I remember hearing a story about a half black, half Japanese woman won Miss Japan, and people were outraged because she didn't "fit the description of Japanese beauty." The xenophobia and racism in Japan is extremely disturbing
Same in my country. Lately there's been a huge problem with a store, something like Walmart, that put one black model into their weekly catalogue of products in sale. People went completely crazy about this, calling for boycott of that store, saying they're trying to push immigrants into our country by showing a black man etc. 🙄
Yeah its been a problem for a long time. My grandmother refused to meet me because i am mixed, despite her own kids being mixed🙄
Ah yes, come for the mannequins stay for the xenophobia
I mean, it's not much better in America either unfortunately. While most people had balanced criticisms of a person of color playing Ariel in little mermaid instead of allowing stories from creators and cultures of people of colors, there was also a lot of unfettered and unhinged levels of racism about it. And this happens every time a character is casted as a person of color who wasn't explicitly meant to be. Racism is bad everywhere, and a lot of political figures all over are very good at weaponizing racism for their gain and protection.
Edit: after listening to the story, yes, it's definitely worse in Japan, I didn't mean to minimize that. I simply mean, that it still exists here, it's just less overt, most of the time. It's a really unfortunate aspect of humanity. One that is unnecessary. I can only hope we out grow it as a species but....
In Japan, there are Koreans who were born there for generations but are not considered Japanese citizens. They are considered permanent foreign visitors.
Is it just me or is the balloon story actually really cute? Since the girl is genuinely remorseful enough to even remember it after all this time, I see no issue. I ship it.
And apparently there aren’t hard feelings now. So I hope their relationship works out
@@ked49 That's awesome
I choose to believe that they will get married and have lots of babies and balloons and live happily ever after.

The pretend married guy is an anti-hero. His methods are dubious, but he gets results that ultimately benefits people
Anti heroes are the best kind of hero tbh.
Women are attracted to men who are already taken, simple as that. Women who see men as taken are the ones worth having, nothing more and nothing less.

OP should have pretended to be widowed after that to really confuse the girl.
It is easier to get records of death than records of marriges in some places, idk if that would last enough to have a second date, this aproach also contributes to the dating pool, let him keep going
Hes not any kind of hero, hes a disgusting manipulative creep. Pretending to be married so you can get laid is suuuper manipulative and toxic regardless of who he is doing it with. What he is doing is tantamount to rape and hes just a few steps away from being a serial rapist.
Honestly when I heard this story it reminded me of the beginning of just go with it 😂😂😂 “The power of the wedding ring”
Last story: "I'm moving to the USA, where black people are treated better" sure does say something about Japan. 😬
Japanese people aren't very open to foreigners. And if you even have a hint of being foreign you are basically a stain they want to get rid of. Only a few circumstances are there and you have to either be in a very progressive area or be famous.
It’s actually so crazy
I was thinking the same thing. Im black and in US and wanted to live in Japan and have studied the language, but that story makes me leery tho i know they have a black population there.
@@yazajagthat's because there's an illusion that the US is the most racist country. It's far from it compared to others.
@@yazajag The Japanese are notoriously racist, just ask Koreans about certain laws in Japan. I have Japanese cousins that are half white (my uncle's side) and they were/are always discriminated against. Slurs and physical bullying were the norm growing up. Even my uncle was insulted to his face (he learned Japanese) regularly by his wife's family.
There are updates to the first story. According to OP they lived together and they agreed he'd work and she wouldn't. She would do all the chores. She got mad he didn't clean the cat littler.
Not a smart move to rob the guy you depend on financially.
If she… sold the car over a cat litter fight… then… got upset that he got upset and left her….. nvm I shouldn’t reason w crazy
Jesus, she sold his truck over a dirty litterbox?!

Third?
5th story my guy
@@michaeljenkins178 thank you
@@michaeljenkins178don't you mean 4th?
