The Aquitaine is, objectively speaking, definitely the most attractive watch from Christopher Ward so far. The sand coloured dial is simply exceptional. The hour markers look like the are filled with actual sand. And the sapphire bezel is absolutely gorgeous. I have been telling myself that four CW watches is enough, but clearly it isn’t.
Haha. Same here.
The sand dial one is nice, but apparently the legibility isn't the best.
What about the Concept 😍
I am so happy. These are fantastic and everything I wanted in a watch. I had been looking for so long for a Christopher Ward that I would like, the C60 was close, but this is absolutely perfect. Cannot wait to buy mine. Thank you CW for doing this, and making it accessible for the small wristed!
These watches look fantastic. And, yes, the Twin Flags logomark on the dial is just awesome. It's a great move.
I do wish they'd offer a no-date option for these.
Always good to hear from a truly wonderful CEO! Keep producing those lovely CW timepieces!
He is an absolute legend!
Happy to see C65 Aquitaine in beads of rice or Milanese bracelet option to compliment it's vintage look.
I totally agree, BOR would be a nice addition!
In a market filled with hype, buzzwords and self referencing brands, it’s refreshing to have a man like Mike France. The new logo is gorgeous! And the Aquitaine is really breath taking!
Agreed!
As a CW owner and big fan, this is an exciting development, certain it will look better in the metal...great interview, always good to hear Mike's thoughts...
Thanks Stuart, appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!
Damn - I recently bought a Sealander GMT in Hunter green. The Fifty Fathoms has always remained a grail, now they go and release the Aquitaine and I'm instantly smitten....Its a disease :)
The bronze COSC version is a stunner.
Some very nice welcomed changes! Nice
I own and love my c65 trident automatic, this appears to be a whole new level. Beautiful pieces. Great interview 👍
Thanks Mark!
Great interview Sam and thanks for all the insight Mike! I learned a lot from this video!
Yep Mike is always a great interview.
Fantastic episode, so much so I had to pull the trigger on a new Christopher Ward. Can't wait to see what they have coming out later this year.
Looking forward to hearing what you think on the live stream!
Mike Frances is the man! I’ve been a huge fan of Christopher Ward watches for many years and currently own 5 and love then all. My current favourite brands are as follows, Sinn, Nomos, Hamilton, CW and Oris.
Hello, I also live in Canada and I wanted to know if you had to pay some fees when you buy directly on their website. Thank you
@@ibrahimbenseck8871 yes you will need to pay duty and taxes. Better if you can find used from a Canadian. What are you looking for?
@@canadianwatchmonkey3992 Thank you, I’m planning to buy the new c65 bronze
@@ibrahimbenseck8871 nice choice. Make sure to take advantage of the $170 Voucher
@@canadianwatchmonkey3992 🙏
Great video, that is the best looking bronze diver I have seen so far. I am delighted the twin flags logo is on this dial as it looks fantastic. I was never a fan of the name being on there. Well done to their design team.
Your attorneys gave you good advice. Doing something which invites litigation that you are confident you will nonetheless win is not as wise as acting to avoid the litigation altogether. Good discussion. Good vid. Nice watch - especially the white dial with blue bezel. Keep at it!
Yep that was fascinating part of the interview, I may even slice it into a separate clip. Thanks for watching Mark.
The case of the Aquitaines looks to be directly related to my C65 Dartmouth! I have to say that even my Rolex wearing friends have stopped me and asked to handle my Dartmouth. The box sapphire and the fine fit of the case are truly stunning. The Aquitaine line are even more so! I may have to have yet another CW in the near future!
Hey Melvin, thanks for commenting. I agree, the quality of Christopher Ward watches is hard to capture even when I’m reviewing them in macro. They have a high quality feel that is hard to compare to in that price range.
Fantastic engaging interview Sam!!
Thanks Jon!
Christopher ward is a fantastic company and make excellent watches. After doing some research I ordered my first christopher ward watch and am excited to get it.
Couldn't agree more!
Sam great interview. Mike is a really great bloke. I have had the chance to talk to him at some length at there HQ. The watch will be in my collection the next time we visit them in Maidenhead. My wife is also hooked and wants the bronze version. As always great watches at great price's !!!!
