those conditions is just asking to hydroplane.

7:40 I usually like to give drivers the benefit of the doubt, but when there's lights flashing, there are sirens flaring too. The driver was probably aware that an emergency vehicle was nearby, but either didn't know what to do or didn't think they had a responsibility to stay out of the way.

I never try crossing a 4 lane. It's an accident waiting to happen. I go the one or two blocks out of the way to use a traffic light to get across, then only after looking for red light runners.

70% of all these CZcams crash compilation videos are people refusing to drive the speed of traffic, that means when you see 2 lanes of cars piled up for a mile, you shouldn't be racing by in the slow lane at 45mph even if that's the speed limit.
A few months ago I had a scary moment that almost lead to a massive accident. So I was on a divided highway and was in the right lane behind this semi. Well a dump truck in the left lane far ahead of him is turning left to cross the divided highway. As the dump truck is doing that the semi literally floats and turns into the left lane, cutting traffic off, then almost hits the dump truck, pulls back and almost swerves out of control. I had slowed from 70 to 40 thinking the semi was going to flip over and I was going to have to drive into the ditch to avoid slamming into him.
Truckers are idiots who think they own the road and won't hesitate to run you into oncoming traffic so they can get to their destination on time. Truckers are killers.

The 101 SF accident was probably a first rain situation. The roads collect oil all summer which rises to the top in the first rain.The oil eventually floats off into the gutter with the water. 101 is often stop and go traffic with cars overheating and spewing oil from the whole length of the drive-train onto the freeways all summer.
I feel like a lot of people were never taught to look through the windows of other cars to see traffic moving through them.

Whoa! That pickup driver at 1:23 took 3 seconds to react to a car pulling out in front of him, counting from when the car began to enter the intersection. 2 seconds if you count from when the car was fully in front of him.
That’s why, if I absolutely have to make a u-turn, I do it when there are no oncoming cars approaching.

That crash at 0:45 is due to driving too fast through the water on the road, causing hydroplaning and loss of control. Driver must always be in control of their vehicle. NEVER jam on your brakes when going through water. Guaranteed spin.

That 101 North accident near SFO airport seemed to be a case of the middle lane car hiding in the B-pillar of the Mercedes. This then allowed him to think he was clear whenever he realized he possibly was about to miss his exit. There was no sign of debris in the far left lane.