I have heard of this. Very sad. In Japan they are not ethnically diverse like in America either so people like OP often don't have someone to turn to, someone who understands what they are going through, and doesn't make up enough of the population to prompt any kind of immediate change in the country as far as this racism. It is really upsetting.
That last section on racism is sadly not an uncommon story.
I worked with a guy from Okinawa whose father was a foreigner. Because his father was a deadbeat US Marine who bailed on his mom after his birth, he had automatic US citizenship, but he was raised by his mom's family in Japan. That dude had absolute contempt for non-japanese people, and general disdain for Americans in particular. Which was kind of ironic, considering we were both in the military at the time, working in Korea.
Japan and Korea are both very homogenous societies, and some of the more "traditional" members of their society have some very unpleasant views.
Not only that, they are hugely ableist as well. Any kind of mental or physical disability, they view it with disdain and still try to keep family members like that cooped up at home or inside institutions, where no-one can see them.
There's next to no diversity in Asian countries. People who b17ch about it being a problem in the USA really need to tour Asia.
iirc a Filipino actor that played as a contestant for Squid Game is mistreated during his tenure there
I have faith that the newer younger generations will help destroy this problem.
Even Sam Okyere, the most famous black man in Korea ( he speaks fluent Korean ), has talked about it, racism in Korea..
The only way to solve is to be racist to the Japanese and Korean people in the US since some move here and still carry that racist view.
Story 2: if they get married, I expect tons of those balloons as decor.
Girlfriend: **Sells truck for $400 over a petty argument**
**Gets charged with grand theft auto and fined $5000**
"That's not very cash money of you."
OP didnt even need to pay to get it back, just reported to police as stolen and told them where it was taken. OP would have then got it back free of charge, and she would have had to pay the money back and still faced the charges.
What's funnier is that a 1974 Ford F100 goes for around $19,000, or is above that. Those things are almost as expensive as a new car, and OP's might have been worth even more.
She clearly has no care about her partner's things, and just did it to hurt OP.
@@SkyEcho751 better make it 40k. If it was pristine, as OP said.
@@marcus_w0 So she sold it for 1/100th of the price it would theoretically be worth. Man that was dumb.
@@SkyEcho751 oh interesting, goes for only a bit more overseas in Germany ^.^
Which is usually a pretty good indicator that this value isn't inflated.
Also imagine how mad that dealer must have been when he found out it was stolen ^^
At least he got the money back so he didn't lose anything.
Bet he thought he got the deal of a lifetime until he found out.
Story 1: I'm sorry, she's sold your car because she wants you to help with the pets more? That is such a ridiculous over reaction that it sounds like she needs psychological help. No one should have that kind of reaction to a simple household dispute, I would tell her family that if they don't stop harassing you you will report them too, lights out this entirely because there is no way to normalize what she did.
I remember the argument was over cleaning the litter box that did her over
Yeah, you sell my stuff, I am seriously prosecuting you. You have just stolen from me. Your crazy family and crazy friends start berating me because I now won't see you? Now we have an even bigger problem.
Side note: I had no idea that “once” and “wants” were homophones until reading this comment. Usually homophones are at least spelled similarly. English, man, wtf. 😅
@@Tustin2121 my brain quickly read that as homophobe and it backtracked to make sure I was reading it wrong 😅
Remember when an irrational decision didn't mean someone needed psychological help?
She was bent on pissing OP off, so she did the thing that would ultimately piss him off. She's just a bitch. There's nothing psychological about it.
If I’m going to guess for the crush story, I almost feel like it’s an ego thing. That having people attracted to him just makes him feel good. So not not inherently well meaning but maybe not super malicious just egocentric.
I think that's still a generous interpretation. I've been that sister and it seems to me that he was trying to make something happen with her while they were alone and was surprised that she didn't actually like him. So yeah, maybe he did like the idea that she was attracted to him but there was no innocent reason for him to bring it up to her, while alone after making weird sexual comments.
