It's not an NPC or a sim... but the scariest thing to me was that little thing that appeared at the bottom right of the screen when someone was outside your house... that showed you who it was as if it was a security camera. But sometimes it would appear when nobody was there.

That happens to notify you of anything important happening, not just someone ringing your bell, so that's why it would happen even when no one was at the door. Likely trash can being knocked over or roaches spawning as both of those cause it to happen!

To be fair, that penguin does look pretty sinister. It's uncanny the way his art style doesn't match anything around him. What is he up to? What does he know?

I love him. He shows up out of nowhere, walks around, pees on your lot and leave. Absolutely the best
I never cared about the penguin, I wanted to pet it lol, but that werewolf dog comes around I just keep my sims inside.

I was 4-5 when my dad gifted my sister Sims 2. I'd watch her play and I was TERRIFIED of the grim reaper. One day, my parents' gardener friend visited to bring over some tools they asked to borrow. He rings the doorbell and I open the door: he had a scythe in his hands. I was crying so hard and begging him not to take away any of my family because I thought he was the grim reaper due to the scythe lmaooo

I was seven and would watch my mom play The Sims on the family computer. I was TERRIFIED of the grim reaper as well. That Halloween, I met someone dressed as the grim reaper, and lemme tell you, I FREAKED.
I was horrified of Grim too! also the music that played when he came in TS3. I hardly EVER played with sound on because of it, and even turned off my monitor sometimes when he especially spooked me :o
Not Sims 2, but Sims 3 Pets on Xbox 360. THOSE GHOSTS MADE ME CRY. I hated when it became night. You couldn't travel anywhere, and the song that was in the back was just sinister to 8 or 9yrs old me. Do hope this makes ya laugh. Buuut, that story of the gardener is goddamn hilarious
Something about the lots in the sims 2 has always creeped me out. The way you can only see whatâs on your lot and the rest of the world is blurred/pixelated. They seem completely disconnected from the rest of the world and just give this really isolating and secluded and lonely feel
that's relatable. *insert the boring nightlife music from buy mode*
It's even more disconnected on earlier versions of the sims 2. You only view your house and nothing else around you for miles...
@@HNRichard I downloaded the ultimate collection on oldgames. It is very strange how itâs just nothing for miles even when you have neighbors right beside you.
Oh there are ways to fix that
I pretty much always play on apartment lots for that reason. Just knowing that there're real neighbours, with their tangible houses that you can visit, brings some odd sort of comfort. And there's always something going on, the neighbours chat, play with pets, have picnics and stuff. Kind of feels like a mini version of Sims 3.
we all know the scariest npc is the repo man đđ everytime my sims fail to pay bills, he'd appear and i'd always use cheats to delete him
I used to be terrified of the social worker. Once, a child was left home alone on accident because she overslept and the nanny left. Only two hours later, the social worker arrived and (technically) kidnapped my beloved daughter đ

I think the social bunny is missing one eye because it represents a broken bunny toy from childhood when the sim was a child, the child played so many times with the bunny that the eye fell of or got lost with time. The bunny represent a childhood memory for the sim and how he or she played with him and "socialised" with the bunny.
I still found this bunny a bit creepy.
The Grim Reaper in Sims 2 always scared me when I was little. The way he floated, his voice, his thumbnail in the queue and the funniest part is back then I didn't know what the scythe was so I'd shout out "NO! It's the cloak with the pointy thing!"
What happened when the reaper from sims 3 showed up (asking because he scared the hell out of me when i first encountered him)

Oh lord, I used to be so scared of mummies from Sims 3 World Adventures; The concept of them cursing my sim, which would then result in death, terrified me so much that I refused to send my sims on vacations to Egypt đ
i was absolutely terrified by a wolf, that bites ur sim & turns him/her into a werewolf. those glowin' eyes in the dark...
always prefer only wolves in the household, no other pets

I LOVED that unique glowing eyes feature and really wanted to keep it as pet (but you can't do it legally without cheats)

When you put tombs outside, apart from the ghosts appearing during the night, there are some sinister/weird sounds that you could hear, it was so creepy
the hula zombies are sims in a full body (literally) costume, you can find it in CAS when you unlock hidden outfits if I'm not mistaken

WTF, why don't they just create a female hula dancer instead, it's seem like they purposely want to scare a lot of curious simmers? Just why?
Burglars and aliens freaked me out in sims 2. Heck the vampires breaking in to drink from your sim in sims 4 freaks me out!

