    The ghost town one in the sims 3 just made me laugh cos I was reminded of when I moved two sims into a custom neighborhood with no one else around. The only things that ended up spawning were animals, so when I made my sim gossip with the other one, a dialogue box came up that read, "did you know wild horse has a terrible secret?" This is what I want from The Sims 5 :(
    The Sims was always so kooky and just the right amount of unnerving. I loved opening households in The Sims 2 and reading about their backstories, seeing their relationships and histories. I want more unpredictability as well. The Sims 4 feels like a hollow shell and I don't think the Sims team understand how to re-capture the magic of those early games. It's too squeaky clean.

    • @meikahidenori
      @meikahidenori Před rokem +31

      i feel this is due to many wanting more realistic things in the game, taking some of the weirder stuff out and relegating it to only a few packs & neighbourhoods. (there's a reason I ALLWAYS play in Stranger ville now, the neighbourhood is so weird and I'm all for it)

    • @sabrinarosario6499
      @sabrinarosario6499 Před rokem +35

      I don’t think you will get it. Games that used to be insane and weird are now getting sanitized. I am not talking about the offending content but that and everything else. That is to attract new players and since casual players might get offended more easily by “controversial” content than habitual hardcore gamers, these companies are sanitizing their games to hell and back. They lose what made them funny/creepy/entertaining.
      Example: Saints Row 2022 V The entire franchise of Saints Row

    I haven't had a nanny kidnap my children before but once when I was little playing The Sims 2 (back when it was new) I had a couple who had a toddler as well as another household.
    One day when I played the household with the toddler a sim from my other household came over by self and without knocking at the door and waiting there, she just went straight in and picked up the toddler and proceeded to walk of the lot whilst holding the toddler and the toddler disappeared from the list of sims in the household.
    When I changed to her household the toddler wasn't there. I never found the toddler again.

After doing that I noticed Don was still in my sim’s relationship panel so I got curious and proceeded to invite him to my house, never expecting him to show up. He did… He was just standing there in front of my lot, I only noticed him after a while, he was not moving, not emoting, just standing there menacingly. This is probably a glitch I have experienced but I have my own creepy story about children disappearing out of nowhere in my households. This is only in the Sims 3. I had been playing in Sunset Valley for several generations, and by this point the original population of the town died off a lot. Even though I kept switching between households to make different sims marry each other and have more generations of kids, I wanted to add some fresh faces. So I made a family called the Humble family, consisting of a mother, Enrika, father, Larry, teenage son, Harry, and child daughter, Mitzi. I didn’t really intend to “play” them much, I just wanted to add them as extra NPCs in the world. I move them into the old Bachelor family house (because they all died and the house was nice lol) and all seems well. I leave them there and go on to play with one of my main families. I check back in maybe a few sim days and Mitzi is…gone? Like, gone for good. She is no longer in the household, and she doesn’t show up in relationship panels anymore. When I check the family tree, though, she is still there, as a child, as if she never left. Strange. I had no way to know how she disappeared, so I chocked it up to some game glitch and moved on, continuing to play in that neighborhood.
    Recently, I downloaded a custom world called Cape Garner Islands. It was unfortunately not pre-populated, so I had to fill it with my own sims. It became a fun little project of mine to make the neighborhood be filled with my own sims. I got a little lazy, though, and just started moving in old families I had made a long time ago, like the Humbles. And of course, Mitzi was still there in the family panel when I moved them in. So I do the same thing: I move in the family to a random house and then leave them alone. Several sim weeks go by, and honestly, probably several real life months of on and off playing pass by too. One day while in Edit Town mode I check up on the Humble family and lo and behold, Mitzi isn’t in the picture. At all. What the hell. She must be a glitched sim or something. I just have no clue what might have happened. Did she die? Is her code broken or something? I still don’t know. But twice now, she has disappeared. It’s honestly bizarre.
    My theory as to why it happened is that there was some kind of glitch that caused the sim to, according to the game, die. Simply cease to exist. I was playing world adventures literally just a few days ago, and my sim had fathered a child of an Egyptian woman named Rainia Badawi (she was married, but my sim impregnated married women like the jackass he is). My sim got her pregnant when she was visiting my hometown, and not too long after she returned home, I noticed a new member in the family tree: it was a child, a girl named Jihaan Badawi. I figured that she aged up so fast cause babies and toddlers cannot exist in default travel destinations without mods. I travel to Egypt shortly after to visit her and Rainia. Before I can visit her for the second time, I get a red box notification that says that Jihaan has starved to death. HUH??? The game basically just chose to delete her, because I’m pretty sure children in sims 3 cannot die by starvation. They just get taken away by social workers. Maybe that is what happened? I really don’t know. She was deleted from my relationship panel but she was still showing up as a regular sim in my family tree, not as a purple ghost. This entire thing relates to the Mitzi Humble disappearance because something similar just have happened to her…twice. The game just decided that they shouldn’t exist anymore, and it is so creepy every time it happens. I hope this doesn’t happen to more of my sim children.

      Did you have story progression on in the Sims 3? If it is then that is why. To keep the game "alive" the game will randomly choose sims ranging from newborn to old to in a sense "move away". I experienced it a lot so I turned story progression off because I was sick of the game kicking my sims out. When I did it stopped. Everyone stayed and didn't get removed from my town. They erase everything but the sim from the family tree as I have found the family tree if you try to remove someone gets very buggy. There won't be any actual memories of said sim moving away in the household. They just go missing. Story progression if you read the description will just kill sims randomly, sims will get married or pregnant. That is as far as I know the only way for children to die is if the game decides they are going to die. I don't think they even leave a ghost. I never checked to see if a sim in the house hold remembers the death or not. I hope that answer helped you. Sounded like what was happening to me two years ago.

      @@CrazyAnimeGirl8D thank you for this answer. I do have story progression on. This makes a lot of sense. It’s funny that it happened to the same sim twice to me in two different neighborhoods. I like story progression because I have noticed it makes NPC sims get married and move in together rather than stay in the same place, and it is nice to have that dynamic. But having a child randomly die outside of my control kinda sucks

I woke my sim up to feed her etc and she used my shower and my stuff like it was her own home (not leaving because her needs were low, like normal). I stopped playing eventually, saved and quit. I legitimately wasn't playing this game for more than 5 minutes before everyone burned. it's how I found out that whilst children can't die, teenagers can. I then got multiple popups from the Grim Reaper of him telling me some kind of story and chewing me out for killing all my sims. it has legitimately never happened before or since then, but I still remember just the sheer shock that everyone was dead already.

One of them returned in The Sims 4 (the first one that was mentioned I think) and if you ask who is on the other line, the caller reveals that it's a prank call, they turn out to be an existing sim iirc, and then your sim will lose friendship points with them or gain negative points if they don't know the prank caller (which I think might always be the case?)... plus your sim will get an Angry Moodlet. However, I was always too low on energy after that that I just moved one household in and played with that. The result: a customized ghost town!

    I never had a nanny walk off the lot with a baby although I have seen them leave before the parent came home. Fortunately I've always had someone else in the house so there was no threat of the social worker showing up, but I do worry that one day this will happen when no spouse or teen is in the house. I did have a sim once leave the lot holding the families puppy in her hands. I did freak out because I didn't know what would happen but when the sim left the puppy wound up in the backyard and was fine. I have heard of a parent sometimes leaving for work with a baby in their arms. As far as I know they come back safe.