@@anonimus8375um on that story OP os a guy... not a girl.
Agreed. Hes also likely dealing with some internalized bi-sexuality that he doesnt know how to deal with.
To the last story, it's not the first time hearing about how cruel kids in Japan could be and teachers do not react. On other yt site about Japan I've heard that kids can leave a nasty comments on school bench where hated kid is sitting, where mostly it's just slurs and saying that such kid should just kill himself/herself, also to make death treats more seriously, kids are leaving on bench a flowers that you are putting on the graves.
The best response to that is to take the flowers, make a circlet and walk around with it on your head. I am the queen of flowers 🥳
Don't you just love culture?
When you're in love with your girlfriend's brother but have no self-awareness: "you're in love with ME! I can FEEL it!"
On the first story: wouldn’t the junkyard owners be in trouble too for buying a vehicle from someone other than the vehicle owner?
That just seems like they’re open to accepting stolen cars if they’re going to buy vehicles from someone that’s not on the title.
Probably why he managed to buy it back for the same price
@@shadeymcbones6707 Yeah, and then he can take his ex to small claims court to get his $400 back.
The Japan story really made me appreciate my life. I’m a Japanese African American that lives in America and I’m glad I do. I still had to endure a little racism at my Japanese preschool though.
Black/Asian, that's a sexy mix 👍
Story 2: At least it ended well and there were no more hard feelings, but damn was it pretty funny. I hope they get a bigger heart balloon with those spots
That is great to hear.
I'm disappointed in the Mother, how the f*ck you gonna do it with a black man but still be disappointed that your child has black features
She's an idiot so her idiot self doesn't know basic genetics. The chances of op coming out full japanese featured, is extraordinarily slim. There are cases of this happening such as twins one black and the other a red head white and the parents were black. Another where a Hispanic couple had a blonde hair, blue eyed baby girl. It happens though very rare. It's dormant genetics from past relatives. So within these families past, someone banged or married a white dude/lady a few generations ago and it finally popped up again. 😅 Genetics are weird.
Like, lady, this whole operation was your idea, if anyone's to blame, it's you

Story number 2: "You stole my balloon so I stole your heart."
The best revenge is a life well lived. Never specified you had to live it without them.
yeah after living in japan for a year i can attest that racism is very present, theres a lot of good ppl dont get me wrong, but you do see it often, got threathened by a guy with shovel once when i just asked for directions to a nearby restaurant...
The Japan story. This is why when I hear people say the US is the most racist place on earth, it indicates to me that they haven’t traveled much or have much world experience. Also where is the kids dad?
I think there is an answer, that does meet a certain racist stereotype (unless the father does not know about his child)
@MrDeflador could have been a tourist and had a fling and due to idiotic decisions he didn't use protection. Then he left and never got informed.
@C.G.Gaster from my understanding, there are very few non national Japanese who permanently live in Japan, but there are a number US military bases. So odds are the father was either a tourist or US soldier.
It's the gun laws mixed in with the racism that makes the U.S. one of the most dangerous places for POC especially for black people.
No one says the us is the most racist place on earth they just say that racism is a problem in America
The “crush” story sounds like a real crush story, but Mike is crushing on OP instead of the other way around like he convinced himself
i honestly think that he is just one of those people who believe anyone who spend time with them are automatically in love with them, not narcissistic but egocentric
@@dinlupus3196 he didn’t even spend time with him, he spent time with his sister and since he is her husband obviously he is going to be there too
@@TsukiKageTora even more egocentric, honestly, maybe he has a crush on op AND thinks op has a crush on him
That condom joke definitely caught me by surprise, keep up the same energy Rslash !!!