As far as I'm concerned, Sims 3 aliens are the creepiest by far. They like to show up at your house in the dead of night and walk around scanning your things with their little alien tablet thingies, then stand on your porch all night. Sometimes they ring the doorbell incessantly. If your Sim is awake, they'll autonomously go to greet them and let them in the house and you can't stop them. And (in my current Sims 3 save anyway) the aliens are always elders. The whole situation is bizarre.
@@Rabbitmancer and in 3, they'll like target a specific sim and abduct the same one literally multiple times. When I did a teen runaway challenge, they kidnapped my sim about ten times in a row. Probably a glitch... Still creepy
I actually loved the Social Bunny as a young child, it reminded me of my own bunny plush, that I also talked to and played with back then.
I also loved whenever the penguin came to visit my sims. I thought it was cute how he talked to my sims's snowmen.
I was terrified by Social Worker who 'stole' my babies =))
The headmaster stressed me out too! I had my sims try get their alien hybrid son into private school, managed to max out all the requirments but still got rejected... I think the head master had something against aliens personally đđđ

I had a thought that aliens was a way that Sims could put racism in a game that is for teens in some method, but that's just my personal opinion

The first time I encountered the Social Bunny in the Sims 2, I thought I did something wrong by mistake and that he appeared like the Tragic Clown so I tried to get rid of it. Alas.
The first time I ever saw the social bunny I was playing as someone else in the house and didn't see it, but I did see the toys he was juggling! Then he sat down at the table and was eating but all I could see was the fork moving and I had no idea what was happening! Then I switched to the family member who he'd come for and, oh. What the heck!
I agree with these except the Unsavory Charlatan, for some reason I found him hot, I even added him and married him ingame once (hood corruption entered the chat).

I had a situation in Strangetown when my teenage sim was hanging out with friends at a community lot. This Charlatan guy was constantly trying to interact with my teenager (dressed in nothing but a bathing suit, btw) and rubbing his hands together creepily. That... is some new level of yikes XD
Sims 1 and sims 2 are very liminal. NPCs that could appear at any time, the gray abyss or endless grass/desert all the way to the horizon, (nobody could run the game with neighbors on in the day) the feeling something... more is lurking in the game. Something just outside of your perception, but you can feel it.
Wait the sims 1 was almost a horror game xD all those unexpected noises, the way game forced you to look at your entrance when someone is there, creepy prank calls, burglar music, clown, huge fire flames, the way sims are crying when on fire đ I'm sure I forgot something
Actually, the penguin can help you know if your hood's corrupted. So, if you see him in any other season apart from winter, be scared.
@@Kabotynka penguin often appear whenever there's mounted fish/pond on lot too. My millionaire sims opened fish shop in ofb. He visiting everyday just like loyal costumer. Instead paying few bucks, peeing on mat really annoy međ

I started playing Sims 1 when I was about 11 in 2001... That game scared me pretty often. But I was about 16 when 2 came out.. so it didn't have the same effect.. but I could see how that could be creepy to a younger kid

I remember when me and my sister were younger and played the Sims 2 we were absolutely terrified of the Social Bunny. The way it just falls from the sky when your social need is low and folows your sim around and looks scary too. For me the Grim Reaper was also the creepiest, I was about 9 years old and new to the game at the time and I created a family of four in cas the woman was alone at home on her day off whilst the husband and children were at work and school. She was busy cooking and started a fire (back then I didn't know there was a fire alarm in game or how to phone the fire department.) I panicked as I watched my sim was being burned alive and had bo idea what to do then she died and the Grim Reaper showed up and scared me so much that I stopped playing the sims 2 for a week or so after that lol.
In the sims 1 the sound when the burglar come was the most scarier, and the ghost from sims 1 and 2 just because they are so horrible, always scaring they own family members to death.. ^^"
I was always scared to play the Goths as a kid, because I was scared of the ghosts that came out at night.
I guess I should've been scared of a lot of the other lots as well, but I don't remember being scared of any household other than Goth đ¤

I know it's Sims 3, but the imaginary friend NPC from Generations was creepy
I didnât play sims 2 much, but I remember the first time I played sims 3 (I was 10 y.o.). I made a cute family and went to the park in Sunset Valley. All of a sudden, my camera just moved to an old lady that started to levitate and turned into a ghost. I was confused, but then STARTLED by the sound of Grim Reaper appearing. I was so terrified that immediately quit the game and did not play for a few weeksâŚ
The whole new years festivity with Father Time and Toddler New Year still give me the creeps, ugh

As a kid, I thought the social bunny was that bunny from Silent Hill 3 and was both terrified and intrigued by him

I play The Sims 2 all the time and I can confirm that the Unsavory Charlatan shows up everywhere all of the fucking time. Not just vacations. Everywhere. Every. Fucking. Where.
Late 00s, early 2010s videogames often look kinda creepy bc the graphics fall into the uncanny valley I think.
Not too cartoony and low-poly as in the 90s and before, but not as good as later
I like Sims 3 graphics most. 2 is too basic and 4 too âprettyâ.