Oh I would love to see their HQ, I go back to the UK for a visit soon, not sure if so can swing it or would have time!!
The more I look at it the more im falling for it the Blue and Cream is gorgeous
Fantastic interview. Thank you Sam
Thanks for watching Jeffrey?
@@CasualWatchReviews Why the question mark?
CW are the best brand out there. Design, build, customer service and price are just unbeatable
Just got mine and i ❤ it!
I recently bought a c60 Trident 600 and love the watch. I am still in the honeymoon stage but so fat so good. Great company!
Nice chat guys. Interesting new line. I think it’s time I order one and the C63 Sealander GMT to experience it in person. And keep the one I prefer.
Personally I like the Christopher Ward logo at 12 and I don’t really get the name bashing (maybe for the previous ones^^). But the funny part is that I’m sure those guys don’t mind having Patek Philippe on the dial 🙃
Thanks for watching! You want be disappointed with either
17:46 No names, no pack drill... I have never heard a civilian say that before lol.
I always love these interviews, Mr. France is always engaging.
Oh I missed that myself, well spotted! Thanks Kristian, glad you enjoyed it!
This Aquitaine is a real looker. Nicest CW I have seen, very interested in seeing one in person
Me also!
Great interview and insight. Not sure I get the mixed hate within the community towards Christopher ward name. Love the logo and great insight on the legal elements. They have some cracking watches and amazing prices. the sealander is amazing. And on my hit list for sure.
Hey Ryan, yep I was one who didn't mind the name on the dial at all!
Holding out for some sub 40mm watches with the flag logo on the front! Hope they stick with it - Love the Swiss made meets England designed meaning behind it besides the more discreet aesthetic.
I feel like CW could end up making the only watch I'll ever need saving me a pretty penny compared to what I'm currently considering but can't bring myself to buy.
Christopher Ward C65 Aquitaine is brill love the green one... cheers
Thanks Craig, yep the blue or the green for me! Hard choice
I prefer the previous hands of the C65 Sandburst Military, since the previous hour and minute hands harmony to the dial.
A few years ago i stumbled on the Christopher Ward Trident mk2 with a black face & blue bezel & i had to have one. Got one & two other CW watches but not that keen on the Christopher Ward legend on the left much prefer it at the normal 12 o'clock.
Hi Sam. Wonderful interview! I've not paid much attention to the brand; have to say the new one's a beaut though. I do like the blue/bronze one.
Interesting about the name vs logo story. I'm sure the twin flags will become part of their DNA.
Hey Tom, yes, as you know I'm a massive fan of what CW are doing. I can't think of a better value swiss watch in their price range.
Totally agree with Mike: I really like the logo at 9. Just the flags are OK but I like the logo at 9 too
Would like to know if CW will be attending any shows or meets in the Uk to give us a chance to see and handle these new watches as well as the existing range. Maybe some Redbar events ??
I can ask them Terry!
excellent upgrades . I have owned many of their watches .CW produce fantastic watches the value is superb . Liken the quality to oris but in general around 50% cheaper . In saying that there are things they do considerably better .Lume , bezel action , fine adjustment on bracelet to name but a few . You want a great sports watch around a grand don’t think you can do better . Personal preference I would have preferred 20 mil lugs but the is subjective it still appears fantastic.
Totally agree
I really hope they add all these new details into a reworked c60 trident pro
I'd buy a Sealander immediately if it was logo only on the dial. These Aquitaines are nice too. But the Sealander is a babe, and it's only ever been the name on the dial that's put me off. Thanks Sam, thanks Mike: engaging interview.
My sentiments exactly. I keep going back to the Sealander and having a look but the name is just too irritating. Hope they re-badge it.
I was concerned buying a sealander as my first CW watch online not having seen it in the flesh and reading everyone saying the same thing, but honestly when you look at product images online it looks far larger then in real life. I can guarentee you 110% that you are never going to be bothered by it once you actually wear the watch.
@@crankCINEMA I may hold you to that. I'm about to go for it I think. Thanks for the input. 👍🏻
@@tomclarke1848 it may be worth considering they may release an update to the c63 and change the logo?