Something else to mention about Japan: About 95-99% of the people in Japan are ethnically Japanese. The odds of a Japanese person living in Japan outside the tourist traps or Tokyo/Osaka seeing anyone in real life of a different ethnicity is near zero. It isn’t a melting pot like other countries, and many people simply do not have the tools or concepts to handle it. Some try to be helpful, some are blatantly xenophobic, but growing up there, in a society that places such a high value on conformity and homogeneity while having a distinctive marker of difference that you can’t hide is terrible. You’re constantly shoehorned into stereotypes of stereotypes, and by most people will always be seen as an outsider.
I’m so sorry OP had to go through this, especially as someone who got the complete opposite view of Japan when I stayed overseas. A society and culture is never as simple as what media makes it out to be.
First Story: She literally stole OP's car and sold it over a childish arguement and her and her family are insulting OP? OP should press charges AND sue. Ok I’m goad to hear she got some form of punishment for that
Second Story: Wow what are the odds of meeting the girl who stole the balloon that was precious to OP. I hope OP makes an update after they become a thing telling the reaction after he told her. That ending was wholesome, I honestly wished OP was able to go with his original plan to reveal the truth but this was satisfying
Third Story: Um, I don’t even know what to say about this one honestly. I guess its kinda scummy to pretend to be married for casual hookups but whatever works I guess. I do agree with Rslash though because OP is tricking horrible people that are willing to engage in affairs with married people
Fourth Story: Either Mike is narcassitic, has a big ass ego, delusional, or all of the above. Those 4 reasons he listed make no sense to be seen as OP being in love with him. What if OP enjoys hanging out with his sister? What if OP just don’t want to bring his boyfriend around? Maybe OP chose to live there instead of dorms because OP benefits from that arrangement better? What if OP's not so accepting relatives were at the wedding? All of those examples have logical reasons than the reason Mike is assuming. I’m glad Diana isn’t blaming OP or trying to say OP is lying and stuff like that. Hopefully we get an update after this
Fifth Story: Wow, OP's mom is pure scum. If she felt that way about her own child why did she sleep with a black man? As a black man myself, I feel offended on OP's behalf because what they went through is so messed up
The guy in the third story is the hero that we need, but not the one we deserve
who did she find or was she just bullshitting? if she did 'find' someone I'm worried that some poor guy is about to have a very angry wife for no reason, how would you even defend against that? how do you prove your NOT cheating? no texts? deleted/second phone.
Hes not a hero, hes a disguating creep. What hes doing is super toxic and tantamount to rape. Really its only a few steps off from using rohipnol to drug women.
@@myopinion69420I'm certain she's just bullshiting, people who knowingly choose to be "the other woman/man" are often manipulative liars, shocking I know.
Someone I used to be friends with had a similar parental issue as the racist Japanese story. He was the only son of a Chinese woman and a native American man. Both wanted just casual sex, but she ended up pregnant and she kept it despite hating that she was having a child with a native man, likely due to religious reasons. He met his father only a few times, and his mother treated him as if he didn't exist. When I knew him, she left back to China without telling him why she left or anything. He was left completely alone. Eventually he finds out she went back to be treated for a disease, and had died never saying a word to him about it.
This man unfortunately has a bit of a bad ending. In his loneliness he sought similar people online and found an extremely racist and extremist online group. He became a literal nazi, owning tons of Nazi propaganda, stockpiled guns, made threats to the government, nearly killed his baby mama, and fled to a remote part of the country.
Last story. Japan is well known for being extremely racist. Discrimination is pretty standard to them and they don't seem to know it's an issue. It's not in a blatant hateful way like in the US. They just don't like anything that stands out from the crowd. They think it's bad to be different or to think for yourself. It's a very different culture.
"The nail that sticks out the most gets hammered the hardest" is a really great metaphor for Japanese culture. The love for uniformity leaves little room for "outsiders" (anyone different) to blend in.
Given that Koreans born in Japan need special paperwork to live in Japan, I would say it can be pretty blatant.
"Even my mom was disappointed that I wasn't fully Japanese." Uh... lady... we need to have a talk about that. See, what goes between your legs, must come out, and eventually... You might end up with something else coming out to. If the dad was not Japanese, or you are not Japenese... your kid is not going to be "Fully Japanese" with only one Japanese parent.