None of the NPCs in SIms 2 scared me as a kid. Not even Grim, probably because I found his "search for the name and then just give up and call" schtick amusing.
But then again I was really dense and a had a super boring playstyle playing a ridiculously average sim (with motherlode), so I barely encountered any supernatural sims or special NPCs. Heck, I failed to understand most of the lore barring Bella Goths dissapearance, Don Lotharios womanizing, the General Buzz' alien racism and the Beaker household (yes, I did not notice Olives garden SOMEHOW... at least I cannot remember that I did).
What really scared me back in the day were fan videos of the Sims, mostly the horror movies. Largely due to jumpscares and really creepy customization. .-.
They were well made though.
I also watched a lot of those fan videos, i don't think they were horror but their plots were insane

The ghosts used to scare me, the ghost music for busting out was the worse where I was too scared to play at the house with the tombstones
I never played sims 2 or 1, but the tragic clown gives me the creeps. Could u do the same for sims 3? I personally get horribly scared of sharks and the kraken, and when I was younger I would get so afraid of aliens XD. Although in sims 3 we have more scary situations over scary npcs

I Love The Penguin in The Sims 2!! He or She is cute!! I always send my Sims out to kiss cuddle and Pet them when they arrive on my lot. So Freaking adorable!! I Can't resist that Cute Face and Voice!!
The atmosphere of the game was really intringuing, especially the night effects. I GAGGED back in the day
The therapist in the Sims 2 was the creepiest for me. But maybe thatâs just because I broke my game by adding him to the family once.
Never tired to add him to the household myself. He is definetly one of the creepy ones and Im surprised he wasn't talked about in the video. Actually cuts your skull open if I remember right (but its long since I played it so could be wrong, in my mind he does it). Also comes only when things are going really bad, and he has mad scientist vibes, never thought of him as a therapist
All the NPCs had the same face! That's what scares ME!
I always ADORED aliens in the Sims, the occults were my FAVORITE part, honestly one of the only reasons 4 is my main game is because of aliens lmao

My mom used to play sims 2 and 3 in front of me when I was a very small child. I remember once a sim died and was put in a vase type shape thing and seeing the grim reaper scared me LOL
I once had a maid get stuck in her car and i was confused. I zoomed in and she stopped and looked directly at my camera. I didnt know it was a thing before then. Terrified me
When I was a kid I was never really scared of any of the Sims characters but there were these creepy fan-made Sims videos on CZcams that scared the heck outta me. Unfortunately I can't find them anymore but I remember all of them fondly. xD

Funnily enough they donât corrupt your game if you add them to the household! The video only includes âspecialâ npcs who will ruin the game if added!
@@TheSimsLore Oh just the universals, okay. The title just says scary ones. Repo man and burglar music always gave me a fright. If you want to do corrupting npc's there are plenty more you didn't mention like Crumplebottom, therapist, even hair dressers are not safe to add.
@@joandsarah77 I remember that my way to avoid repo man taking my stuff was to stuff all of my things in the family inventory and that way they couldnt take anything haha
Sims 2 was wild and so unpredictable. During my first few plays my PREGNANT (with twins) sim suddenly died, her husband witnessed her death, plead to grim reaper but to no avail. I was traumatised đ
I was terrified of ghosts in The Sims 2. So much so that i messed up the mansion in build mode, trying to lock in the ghosts, which nevertheless passed through the walls. Oh, how unhappy my sister was when I ruined the house with walls

Yes, I think that even if they added burglars to The Sims 4 that would me more funny and goofy than creepy. Maybe they would put some creepy music but then you see the guy and you cringe lol

Didn't play TS2, but I do know of some scary NPCs (from all games): the Social Bunny (based on the deranged rabbit-man from a Donnie Darko - hence the deliberately scary appearance), the Tragic Clown, the burglar, the repo-man, the social worker, mummies, imaginary friends, and the rarely ever seen Night Wraith.
The social bunny scares the hell out of me, even still, I play the Sims 2 to this day

The only time I was terrified as a kid was when in the Sims 1 sound effects was burglars, fires, and ghostsđ¨

NPCs never scared me in sims 2 but the burglar music terrifies me.

I will say, I never trapped a sim in a room and made them starve to death. I can't remember removing the pool ladder, but that doesn't mean I never did it. But what I absolutely do remember is building a room big enough for a fireplace and large square rug, sending a sim in there, removing the door and making them light a fire over and over until the rug caught.
Edward Dregg was actually back in Sims 3 in Islo Paradiso with his wife Cara. They are both playable ghosts.
Along with the burglar, the tragic clown and crazy therapist that came when you were failing your aspiration scared me.
Those are very scary but nothing will ever compare to the ghosts and burglars in sims 1. Even today, 22 years later, Iâm still afraid of them, just the sound effects give me the urge to run away from my pc.
Not a NpcâŚbut a place, the freaking graveyard, the spooky sounds it does when you visit and up close the graves. I remember my 10 year old self was so scared and never wanted to go back to it
Miss Lore quoted Stanley Parable, and I started tho imagine she playing this game and being sarcastic with the Narrator and starting to make theories.

I think it came with the seasons expansion. The whole idea is that it only appears in winter.

There aren't any npc's that terrified me but there are some that passed me off like mom from the sims council game

Grim reaper and ghosts were one of my biggest fear in The Sims 2. I had lots of nightmares about them when I was little but continued playing it lol

Repoman was the scariest npc in my opinion
not an npc, but whenever I play the Curious household, Loki Beaker ALWAYS comes creeping at night, just paces up and down the lot and occasionally kicks the trash can - first time it happened it thoroughly creeped me out.
i barely remember the sims 1 (i grew up with 3 and 4) other then the fact that whenever i made any sims they would die SO QUICKLY. IT WAS SO EASY TO KILL THEM. and it was terrifying!
