I'm waiting for the new black colourway to hit the Aquitane diver and then I'm 100% in on this watch. I've had my eyes on similar watches, but nothing beats this for the price: - Lumed bezel - Great color choices (I prefer the black) - Extra features like the red ring on the crown - A great bracelet, almost unheard of quality/features for the price
Thank goodness they used their brilliantly designed, easily adjustable clasp to make up for the mistake of using the double-sided screw pins. Apart from that, this one looks like a winner! Great review!
Hi mate. I presently own 3 CW watches, and have owned several more in the past. The watches are seriously good, and in my opinion up their with top luxury brands.
Being a sucker for vintage divers I immediately started looking for a variant to pull the trigger on and that GMT seems to be the obvious choice Although any of them would look great in the rotation but I'm afraid my Sig Flamma would be quite jealous As always Thanks for your professional reviews my friend 👍
The double screws are definitely much harder than single screw but I have a vice that can hold the bracelet securely and without scratching which allows me to operate a screwdriver in either hand and it's fine. The vice is actually a screw-down crystal press which works perfectly for twin screw fiddling. You just need the right tools is all. The benefit of the twin screws is that it is far less likely to come undone that single screw as the far-end screw turns into the screw pin rather than the link. I do like the twin screws actually.
Amazing review. Im trying to decide between the Oris Aquis 39.5 or this for my 6.6 inch wrist as my "one watch" . Really leaning towards CW as its more subtle and has all these features but everyone says to get the Oris.
Basically in this day and age there should be a better movement than the ETA 2824 / SW200 which can be hand wound without issue. Fact is there is a better movement it’s the ETA 2892 / SW300. The 2892 is a favourite of many better manufacturers such as IWC, Longines, Omega. I for one would pay the extra £50 for the use of a better movement , I suspect a 2892 will also require less service / maintenance over a long time.
The Sellita equivalent of the 2892-2 is the SW300, but it's a pretty rare beast. I assume there is a price jump between the SW200 and SW300, hence the rarity of the latter.
A bit out of my reach in terms of price point but damn that is one good looking watch. I really like the colour, curved bezel and pretty much everything else. Well maybe the date window is a bit of a minor issue but the rest is superb. Congrats on getting hands on with this and great work with the review
Thanks mate, oh yeh i saw on your vid that you have a bit of a beef with date windows!! Haha what's up there? Tbf i would like more watches to be dateless
I was (trying) to save enough for a Squale to treat myself at the end of the year, but this is so nice its making me think again. Nice to have options of course! Love the large undercut. And overall look of the watch. Mostly positive but a bracelet that needs a team of people to adjust is a negative! Great video as always, looking forward to the next.
Awsome watch!...It's great that they stuck with male end links. A little nubbin of an end link would ruin the aesthetics of the oyster bracelet, well done CW. Let's hope Omega and Tudor take note.
Jonny, 1 handed?! You must be mad, but then again you are a horologist if I remember! Agree with the right tools but the standard set up we have it would be difficult
Good review. Colour variations aren't really my cup of tea so will probably not be pulling the trigger until they come out with some different colour alternatives down the line. Quite like the logo and the 6 o'clock date window. Shame they went to effort to provide screwed pins to bracelet and then decided to go with double-ended screws.....had a Oris with the same and it was a real pain to adjust. They'd have been better off sticking with the pin and collars or the previous C65.
"Christopher Ward at 9." / "Don't like it!" "Christopher Ward at 12." / "Don't like it!" "Christopher Ward has another brand with his sons." / "Don't like it!" "Oh, f@ck Christopher Ward , just put the logo at 12, problem solved!" / "............!" 😋😂😂😂 Thanks for a great review mate, great piece(s), be well. Cheers. PS That damn GMT is SO "vintage" classy, bloody fockin amazingly good looking watch... What do you mean i like it?????😋 (not saying others are bad, but that one... hell !!!)
Is it me or is the taper ridiculous? And what's up with the two sided screw in links? I just bought an Aquitaine and will forego the bracelet. The tropic strap is very nice.
This one looks ok, don't like the green or blue. Seems like an awful lot of money, I'd be interested to see a comparison with the 40 mm Kraken Octopus running the same movement...
@@TheWatcherReviews thank you, since the wrist shot is close up I can't really tell. I have the same wrist size, would you say it wears too big for anyone with a 6.5 wrist?
Blechhh don't dig the white dial at all. The patina look of the lume plots, hands and bezel markings just doesn't work to my eyes. The green, blue, and bronze models are tempting however.
In what way exactly? I think its finished nicely enough to give great light interaction and at the price point I would like to see hands with chamfered polished/brushed edges....but that is just me!
The only thing I appreciate is the logo (without the name). Find it too big in diameter even if L2L is great. The Roly style indexes are 😞. The bulby saphir bezel is has been and 😖. The top hat saphir is too high IMO. 22mm lug width is too large. Really too much hype for a so-so watch.
What a disappointment, definitely much less interesting than the previous Christopher Wards. Everyone complains about the previous branding but this is much less interesting IMO. If I ever had any criticism of their branding options it would be the trident being a bit too big for my taste and they kept that. Shame
Finally, A CW I can get behind (one without his name on the dial). 😁
They finally responded to the consumers 😂
I really like CW watches but I absolutely hate the idea of having some random dude's name on the dial. The new logo is quite nice.
@@omaar115 I went to school with a guy named Chris Ward, and the dude was a total dick. No way in hell do I want his name on my watch. 😂

Unheard of quality? Maybe vwatch Dan's review of this on the watch me with watches channel before purchase (altho' CW have excellent return policy)
Massive improvement on the logo

Excellent Review with lots of useful information. I am really pleased to have found your channel.
Thank you for an excellent review and close up photographs. Much appreciated.
Appreciate the detailed review, especially the information about the gear issue with winding. I still think the watch is amazing.

WOW. This is stunning. Really like it. The blue GMT and blue bronze both look amazing. Great video Z!!!!
Great video. Thanks for explaining the bracelet in depth, which I was most curious about.
These guys are one of my favourite watch brands. Great video bro

Ignore what others say - follow your heart.
Personally I'd buy this. The Oris is too polished/shiny for my tastes.
@@jacktyler3148 agree!!
I can hear the cheer with the logo replacing the text
You know the packaging is good if its worth talking about! Lovely looking watch, which isn't uncommon for CW

Actually the bracelets are very east to adjust, I have never had a problem with them.

Looks really good I prefer it on the leather or the tropic only think I would worry about is the bezel looks fragile
I dig it , I just ordered a c63 sealander gmt can't wait to get it.
I guess the pins are made so they do less unscrew themselves? Looks nice. The watch has that nice retro vibe.
With regard to the links, it really is all down to preparation and the correct tools, it can actually be done one handed.

Looks great! Though I’d rather the full name on the dial than the symbol.
What size is your wrist? Great review mentioning the male end link lug to lugs
6.5"

don't like the design, don't like the logo, silly fork hand, I really don't get the appeal for CW watches I must say...