I'm trying so hard to wrap my head around what logic this woman must have had... like how? 😅
She has a head, but No working braincells?
Maybe she was hoping for her child to be passing or something 🤷
Unless the dad has Viltrumite genes
Last story: we in the West often forget that cultures elsewhere aren't like ours. We then think that what we think is racist here really isn't in the context of the entire world. The op came here to escape the actual racism they experienced in Japan... food for thought.
Japan Story: They love tourists, but tolerate foreingers, and dislike immigrants.
Unfortunately, this isn't uncommon. Japan has made an effort to share their culture with the world, but when people actually wanted to start living there, they don't like it, even if they won't say it to your face. It sucks.
I'm glad the last poster is doing better and has people that care about them now
Story 1: a cool fact about the story thanks to Redditor op got his car back and a cool think about this story is that this story got so popular it got its own news article
OP didnt have to pay to get it back however, could have reported it stolen and told the police where it was sold to by the girlfriend and let her be up for paying them back
@@Ryanthusar they explained in the updates they did that did end up paying back the 400 dollars to get the car but at least the got the car back and when they did report their ex to the police she got a felony 1 offensive charge for grand theft auto
The balloon one is very similar to something that happened to me its hilarious. Basically there was this boy in my kindergarten that cut my hair with my scissors and made me cry and made my mom livid. Fast forward to my first year of marriage with my husband and we find out we were in the same kindergarten class. He starts talking about a time he cut this girls hair and I immediately stopped him and asked him if the scissors were purple with green dots on them and he just stares at me and asks how the hell I knew that. I smacked him in the arm and shouted "that was ME you asshole!" while laughing. My mom even said joked that he owed her $10 for the haircut I had to get back then, and I'll never let him forget it lmao we've been married for 14 years now
This is probably the first Rslash story that got to my levels of holding a grudge where boy meets girl except she's a balloon thief. And the way he just goes about torturing her because its so funny because of how petty it is kinda wholesome and probubly makes for a far more entertaining spin off of "How I met your mother."
Last story: I’ve heard the same about kids with one white parent who have lived in Japan their ENTIRE life having a similar experience at school.
For the last story, my wife is Japanese and I am white. I lived in the Tokyo area, worked with JASDF (Japanese Air Force) and never felt what OP saw, but I could see it happening. When riding in Japan further away from Tokyo I would often get stared at by younger children. It wasn’t something that bothered me but being Japan is a very homogeneous society and never having to deal with different races until recently (historically speaking) I can imagine they really have never confronted this issue in society. It has only been recently Japanese have started to come to the realization that the work gaijin (outside person or the more common term foreigner) can be seen as derogatory. I’m sorry OP went through this.
Yep, I’m a white person living in Japan and I get a lot of little kids staring at me, particularly outside of Tokyo. My 13 month old son (who is actually a quarter Japanese but looks pretty WASPy) is basically a side-show attraction wherever we go, though it’s thankfully mostly people fawning over him for being adorable.
“Married” guy is honestly the perfect anti-hero, he’s only fooling bad people. I hope he goads that woman on like “go on, tell my wife” just to see what happens.
That last one is heartbreaking. I mean, I, unfortunately, am not surprised either, though. It's a problem that seems to be all over Asia. Just look at how the Little Mermaid live action remake is doing in China. And the experiences of my classmates in South Korea on an exchange program. One literally got told that a store owner would sell nothing to any of them until the black one leaves.
For all of Japan's good traits, that is certainly not one of them.
Yep. I’ve lived in South Korea and Taiwan. The things people say! 😳
Asian in general have a white supremacist mindset
In high school, we had a Japanese exchange student who refused to eat at one of the few Japanese restaurants in our podunk city because there were Chinese people working there.