Great story re the Ukraine watch, and Dani. Good vid. Keep at it!
I ordered a moonglow last week but couldn't resist ordering an Aquitaine gmt today (don't tell wifey)
I respect CW guys. I do own CW sea lander watch
They've done the right thing taking Christopher Ward off the Dial. Looks great.
Have they tho?
I just received my brand new C65 Aquitaine GMT black/black on black leather today - what a thing of absolute beauty….
Unfortunately I’ve had to hide it in my garage until “she who must be obeyed “ leaves for work later tonight, as she doesn’t know I’ve bought it.
That never ends well for me 😂 glad you like the watch. I’m yet to see that particular model in person.
@@CasualWatchReviews
It’s worth the drama, it’s simply stunning ! 😂
She still hasn’t found out, and now it’s blended into my collection… ahhh success !
The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms was definitely the first modern diver ever made
It’s an interesting topic. Both Rolex and Blancpain would have their own version of the story. The blancpain actually used a squale case so they may have a claim also.
I am a big fan of CW, but in my opinion the "visual language" of the aquitaine is a little messy. I mean on one hand it is a retro dive but on the other hand it uses shining colors and a sapphire bezel that screams modernity. It is well made of course, just all the others CW, but for me it is a bit of a Frankenstein, a good looking Frankenstein, but still a Frankenstein
Hey Piers, I’m always fascinated with peoples different takes on watches. I love the looks of these personally but interested to hear other perspectives. Thank for the comment.
@@CasualWatchReviews Thanks, of course it is a matter of personal taste. I mean the watch is really well made, no question about it, you can't criticise the product itself. But this time I won't rush to the "buy button" and remain happy with my C60 Tide and Bronze. Maybe my next CW will be the Sealander, hunter green 😉
Never looked at it that waybefore. Great comment mate.
Bronze case with green dial please.
Check out the c65 bronze ombre green COSC LE, I ordered one and waiting for it to arrive :)
I"m working on a review of the bronze sealander, should be posted soon.
After Christopher Ward left the company, it's not been the same. The logo rebranding, logo positioning, hands and face design was just so difficult to witness.
I think it’s massively improved since he left? It shows he was not the driving force, after the watch company he left CW to start largely failed. I’m a massive CW fan I’m interested to know your view on this? They have had some amazing releases lately.
if only the C63 Sealander GMT had the twin flag logo, would seal it for me
I'm sure that is just a matter of time honestly
beautiful watch.. but as soon as the logo only comes to the sealander im pulling the trigger.
Hey Joseph, I think that will happen one day, that’s a guess from me I don’t have any knowledge!
And to the C63 Colchester🙏
Yep, same here. Logo sealander would be a beaut!
Not a fan of the new watch personally. I think they should move forward and do contemporary designs.
I would push back on that a bit, the majority of their range are contemporary designs? They have these then the 'retro dive' collection but everything else is modern, including the majority of the new sealander range?
@@CasualWatchReviews I think everything besides the Abyss and C60 Concept is vintage or vintage inspired. That's just what I see though.
What does he mean by "In the civilised world"?
Everything except Russia
The Aquitaine is a beautiful watch...but they really need to ditch the Minecraft logo
Oh I love that twin flags. Maybe because I’m a child of the 80s and it does look a bit like pixels 🤣
Once and for all can we clear this up. He is your Dad right?😂
Well if he is I must be grounded because I see another CZcamsr got their hands on an actual one of these watches the day of the launch 😂 Christmas is going g to be awkward!
Maybe you can create a watch to help the Gaza people
A new copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of rolex.....very boring watch. ...dive boring watch.....
What Rolex is this a copy of?
Logo without the name is ok.
The size is too big in diameter IMO even if the L2L seem interesting.
The vintage vibe would fit better a more smaller watch.
The bulby bezel is as been and looks cheap.
The Roly style indexes is too much.
Typical from Brits, a lot of hype but it can be summarised by Shakespeare's much ado about nothing.
I was going to purchase a CW today..After seeing CW is now a woke company and virtue signalling I'll be spending my money elsewhere! I'm actually discusted!