My (very white) friend went to Japan to travel and visit a friend, and when they were sitting down at McDonalds, some random Japanese guy told her friend to tell his white whore to move so he could plug his phone at the charging station in front of her.
My friend speaks enough Japanese to get by, and told him off. Miraculously, he managed to find another charging station.

@@BrooklyKnight Oh, that’s sad to hear. I’ve only heard from my white, Latino, and middle eastern friends that there wasn’t much issue. Especially in the cities.
That sucks that some places can’t just be welcoming of everyone.
I don’t know why I’m surprised, though. My own family is pretty racist. My white mom married a Latino guy, yet my mom is super racist towards Latinos (and everyone else). But her husband is “one of the good ones” because he “acts white” and puts up with her racist comments.
And of course she insists that she’s not racist simply because she’s married to a Mexican guy. But then she’ll say the most racist shit imaginable. Shit that makes my racist uncle look at her sideways.
Back when I was still in contact with her, I used to refuse to take her to touristy parts of my city because I didn’t want her making ugly comments or treating someone rudely and causing someone to think that we’re all ignorant jerks like her.
There’s so many cities that have a reputation (mine included, unfortunately) for racism and it’s so sad.

The last post make me sad. When I was a 4N HS student in the US I had a classmate that was "black as coal" and with a Japanese parent. She was such a joy and a straight up awesome person to be around. She would light up the darkest night and always try and comfort you if you needed it. I hope you are doing well Whitnee
As a kid i believed that only we Germans were this racist!
Whan i learned as an young adult that this isn't so...all nations are kind of racist...i fell into a depression!😢
It really is

When I was a kid my parents rented out the summer cabin. An older German and his wife came a lot (like 2X4 weeks per year). He was afraid that we disliked Germans due to WW2 (we are Danes for content). So he always had a 12X500g Nutella bribe with him, twice a year, for over a decade. We never could bear to tell him that we don’t eat Nutella 🙈
But we gladly gave away Nutella, I just hope that the ones WE gave the Nutella to actually used it LOL.
honestly the ending of the balloon story was soo wholesome
edit to add: the third story is pretty much a beginning to one of Adam Sandler's movies
Story 3: obviously Mike is bi-curious and wants to try his BIL and keeps fishing for it
This exactly.
But why would you want to experiment your sexuality with your brother in law?
@@abi_cat28easier access than trying to go around and pick up someone covertly. OP is already constantly hanging around and lived with them for a time so it would be pretty easy to cover up that affair. And maybe OP has some strong physical resemblance to his sister so the BIL can maybe justify it in his head more that "it's not really gay if he looks like my wife!"
The balloon story is so adorable, i hope it works out for them :)
7:26 THIS WAS LITERALLY THE PLOT OF AN ADAM SANDLER MOVIE 😆
See my joke would have been "Well you stole my balloon, and now you've stolen my heart" 🤣
I need an update on the brother in law story
Same. Just checked. Nothing new.

What quality of girls is he picking up by finding chicks and pretending to be married?
Doesn't really seem like the kind of guy that cares about the quality of the women he picks up LOL
The kind you don't really feel bad for when you dump them
@@Ohwhale79 lmao
Story 3: In cases like that, I always want to see what'll happen when OP calls the bluff. Like, does she really think she knows who his wife is? If she does, what made her think that? If she does, I would love to be a fly on the wall when she confronted "his wife" about his "infidelity."
What I want to know is if in the third story OPs mom was married to his father, he didn’t mention if she was or wasn’t , because if she was her racism doesn’t make sense, and what else did she expect after marrying him and having a child with him?
To the second story: Not all heroes wear capes, some wear wedding rings.
I gotta say, I really appreciate when RSlash calls himself put in videos and openly corrects himself, with apologies. As a privileged white person, this really really helps me re-evaluate the thinking I've grown up with and change my world view.
Thank you RSlash!
3rd story is literally an adam sandler movie. "Just Go With It"
My dad is currently the owner of his grandfather's old Dakota, one day it'll be mine, it ain't pristine like his but it's special and it's important, it'll be mine eventually and if someone did away with it for ANY reason that wasn't me telling them too, oh boy. They would be having nightmares for the rest of their existence.
The balloon story was adorable.
Thanks r/slash, I haven’t been able to sleep yet, but at least I can get a good start to today
Have a good day dude, cute cat profile pic.
The culture in Japan needs a SERIOUS change. The people are aging and dying out, people are LITERALLY FLEEING the country just flat out abandoning their homes. The workers are being worked to death, women are treated less, and of course racism and homophobia are rampant.
I hope those two stay together that balloon story is an amazing "how I met your mother" story lol
i've watched this 27 times already as it released 3 minutes ago and I can confirm this is a good video!

Story 5: people all over the world see relationships with Black people as risqué and exciting, not meaningful and something that comes with emotional connection. That’s how biracial children end up with racist parents. I’m speaking from at least a small degree of experience.
When I heard "that balloon kid" I thought we were about to hear from that kid whose family pretended he floated off in a balloon 😂
First story.... So ExGF thought she'd get away with Grand Theft Auto!? Salvage yard bought stolen goods, that's a crime. They could be charged, and should have given the truck back.
I wake up to Reddit Stories lol

2nd story is alternate universe Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
3rd story: he is an anti hero. Doing bad things for good reasons.

Dating home wreckers is a terrible idea, on the causal or not. They can't be trusted.
Gf in story 1 got what she deserved. Thank goodness for that honest junkyard dealer. He could have more than quadrupled his money on that truck, I'm sure.
Maybe he's scared of the consequences, junk yards and pawnshops are supposed to not buy stolen property
Brother in law: he is closeted
TLDR: Dabney needs to stop leaving out chunks of the stories to make himself look better/manipulate us/make OP look worse. He also needs to stop judging men harsher than women, always assuming the worst, and sharing the OP’s (or a commenter’s) words as his own. I’m really sick of it. He should probably apologize. Especially after already promising to fix some of these issues a couple months ago (right before his break).
Dabney, this is the second time in a WEEK that you have left out a significant amount of a story to push your own narrative. In the BIL crush story, the OP DISCUSSES the very thing you were wondering about in the update! I have NO IDEA why Hou left it out! He AGREES with your thinking! Genuinely, WHY did you leave out over half of the update? This isn’t even an AITA post! You left out the part that literally backs up your thinking! Did you just want it to be your idea instead of OP’s? Why? You literally, almost word for word, said OP’s words as if you were the one who came up with them. I hesitate to say it’s plagiarizing, but it’s pretty shitty to do that…
As a long-time fan, like, before iiluminaughtii made those allegations against you for no reason long time fan, I just want to know WHY you are doing this? It’s really hard to keep listening when you are constantly doing manipulative things like omitting significant chunks of the OP’s story or flat out lying about what they said. I’ve only recently started reading the stories on Reddit as well, so now I’m also concerned you’ve been doing this for longer than I thought… you don’t have to do that to seem better than the bad guy in whatever story you are reading, it’s actually better if you read the full story and ACTUALLY give YOUR opinion on it. Not an opinion you stole from the post, not changing the story to fit YOUR narrative. Why do you even feel the need to do that? For clout? To feel like you are better than other people? To hide bad thing about yourself? Whatever the case is, this REALLY doesn’t look good, Dabney. MAYBE, you have other people find the stories for you and you just say that you find them, but I find that hard to believe, especially because in this story, the part you put off as your words was BEFORE the part you said was the only bit of the update. You also left out the fact that one of OP’s reasons for not having his boyfriend around is because his boyfriend lives in England, while he lives in the US. You may not see that as important, but EVERY part of a story should be shared, otherwise, you may start leaving out more and more of the story. Hey, that sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
I, and I’m sure some other fans, just want an explanation. For the previous story that was a REALLY bad example, since you left out OVER HALF of it, (you know, the husband bunker story!), I think the OP, and your fans, deserve a bit of an apology, as it was EXTREMELY manipulative to do what you did. (for anyone wondering, I explained all that he left out in a comment on that video, the video is called “r/AITA for letting my brother go homeless?” With a thumbnail that has a man screaming, saying “GIVE ME YOUR HOUSE”). I think we also deserve, at the VERY least, an explanation for WHY you do this. Are you a compulsive liar? I don’t think so. I just want a reason. If you think it’s making you look good, it REALLY isn’t.
I hate having to rant like this, but we can’t call you up on the phone and ask, so this is the only way I can think of to communicate that these are BIG issues to you. I am not a hater, if that’s why you don’t respond, I watch your videos almost every day, and I try to catch up if I do end up missing a couple. I’m also not the only one who sees these issues. On that video from six days ago, a LOT of people were commenting on the fact that you left over half of the husband bunker story out. Some of them were even saying that this happens almost every time the husband is the one who is posting, that you always judge them harsher, even if what they did is exactly the same or even not as bad as what a woman who posts a similar story says they did. I’m an afab non-binary person, so I get that men are usually seen as the bad guy, but GUYS CAN BE ABUSED BY WOMEN, too. WOMEN CAN BE MANIPULATIVE AND UNCARING, TOO! Sorry, I got a little off topic, but I think you, and the other fans who read this or even post their own similar comment get what I’m trying to say.
Thanks for reading if you did. I’m sorry it got so long, I’m really getting frustrated about this.
For what it’s worth, I find it helps in general to assume noble intent. He may have not seen the updates. It’s also just a story for the amusement of internet strangers. I’m not criticizing you here, just urging you to take a deep breath.
@@katherinezimmerman6997 I REALLY wish I could, but it just happens so often I finally had to say something. And unfortunately, he didn’t miss this update, the parts he left out were edited into the main post and he told us parts after the part he left out/said as his own words. I have to admit that this time it wasn’t super bad, I’m more upset that it’s happens multiple times in the last week. In the other video, which I’d suggest reading the comments, because I’m not the only one who noticed, it was pretty obvious that he purposely ignored/left out the updates and certain info to make the OP look bad and to make the story/question fit the narrative he wanted. I’ve noticed it before then, too, the last one was just the straw that broke the camel’s back, especially since he has previously apologized for similar behavior and promised to stop doing this.
@@TheBlondeGeniusGaming That’s fair; I was just trying to turn the temperature down since I worry sometimes that people get too worked up about this stuff. Your frustration is valid, though. Just make sure you’re taking care of your stress levels and not letting this get to you. 🙂
@@katherinezimmerman6997 thanks, I am trying, I appreciate your concern. It’s hard to see someone whose channel you’ve watched grow from under 100,000 subs to almost 2 million do things like this. Luckily, I do watch other channels, and I have a life offline, so I’m not stressed about it, more concerned about Dabney and his mental health and where his actions are taking the channel.

Technically the “pretend to be married” guy is doing nothing wrong here, if all he’s doing is just wearing a ring. THEY just assume it’s a wedding ring.
Oh my God everyone is an idiot. The brother-in-law is the one that has a crush on the little bro. How is this not extremely obvious?!?!?

Story 1: it’s not okay to only “work and rest”, I have no doubt OP was neglecting responsibilities at home. But ITS ABSOLUTELY NOT OKAY TO SELL SOMEONE’S TREASURED POSSESSION AS RETALIATION 😤 absolutely wild, one wrongdoing WELL outpaces the other in terms of cruelty and intent.
Yo, bullying in Japan is actually crazy and out of control on a real note. There's even a whole culture of acceptance about it that some people have been trying hard to change in recent years. Bullying is even a huge problem with adults in Japan, even ages 50+!
“Son I’m disappointed you’re not fully Japanese”
“Then why did you spread your legs for a black man?”
